How many producers do you know that can say they have worked one on one with the likes of Bilal, Ghostface, Souls Of Mischief and the Delfonics? Well the only one that comes to mind is Adrian Younge who was recently in Atlanta for his first DJ performance and ArtByOdell sat down with him for an exclusive interview. They talked about what inspires his musical process what he thinks of today’s R&B and what new albums he has coming out. He shares with us a great piece of information that he will have 4 albums out by the end of 2015 listen to find out who they are with and what the titles are!

Oakland group Souls of Mischief is the invited guest on this episode of NPR’s Microphone Check. The emcees speak to Adrian Younge, producer of Souls’ recently-released LP – “There Is Only Now” (which Mic Check co-host Ali Shaheed Muhammad, of A Tribe Called Quest, narrates. Great conversation, memories and insights shared by three Souls members (Tajai, Phesto and Opio) with Younge, Ali and Mic Check co-host Frannie Kelley.

Adrian Younge is mixing of old soul with music in step with (maybe even a bit ahead of) today’s trends for a collaborative project with Delfonics front man William Hart – “Adrian Younge Presents the Delfonics” (due out March 12, 2013). The lead single put a Hip-Hop twist on the tried and true sound – a track called “Stop and Look (And You Have Found Love)†…and now… This… is… the [“Stop and Look”] remix. Check out Detroit’s Black Milk track work, blessed by lyrics from West Coast Golden Era emcee troupe Souls Of Mischief.
