Skyzoo Speaks On His Upcoming ‘Reasonable Doubt’ Inspired Mixtape (Video)
Brooklyn emcee Skyzoo ain’t scared of “The Hot Box” – evidenced by that freestyle he drops above! And he’s got more as a matter of fact, here he is sharing “Range Rover Rhythm” off his latest album, “A Dream Deferred.” And more… He scheduled the drop of a mixtape in honor of “Reasonable Doubt” on the artist’s (fellow Brooklyn native Jay Z) birthday (December 4, 2013); titled “An Ode to Reasonable Doubt.”

Skyzoo – “Spike Lee Was My Hero” feat. Talib Kweli (Video)
Skyzoo drops this dope video for “Spike Lee Was My Hero” off of one of the best hip hop albums to date “A Dream Deferred”. The director Alex Ghassan did a great job capturing elements of Spike Lee’s unique directorial style for this clip featuring Talib Kweli & Spike Lee who appears later in the clip. Great song & great video from what we decided on our radio show to be one of our top 3 hip hop albums of the year on The Beatz & Lyrics Show. Yes indeed Skyzoo……..Spike Lee was & is still our hero.

Skyzoo – “Jansport Strings” (Video)
“The video, directed by Anthony Sylvester, was shot throughout Bed Stuy, Brooklyn NY. The theme was to show the parallels between me as a 9-year old aspiring emcee and me now as an accomplished emcee and artist, and how the things around me that groomed me haven’t changed. The song is a 3-minute auto-bio of me as a kid in Brooklyn. The ending is a clip from Video Music Box, the legendary NYC video show run by DJ Ralph McDaniels. This episode in particular was the debut of Chi-Ali’s classic ‘Age Ain’t Nothin But A Number’. Seeing that video that day on this episode of VMB made me start rhyming. This clip was literally the moment that changed my life. And the Chi-Ali tee shirt is pretty amazing. They’ll be on sale soon. Enjoy…” –Skyzoo
In an rather coincidental sort of timing, Chi-Ali was recently released from prison & Special Ed posted a photo of the two together. So indeed one time for Chi-Ali coming home as well. Check out Special Ed’s quote & the photo after the jump. Skyzoo’s upcoming album ‘A Dream Deferred’ out Oct. 2nd on The Faculty/Duck Down Music Inc.
