South London’s Arlissa sings with an old soul, though she is not even out of her teens. She’s about to be major though. With a Nas co-sign? Come on. I need not say any more. The video for the remake of Arlissa’s single “Hard To Love Somebody” (due out on iTunes September 30, 2012) provides visuals for the good music she and Nas made. The original version of Arlissa’s single “Hard To Love Somebody” was inspired by a break-up with her boyfriend of three years. The song went viral and had caught the ear & heart of Nas; who was so impressed he flew Arlissa to Los Angeles to record a remake in person. Even in the midst of promoting his hot new release, “Life Is Good” (which you can get via link from in earlier post here), Nas felt the need to collaborate and put out this single with Arlissa. The only other UK artist Nas had collaborated with by that time was Amy Winehouse (on “Cherry Wine” – which we posted about here). Arlissa admits the experience has been a lot to take in; but one that kind of brings her full circle.
