Tobe Nwigwe – “Slow Down” (Video)
Life ain’t easy. Facts. Need to “Slow Down” and reconsider: What got you here won’t keep you here. THINK!
Doesn’t that sound like some deep wisdom? I agree. Wish I had said it. All the above came from me watching the video embedded above that… So, “Slow Down”… at least long enough to enjoy this Tobe Nwigwe work.

G.Huff x Lena Jackson – “Another Dead Rapper” (Remix) feat. M.O.P. [Prod. By Statik Selektah]
I admit. I’m a little off balance. Challenged mentally.
Forever with the sh!ts. HOT sh!ts. M.O.P. jumped right into the fi-yaaaah (especially knowing that Statik Selektah was responsible for the track, I bet). Another “Another Dead Rapper” on arrival. Pronounced by G.Huff & Lena Jackson.

Politics: Now The Choice Is Clear For Democrats. It’s Bernie Sanders Or Joe Biden (Video)
Okay, so now we have thinned the herd of Democratic opposition for President Trump’s position in 2020. I was clearly on my #FeelTheBern with Senator Sanders last go ’round, but now Papa Joe Biden is in the race for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Presidential race; Barack Obama’s Veep and right hand man. What to do?
I’ll leave the who to you. But the what… you gotta VOTE! My state’s vote is coming up. And I will be voting for one of these guys, so I really have to study up. Up first (above), I am putting my ‘incumbent’ choice, Bernie Sanders. Hit the jump to see Joe Biden’s speech.

Wise Intelligent Speaks On Hip-Hop Music’s Move Away From Positive Messaging (Video)
And when Rodney King got the beating, heads responded properly!
“Fight The Power”… for those who really felt that song… it was way more than a song. It was an anthem, a call to action, a we-take-no-more-sh!t CHARGE for us! And ‘they’ do not want us getting charged up like that. THEY, in turn, will deliberately, but quietly, shut the rally down; by taking away the bullhorn so we no longer here the rally cry.
Maybe you don’t get me. But watch and listen to the Poor Righteous Teacher Wise Intelligent… You will.
Wise Intelligent of Poor Righteous Teachers talks about the deliberate effort to silence positive Hip-Hop.
– Boom Bap Nation
(See. I’m not mad at ‘mumble rappers’… But why can’t we hear more positivity to balance it out? You KNOW the answer: We hear what THEY want us to hear more of… and NOT that positive ‘ish. NO Brother. NO Sister. THEY don’t want you to KNOW much about that.)

Comedy: Bruh, Can I Take Your Keys… So I Can Take Paigion Out (Video)
Baaaahhhahahaaa!
Dude was rolling with a pack! Yeah, a pack of lies, starting from the mailbox. And he would’ve gotten away with it, if it wasn’t for that meddling… owner of the car he was actually trying to STEAL! Okay, not steal. Let’s not call it stealing. It would clearly be joyriding. Because riding out to lunch with Paigion would definitely be a joy!

DOPE!
Prince Marley. Respect to you dude, for trying to give them “Free Game”… all they gotta do is pay attention to your moves. Some folks won’t even pay attention though. And that’s gonna cost them!
As for me, I followed @bighomiemarley on the ‘Gram as soon as the video closed. Good luck closing on more properties, and keep putting out solid work (like this) #NewDopeGame

Nia Long Speaks On That ‘Cherry Thong’ Line And Her New Movie (Video)
Listen. I got kids to put through college. I will sell some cherry thongs!
Hey, hey, Sway! Back up, son. I got the answers for Nia, not you (haha)!
O…M…G! I will buy a woman some Nia Long thongs on sight!! That idea is epic. And the visual I got going in my mind right now… ooooh weee!!
Nia Long is starring in a new movie called The Banker alongside Anthony Mackie and Samuel L. Jackson coming out in March 2020. The film is about two Black men who started a company, but hired a White man to act as if he was the owner as they posed as the janitor and chauffeur as they ran the business back in the 1950’s. Nia Long stopped by Sway In The Morning to talk about her role in the film.

NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert Series Presents: Koffee (Video)
Ayeeeeeee! Let the party happen! It’s a vibe, not a wave. That’s why your body (and soul) sway as you enjoy this performance straight from the Tiny Desk. If you are at a ‘tiny desk’ of your own right now, know that you will soon be free… as soon as you press play above!
Above all, what makes Koffee so refreshing is that she centers her music around faith, resilience and gratitude. She has a new perspective to add to the pantheon of mostly male reggae greats and it’s resonating with a new generation that’s just getting hip to the iconic sounds. As her Tiny Desk performance shows, Koffee makes the best of her surroundings, channeling the day’s buzzy energy into a balancing act of youthful heart and old-pro precision, proving why she has become one of the most invigorating voices in reggae.

Royce Da 5’9 – “I Don’t Age”
Flyer than the sky, I am the pilot of the Soul Plane.
‘Product of the dope game,’ he says. Nah, mane… Royce is the dope game. BARZ so unmatched, in fact, it’s so not a game! I mean, this is just another reminder. Who want it with Da 5’9? Rhetorical. Whoever you are thinking, STOP thinking they do. Because they DO NOT!
His barz are timeless!! His legacy is sealed. I got the title before I even pressed play #FACT

Planet Asia – “God Degree” (Prod. By 38 Spesh) [Video]
History repeats what you refuse to learn about.
Hmm… I’m asking: Has anybody spit positivity barz over a 38 Spesh beat? Of course, the beat is a banger (I knew that going in) and the lyrics are top-notch (I knew that, too, because Planet Asia). But the message! Ill and dope. The problem and the solution. At the same damn time!!
Planet Asia has recorded a number of albums with single producers (or production teams) throughout his prolific career. He has dropped classic material with DJ Muggs, Apollo Brown, Gensu Dean, DJ Concept, and of course his boys DirtyDiggs. However, according to King Medallions himself, his upcoming 38 Spesh-produced album “Trust The Chain” might be his best single-producer album yet.
As for Spesh, the rapper/producer/entrepreneur really flexed his beatmaking skills in 2019, helming full albums for Che Noir, Flee Lord, Elcamino, Black Geez, and more. He’s determined to establish his names with the greats by outworking the comp.
The pairing of PA’s funky linguistics and Spesh’s soul loops is a match made in Hip-Hop heaven. These songs were meant to be. To further bolster the flavor on this fly affair Rasheed Chappell, The Musalini, Fred The Godson, and Elcamino each pitch in a drum. Truuust!

Sports: Watch Josh Neuman ‘Race Against the Storm’ (Video)
And by sports, I mean EXTREME skateboarding! Now, I try never to say ‘never’… but to this, it’s gonna be a loud “hellyell naaaw” from me!!
This Josh Neuman skateboard run down the mountain, in the face of a coming storm (and some traffic), is like laughing in the face of DEATH! But it is hella exhilarating. I admit it.
Great camera work, too. CRAZY!

Talib Kweli & Rapsody Chat About Her Influences And Relationships, Rap And Otherwise, At The “People’s Party” (Video)
You taught me the power of the microphone.
Very nice!
Nowadays, Rapsody is now a force on her own. Top-tier lyricist and artist, for certain. But it would be quite okay to judge her based on the company she keeps… because that is some POWERFUL company. Good get for the ‘cast, Kweli. I’m leaning in and listening!
In this episode of People’s Party, Talib Kweli and Jasmin Leigh sit down with rapper and writer Rapsody. This introspective interview highlights the huge contribution this talented lyricist has made in bringing the B-Girl back to the forefront of the culture. They discuss her growing up in the tiny town of Snowhill, NC; she speaks on being largely inspired to rap from growing up listening to MC Lyte and Lauryn Hill; and she shares the profound life advice she received from Ms. Hill. Rapsody also defines why being pro-Black doesn’t translate to being anti-White.
Later Rapsody reflects on her close friendships with Mac Miller and Nipsey Hussle, and the enormous loss the Hip-Hop community felt with their passing. She speaks on her regular collaborations with 9th Wonder and his Soul Council beat crew, then details every member’s signature style. She also digs into the guidance (and playful moments) she’s shared with Jay Z, and her friendships with Kendrick Lamar, DaBaby, and J.I.D.. Rapsody explains how the concept for the “Eve” album came about and responds to the notion that female fans only want to hear “songs for the ladies.” She also has wise words for the women in the game about being themselves regardless of any criticism they receive about their appearance or content.
