Yeah. Here are some real ‘fireworks’ for the 4th for y’all. The historic, convicting words of Abolitionist Frederick Douglass; brought to life by living legend James Earl Jones.
In a Fourth of July holiday special, we hear the words of Frederick Douglass. Born into slavery around 1818, Douglass became a key leader of the abolitionist movement. On July 5, 1852, in Rochester, New York, he gave one of his most famous speeches, “The Meaning of July Fourth for the Negro.†He was addressing the Rochester Ladies Antislavery Society. This is actor James Earl Jones reading the speech during a performance of historian Howard Zinn’s acclaimed book, “Voices of a People’s History of the United States.†He was introduced by Zinn.

I stay impressed with Chris Rivers’ ability to walk the line between pain and paying homage when it comes to the life path laid out by his dad Christopher Rios aka Big Pun (RIP).
Sincerely Me from the beginning was a letter to my father and an homage to him. I thought to drive that message home with the video as well as give into the comparisons in embracing our similarities; it was great to remake some of his classic videos and pictures but with my own spin on it. I want him to know that we are here, we remember him and that a legacy is being carved in my steps and there’s no better way to show all that at once with that subject matter tied to the video . It’s the first video off of G.I.T.U. and I’m just so excited to give ya more.
