Kendrick Lamar – ‘King Kunta’ (Video)
One of my favorite hip hop albums out right now gets a brand new video for the new single ‘King Kunta.’ Definitely one of the key songs I’m feeling from Kendrick Lamar’s new album ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ that’s out right now, but I need a video for ‘The Blacker The Berry’ instead of this short one I replay over & over again from my personal instagram page. The song ‘Complexion’ could use a dope visual too, but dammit the whole album may need one. It’s just that dope. It’s clear the homie Kendrick Lamar is winning on his own terms.

Kendrick Lamar – “The Blacker The Berry” (Prod. By Boi-1da)
Fresh off his Grammy wins for ‘Best Rap Performance’ & ‘Best Rap Song’ for the song ‘i’, the West Coast emcee Kendrick Lamar gets deeper for Black History month with this new banger called ‘The Blacker The Berry’ which is a deeper self-love & black pride type of song. This new joint is produced by Boi-1da with additional production from Terrace Martin that smoothes out & coasts near the completion of the track.
Kurupt Gets Enraged Over The ‘King Of New York’ Title Both He & Kendrick Lamar Used (Video)
“In this clip from his exclusive interview with VladTV, Kurupt went ballistic over New York’s defensive response to Kendrick Lamar’s “I’m the King of New York” line on his “Control” verse.
Kurupt originally spit the “King of NY” line on the 2010 track “Get Bizy,” which also featured verses from Kendrick, Terrace Martin, and Bad Lucc. When asked about the meaning behind his original line, Kurupt replied, “That means I’m the f**king worst, and that’s all it meant.” Shortly after giving an explanation behind his line, Kurupt went off over how quick New Yorkers are to get offended by any line that mentions their city.
He explained that “King of New York,” is actually “a f**king movie” from 1990 about a drug lord named Frank White who returns from prison to take control of his streets once again. Kurupt is extremely angry by how quickly New Yorkers are to jump to the conclusion that anything mentioned about their city is a diss of some kind. He emphasized that there is no problem between the West Coast and New York, and that every state within the United States is ultimately a part of a family.
He did, however, state that if anything were to happen to Kendrick, or anyone else from the West Coast, that there would certainly be severe repercussions, but ultimately it is New York who is always quick to ignite drama between the two coasts even when the West has no intention of starting problems.”
Kendrick Lamar Speaking With DJ Whoo Kid On His Music, His Moves, His Take On Hip-Hop Today & More (Video)
On the mic, Kendrick’s spit game is unmatched…even on the radio. Promo stop to be certain, but take in the insights the young lion drops (along with news of what’s to come in his music/career)…
Kendrick Lamar stopped by The Whoolywood Shuffle promoting his latest single “i”. He speaks on traveling to St. Louis to gain Ron Isley’s permission for use of his “That Lady” sample. K. Dot also confirms George Clinton collaborations are underway.
There are also motivational gems contained within the interview. One being that Kendrick emphasizes the basis of challenging yourself. He said “Challenge yourself, and don’t take instances for granted.” “Whether it’s a 16, a hook, or 4 bars challenge yourself. And this is why Hip-Hop is at a point where creativity is stagnant, because artists aren’t challenging themselves.”

Kendrick Lamar’s Home Sweet Home
Hey. Let’s go over Ken‘and’nem house for a minute. You know…Ken…Kendrick Lamar. Yeah, you can roll. But respect the man’s home though. It’s nice.
And by nice. I mean nice…and at a reasonable price. Imagine that: Rap putting the pause on rhymes about opulence and dreams of such. To most of us, “making it” is a nice home with a manageable mortgage we can eventually pay off. And we expect rappers to buy their moms houses, then ball out of control in a mansion (rented or, preferably, mortgaged). So, I was more than pleasantly surprised to see Hip-Hop’s Black Hippie really show some sense when dropping dollars and cents on a crib.
If only MTV ‘Cribs’ was around to show this house off. Situated on a 7800-square foot lot an hour east of Los Angeles (California, USA). Just a bit over a half million bucks to get. Flexing, but not too much.
Salute, Kendric Lamar. Real Hip-Hop. Real responsible with the cash while it’s flowing.

Kendrick has done some great interviews, and his first interview from Asian is another gem. Kendrick Lamar on Ice Cube’s Influence & Comparisons To Bob Dylan on ‘The Arsenio Hall Show’ (Video)
It’s kinda of wild to see Kendrick Lamar on The Arsenio Hall Show because when the show was poppin’ back in the 90s Kendrick was probably just a toddler. It’s rather special to see Arsenio Hall’s return to late night television & one of his first guests just so happens to be a ‘g.o.o.d. kid’ from the ‘m.a.a.d. city’ of Compton California. Check out video of his performance on the show with Schoolboy Q after the jump below….
