Oddisee – “CounterClockwise” (Video)
Oddisee’s produced a li’l jazzy some’n some’n for you all to grove to. It’s like he’s rhyming right in the grooves of the track, too (for all you heads that remember when vinyl was king). The “CounterClockwise” single will definitely be on his album “The Good Fight” (due out May 5, 2015).
“CounterClockwise” is about being there for people & them working against you as a result. Becoming the bearer of their problems because they know you can handle it.
– Oddisee
Interesting. Enjoy the visuals. See if you get what Oddisee is trying to get across while he’s walking across, here to there.

Oddisee x Phonte – “Requiem”
“I got the blues; and I watch the news. Like, n!gga what the f#ck I’m supposed to tell my kids?”
Jazzy bluesy bap joint “Requiem” is from the forthcoming Mello Music Group compilation album “Persona” (due out March 10, 2015; but you can hit the pre-order link below). Of course, Oddisee is on the beat (double duty). Here’s more.
Persona unveils the murderer’s row that is the Mello roster of 2015. Oddisee, Apollo Brown, yU, L’Orange, Red Pill, Open Mike Eagle, Rapper Big Pooh, Quelle Chris. The stars of the present teamed with timeless innovators like Phonte (Little Brother), Blockhead, Ras Kass, Gift of Gab (Blackalicious), Oh No, Masta Ace, and Bilal Salaam. The result is something that binds current greats with the pioneers who paved the asphalt. It’s both a historical moment and hard as hell.
If most compilations are nothing more than a loosely thrown together collection of songs, Persona boasts meticulous focus. These aren’t spare tracks, they’re potent messages and poisonous darts. “Requiem†finds Phonte and Oddisee indicting American racism and Xenophobia with fury and precision…

Oddisee – “The Goings On†feat. Good Compny (Official Video)
“The Goings On” is dope! It’s Good Compny accompaniment makes it so soulful. Most important, it’s REAL; part of Oddisee’s “Tangible Dream.”
I discovered that I can make a career in an arena dominated by artists that sell false dreams. I realized that although the masses may not know of my body of work, it doesn’t take the whole world to have the world I want. “Tangible Dream” is a mix-tape dedicated to the deconstruction of our traditional ideas of success & shedding light on the possibility of a sustainable rap life.
These rhymes were written in economy class seats, these beats were produced on long bus trips & these songs were recorded in airbnb apartments. All I want to do is make music for a living so that I can live to make music. The only dreams I’m interested in are the ones I can grasp. It just so happens that anything you want bad enough can be obtained. Perhaps the world may never know of my accomplishments but accomplishments they are nonetheless.
– Oddisee
Bam! Check this out. Feel it. Then, assuming you will like how it feels, we put the link to cop “Tangible Dream” below.
