With the passage of time AND all the police involved tragedy going on today, who can remember? And with all the unwarranted KILLING happening to us, it is really hard to laugh anymore. Crazy thing is… there seems to be NOTHING we can do to GUARANTEE living through a police encounter nowadays. Truth is, the time for folly is at an end. Hence the #WeAreHere Movement and the video above.

Having spent the better part of the last three decades on the radio and on the roads, Angie “The Voice of New York” Martinez has a hell of a lot of stories to tell. There are a lot of gems in her new memoir—My Voice, which is packed with previously untold tales about everyone from Tupac to Wendy Williams to Rihanna and is out now—but, figuring there is still more to mine, we asked her to come into The FADER offices to film an episode of Everything You Need To Know. If you’ve been following JAYFORCE.COM regularly then you already know I’m a fan of Stacy Barthe’s music. The Grammy nominated singer & songwriter has been crafting huge hits for various names in the game from Rihanna, Katy Perry, Britney Spears & more. She even was the voice on the hook of the T.I. & Andre 3000 standout collaboration “Sorry” although she wasn’t initially listed on the credits. It goes without saying she’s been in the background far too long. This new record “Hell Yeah” produced by K. Roosevelt featuring Rick Ross should help bring more attention her way further highlighting just how talented this woman is. This joint is solid & Rick Ross doesn’t sound out of place on this soulful joint. Stacy is now signed to John Legend’s HomeSchool/Motown label & things appear to be moving as she’s set to release her upcoming “P.S., I Love You” EP on Valentines Day. Good music, real lyrics, great vocals….yeah it’s a wRAP.

Songwriter Stacy Barthe is largely known behind the scenes for penning some great songs for Rihanna & numerous artists in the music business. Not surprisingly the songs she wrote for Rihanna were the only one’s I dug from Rihanna the most. Now Stacy Barthe is stepping out from behind the scenes of her Surf Club writing team to focus on her own singing talents in releasing this new video for “Never Did” off of her “Sincerely Yours, Stacy Barthe” EP. Personally I would like to see her have a creative video for “Without You” featuring Frank Ocean or “The Only One” which are my personal favorites from her EP. But after watching this video she maybe doing just that in setting up all the songs in parts like a short film of sorts…

The big budget film based on the Hasbro game ‘Battleship’ is due in theaters in 2012 & even pop R&B singer Rihanna makes a cameo in the film. Visually this looks like it could be a good movie if the writing & acting falls into place like it should. Otherwise this Battleship will surely sink at the box office if they rely on special effects alone.
