iPad Steals the Show at Winter Namm 2011
The Namm Conference is the place where all of the new music gear gets its debut. This year there seems to be a move to incorporate the Apple iPad to control software and hardware. Here is a look at a few of the newest products
This is the Akai Synth Station 49 a midi controller with an iPad doc. This station when paired with an ipad gives you tons of sound presets, usb midi control and a daw software that will allow you to work independent of your desktop or laptop.
This is the iDJ from Numark. For DJs the new technology used today is a bit of a controversy and I’m sure this thing will send more classic DJ’s into a frenzy over how the skill and art of DJing is being killed by technology. This thing has pitch and bpm matching automatically and works with nearly any DJ app available for the iPad. Behold the future!
This is by far the most impressive piece I have seen from the show. The Alesis studio dock gives iPad users the ability to turn their iPad into a sound interface. It gives live performers control of the EQ’s and mixes while on stage and also you can record and create music. You can use your existing midi and usb devices with this thing and it seems like the next step in digital music creation.
