Danielle “DanI” Maltimore, a profound singer/songwriter, was born and raised in Birmingham, AL. DanI started singing at the tender age of 8 in her home church’s choir. As she grew older, she discovered that she had a love for music. At the age of 13, DanI said to her parents “I want to be a singer”. Her father has been quoted as saying “Having a lawyer or doctor in my house would be great, but undeniably she’s been a shining star since birth.” DanI is currently a member of the UAB Gospel choir, under the leadership and direction of Dr. Kevin P. Turner, with whom she has toured the world. DanI was also featured on two songs on UAB’s album, Mirrors. DanI is quoted as saying “If it wasn’t for Dr. Kevin Turner teaching, giving tools, and showing me how to work my abilities, I wouldn’t have entered into the industry.” DanI was chosen to open up for major artists such as: Kenny Lattimore, Chrisette Michele and Charlie Wilson.
