Memphis’ own Cino (born Eddie Meeks), one-third of the Atlanta-based super group Prophetix (with Mello Melanin and Producer/DJ Jon Doe), got his start in the mid-90’s and has kept it moving with countless shows, guest appearances, and several EP, LP, and mixtape releases. Cino has stayed active in the game for the better part of two decades and has toured with KRS-One (as part of Prophetix). Having lived Hip-Hop all that time – and having seen and learned what Hip Hop is from one of the most influential artists of the genre – Cino has a clear understanding of what Hip-Hop culture has been and is. Moreover, Cino has a strongly held opinion on where he is in relation to Hip-Hop: “I’m cut from a cloth that is now considered obsolete by many, but I’m [willing] to put my pedigree on display where ever and whenever.”
