Azon Blaze and the homie SkyBlew have teamed up like a North Carolina Batman and Robin (read: Dynamic Duo) known as Blaze The Sky. The video above is for their single – “That Ain’t Street” (produced by DJ Qvali) – off their mixtape, “Double Dragon (Hosted By Skaz Digga).” And guess what? It’s out now. And you know what else? We know SkyBlew from numerous posts here. Here’s a bit more on Azon Blaze. Born Benjamin Ward, Azon Blaze was born in Raleigh (North Carolina, USA); growing up in nearby Apex. With two older cousins who were into Hip-Hop and a father who was a local DJ, at the time, Azon Blaze freestyling at age 12… penning his rhymes soon after… and recording them soon after that. And it don’t stop! Scavenging for recording equipment, teaching himself how to record, mix and master himself… eventually enrolling in North Carolina A&T State University’s media management program (no doubt to learn to handle his own business), he’s has been in recording overdrive ever since. From 2006 to 2009, Azon Blaze recalls doing around 100 songs; eventually meeting up with SkyBlew. and forming Blaze The Sky. The duo would go on to blaze the stage on bills with the likes of 9th Wonder, Kendrick Lamar, Kooley High, Cesar Comanche, Rapsody, and Freebass 808.
