Vinyl Destination | Ep. 9: European Tour With DJ Jazzy Jeff (Video)

The world famous DJ Jazzy Jeff returns with episode 9 of his Vinyl Destination series. In this segment Jazzy Jeff & his crew are embarking on the last week of their world tour but this leg finds them in Europe hitting up Norway, Sweden, Ireland, & Germany where they just so happen to also bump into R&B singer Estelle. A few other hilarious situations occur when DJ Jazzy Jeff’s emcee Skillz speaks of a wild fan who have Ruff Ryders tattoo next to his pubic hairs while another fan sports a rainbow-colored Wu-Tang Clan logo on his chest. Not to mention the team discovering some random dude in their hotel lobby watching gay porn in public view. This is truly different in Europe indeed….

The magnificent DJ Jazzy Jeff returns with episode 8 of his web series ‘Vinyl Destination’. After completing his tour of the the Middle East in episode 7, the world traveling producer & spinmaster arrives in Europe for a series of dates in Paris & Norway before running into a few issues in Russia but it was all love. We’d like call this episode ‘From Russia With Love’ for DJ Jazzy Jeff. Yippee Kai-Yay Mother Russia!

Great to see the success former Atlanta resident Walshy Fire has been having down in Miami especially as a member of Major Lazer with Philly DJ/producer Diplo. Seemed like yesterday when I’d always see him at many of the reggae events around the city of Atlanta. Fast forward several years & he continues to be active down there in Miami as well. As many people arrive in Miami this weekend primarily for the Winter Music Conference, Walshy hosts this special “Potato Travel Guide” to Miami for those who are in town now & those who plan to visit in the near future….

Without a doubt Miguel’s Grammy awarding winning album “Kaleidoscope Dream” was one of the best projects to come out in the last year fueled largely in part by his mega hit single “Adorn”. Now as Miguel begins his tour for the album he wants his fans to experience the ride with him in these new videos he’ll be releasing as he goes from city to city. The World Famous DJ Jazzy Jeff finishes up his Asian tour with his crew after hitting various cities in Thailand & finishing up in Tokyo. There was a short scare for everyone when the world famous DJ played a game of ‘Where’s Waldo?’ after he went missing almost before showtime in Japan. Not sure if it’s a joke or not, but in a rather ironic twist of things the cameras catch DJ Jazzy Jeff in a record store with an image of someone else impersonating DJ Jazzy Jeff & selling his mixes in Japan.

Eddie Huang’s interesting food & travel based program “Fresh Off The Boat With Eddie Huang” has had a very good first season with VICE. In this final season episode of the show Eddie takes his talents BEYOND the glitzy lights of South Beach & ventures into the neighborhoods for the best restaurants & food tourists overlook when visiting Miami. True to the mission of his show Eddie stays off the beaten path by spending time with the porn industry’s “World Famous” Bang Bros team & adult film star Jada Stevens, enjoys some time with the unofficial Mayor of Miami Uncle Luke, hits Little Haiti to enjoy some authentic Haitian cuisine, & enjoys a Miami Dolphins tailgate. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect for Eddie & his producers at VICE to release this Miami edition of the show while the city has been enjoying the success of another Miami Heat NBA Championship run & wins being posted by the nationally ranked University of Miami Hurricanes basketball team. Overall it’s a good look all around. This episode is in three parts so check out Parts 2 & 3 after the jump….

Rihanna’s Barbados 2013 Tourism Campaign (Video)

I’ve been to Barbados twice & it’s definitely a beautiful country. I’ve been there for the Barbados Jazz Festival & even served as a reporter & live broadcasted my radio show, The Beatz & Lyrics Show, from the festival.
Great place to take your lady, but for a while the eastern most Caribbean Island may have been still a best kept secret for some. Barbados relies heavily on the tourism industry as its primary engines driving the economy probably more than many other countries located in the Caribbean. It’s a no brainer to have Barbados’ most famous daughter, Rihanna, to help promote the Bajan culture in this new tourism campaign.
