The “Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men” Documentary Comes To Showtime This Spring (Trailer)
ShoDocs is a good look for the Wu. A mini-series telling of a story all the heads want to hear – on the history of one of Hip-Hop’s most influential crews ever.
Showtime Documentary Films dives deeper into the music documentary space with Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men, a four-part limited docuseries from filmmaker Sacha Jenkins (BURN MOTHERF*CKER, BURN!) that transcends the music documentary genre by creating a new lane that merges music, socio-cultural commentary and intimate family portrait.
Matthew McConaughey & Snoop Dogg Star In “The Beach Bum” (Trailer)
You don’t sell acid, do you?
So that’s how we are starting this, huh? McConaughey is hilarious! Snoop is right in there getting comedic jabs in, too. AND Martinnnn and…
THE BEACH BUM follows the outrageous misadventures of Moondog (Matthew McConaughey), a rebellious burnout who only knows how to live life by his own rules. Complete with an all-star cast including Snoop Dogg, Isla Fisher, Zac Efron, Jimmy Buffett, Martin Lawrence, and Jonah Hill, THE BEACH BUM is the wildly original and subversive new comedy from writer/director Harmony Korine (Spring Breakers).
Horror: Whats Wrong With Miles? ‘The Prodigy’ Debuts February 8th (Trailer)
FINALLY!!!
Hollywood looks like they are getting the point of what a horror movie is supposed to be… the presentation of a relentless evil force that scares you to death AND fills you with despair because it/he/she is GOING to KILL you (or take your soul or whatever) and yours… and there is NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT!
Horror is not just ‘thriller’ or ‘scare ride’ or ‘heart racing terror’… Naaaah, son! HORROR includes the realization that the very, very horrible thing is coming… for YOU. Think ‘Dracula’ at your front door, the devil in ‘The Exorcist’ or the Damien ‘Omen’ franchise…
OHHHH… and speaking of kids, bad kids, and the very bad things they can do… “The Prodigy” trailer is looking like some true HORROR! Yeezus West this kid looks f**ked up in the best scary movie way!
What’s wrong with Miles? From the producer of Exorcism of Emily Rose comes a new vision of unimaginable horror. Watch the full trailer for The Prodigy, starring Taylor Schilling and Jackson Robert Scott, in theaters February 8.
#MilesIsDangerous #WhatsWrongWithMiles
(All that said, I really don’t like watching horror movies. I just really appreciate it; like other movie genres, when the films stay true to their school’s rules.)

Keanu Reeves Is Back For ‘Chapter 3’ Of The John Wick Franchise (Trailer)
John Wick was retired when we started this thing right? But folks had to f**k with him (sigh)… You’d think they’d have learned to leave him alone by now.
Then again, Keanu’s character does end up killing most everybody he ‘teaches’ that lesson in his movies. Good for moviegoers, because we keep getting movies full of good, grimy, popcorn-munching azz kickery. Plus, this go ’round… Halle Berry

Jeffrey Wright Stars In HBO’s New Prison Drama “O.G.” (Trailer)
Been following (Jeffrey Wright) since ‘Boardwalk Empire’ days. This one right here. If it got any realer, it’d be a documentary. Realistic, accomplished actors alongside real inmates who are ‘acting’ (because HBO) but not ‘playing,’ filmed in a real prison.
O.G. follows Louis (Jeffrey Wright) a maximum-security prison inmate whose impending release is upended when he takes a new arrival under his wing. Starring Jeffrey Wright, Theothus Carter and William Fichtner. O.G. premieres February 23 at 10PM.
– HBO
And the trailer looks to tease a series that addresses very complex issues: Like when the lady tells Louis (Wright) that she believed he should stay imprisoned for life, even if she believed he was remorseful or reformed. Can a prison system truly reform the incarcerated? If so, is that justice for their victims or loved ones? For society? What about justice/protections/respect for inmates who serve?
This should be good.
Get A First Look At “Fast Color,” The Acclaimed Superpowered Flick Coming To Theaters (Trailer)
Coming off a good SXSW run. Cool. Characterizing the hero’s powers as she experiences them during use. Interesting perspective and very cool, too. Powerful abilities on top of that. Abilities which, of course, put her on the run. Toss in tension with the family who she hopes will help her… and action, drama, sci-fi… BOOM!
It’s Summer, And Spider-Man Is “Far From Home” (Trailer)
SPIDER-MAN IS BACK! Here is the new trailer for #SpiderManFarFromHome 🕷 pic.twitter.com/07oe93eEgT
— IGN (@IGN) January 15, 2019
Okay, watching this trailer should leave you with [at least] two takeaways: (1) Just when you don’t expect it, Nick Fury will come through, AND (2) Nick Fury came through, Peter… which is… Why. You. NEVER. Leave. Your. Spidey. Suit. At. Home!!
(Acceptable alternate takeaway: Auntie is super cute. Looks like she could make Happy reeeeally HAPPY. Haha!)
Season 2 Of ‘Future Man’ Debuts On Hulu (Series Trailer)
Looks HILARIOUS! Wonder how I slept on this… The trailer alone seems like something I would have checked out by now, but I am just coming across a trailer for Hulu’s (and Seth Rogen’s) “Future Man” (now in Season 2). What do you think? Worth trying out a subscription?
Of course, they’re in the future. The show’s not called Present Man. Future Man Season 2…

DC’s “Young Justice” Series Continues With Season 3… Finally (Trailer)
Don’t know how deep y’all go into the whole DC cartoon thing, but Cartoon Network had a good thing going with “Young Justice” (then dropped it). The series focused on the young’ns in the Justice League. You’d get dashes of Batman, Green Lantern corpsmen (plural, because Hal Jordan and John Stewart were on there) and others… but most of the time was spent on the likes of Nightwing, Aqualad, Artemis, and Connor Kent.
Sidebar: We REALLY don’t get enough Connor Kent in the DCU storylines. Hopefully, the coming “Titans” and “Young Justice” eps handle that problem.
Anyway, here’s a trailer for the long-awaited return of “Young Justice”. Out now on DC’s streaming service.

This Is “Us”… But This Family’s Facing Way More Drama… And Horror (Trailer)
See? Just like Jordan Peele’s “Get Out” this movie starts one way, hints at another and goes in a WHOLE other OTHER direction. True rollercoaster movie (e.g. anticipate the thrills & chills) experience coming to theaters soon enough.
I Can’t Wait: US! https://t.co/3BsaSJpKR6

DC Universe’s “Doom Patrol” Series Premieres February 15, 2019 (Trailer)
Wooowww! Ohhhhh, so that’s how they are doing it! See, DC Universe’s series “Titans” has everyone I remember on the ‘Teen Titans’ I remember from the comics I read… except Cyborg. I was thinking, “Since Cyborg was part of the ‘Justice League’ on the big screen he cannot just show up on a streaming series.”
Oh yes, he can. Plus, ‘Doom Patrol’ was an episode in “Titans” season 1. Bet your pockets there will be a crossover that puts Cy down with the ‘Titans’ at least temporarily. DOPE!
Watch the first teaser trailer for DC Universe’s “Doom Patrol,” starring Matt Bomer as Larry Trainor/Negative Man, Brendan Fraser as Cliff Steele/Robotman, April Bowlby as Elasti-Woman, Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane, Joivan Wade as Victor Stone/Cyborg, and Timothy Dalton as Dr. Niles Caulder/The Chief.

New casting for ‘The Chief’ huh? Interesting.

“Aquaman” Debuted As The #1 Movie (Video)
Have you seen the latest DC movie “Aquaman” yet? Looks like DC is hitting the come-from-behind trail hard with this one. Here’s the last teaser for the movie that took the top spot this past weekend (according to Variety, see their take on the flick after the jump).
Loving the way they got the archnemesis Black Manta’s look just right (e.g. like we remember from back in the day, but modernized a just a touch).

Certainly, 4-IZE has a story to tell. We in ATL on the scene certainly know a lot, but not all of it. However, there are folks in other parts of the world not blessed with the 4-sight on 4-IZE… yet. This documentary is set to change that.

Some ‘Fast N Furious’ style added to the ‘cop-buddy action flick meets Star Wars‘ feel makes for what looks like a great time at the theater in the coming year. Peep the trailer.

Dick Cheney Had A ‘Different Understanding’ Of The Vice Presidency (Trailer)
Is somebody risking too much for real behind this? I mean… we know Cheney was the Veep to joke on… but you might find more ‘realness’ in this real funny trailer for “Vice.” Maybe a bit too real for the ‘shadow president.’ Check it.
