Ghost in the Shell Trailer (Trailer)

This ain’t Black Widow. Nah, no Romanoff. No Avenger movie here. While Marvel takes a break from her characters, ScoJo is going dolo in the sci-fi action genre. This “Ghost In The Shell” teaser is dope in the eeriest ways. But the filmmaker doesn’t skimp on the sexy either: Skin tights on during the fights, and ScoJo is kissing a girl (ever so gently…nice). See her pitch and trailer above.

Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, “Ghost In The Shell” follows Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.

“Ghost In The Shell”, starring Scarlett Johansson, is coming to theaters March 31, 2017.

Comedy: “The Holiday Roast” feat. The SquADD (Video)

It’s a double-dose of funny doing double duty. “The Holiday Roast” above is actually a promo vid for the holiday hilarity that just hit theaters entitled “Almost Christmas” AND it’s a damn funny janking session!

(‘Janking’ is ‘cracking jokes’ or ‘joining’ or ‘taking shots’…. or… ahhh just watch… you’ll get it!)

When the boyfriend Trevor comes in, though… daaaamn! Bwaahaaaaa!

Attraction (Official Trailer #2)

I do not understand a thing they are saying in this “Attraction” trailer, but I get it; know what I’m saying? All Greek to me. Russian actually. But dope trailer nonetheless. That whatchamacallit in there… looks like something off “Ben 10” right?

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 (Trailer)

They’re baaaack. I have actually grown to like the zanier movie cousins in the Marvel Universe family – Deadpool (okay, zany AND macabre), Ant-Man, and now this new Guardians Of The Galaxy. Dave Bautista & Chris Pratt are both a fool in this trailer; had me cracking up with over a hug. Baaahahaaa! “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2” is due out in the Universe in 2017.

(At the end… aaaaw, look at Li’l Groot Root.)

Logan (Trailer)

Now THIS is how you go out, Hugh Jackman! If this “Logan” movie delivers like its trailer is teasing, the Marvel Universe is in for some of the best Wolverine watching to top off First Quarter 2017. Hope so. Jackman says this will be his last movie playing the iconic X-Men badass. Should be something to remember.

And what’s this? The Professor has brought a new gifted young’un to Logan to protect…and maybe train up? EPIC!

Barry (Netflix Teaser)

Not sure how Hollywood figured out that we’d need something a bit more palatable to wash away the nasty politics of the current U.S. Presidential Campaign. But then again, looking back, how could we not. At the very least, we’ve known and come to realize that a wildly popular – and by most accounts credible & and accomplished – President and First Lady were leaving the White House. We knew that there were no contenders to take up residence with the Obamas’ mix of composure, competence and charisma. That was sad enough.

And just when we thought we’d dug through the mud & sh!t and hit rock bottom, somebody threw down a jackhammer so we could dig for oil and bodies and get even nastier. Did you SEE the 3rd Presidential Debate? The candidates can’t even shake hands. But that phase is over now. Early voting has begun and the dust will settle after November 8th. Just in time for us to enjoy some farewell level good cinema.

Remember the future First Couple’s first date movie (“Southside With You”) we posted on here? Well, Netflix is bringing us another back, back in the day flick… talking about way back when Barack Obama was “Barry.” It won’t have as softened a tone as the aforementioned ‘date movie’ but viewers can draw strength knowing that even their President had it rough.

A young Barack Obama, known to his friends as “Barry,” arrives in New York City in the fall of 1981 to begin his junior year at Columbia University. In a crime-ridden and racially charged environment, Barry finds himself pulled between various social spheres and struggles to maintain a series of increasingly strained relationships with his Kansas-born mother, his estranged Kenyan father, and his classmates. Barry is the story of a young man grappling with those same issues that his country, and arguably the world, are still coming to terms with 35 years later. On Netflix December 16.

Check out the trailer above. Should be good watching.

Allied (Trailer)

“Inglourious Basterds,” “Fury,” and now “Allied.” To say Brad Pitt has a thing for doing World War II era films would be an understatement. This one looks to be a bit more on the drama-intrigue side of his storytelling spectrum. Good bet for a good movie though. Pitt usually does not put out trash.

“Allied” is the story of intelligence officer Max Vatan (Pitt), who in 1942 North Africa encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Cotillard) on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Reunited in London, their relationship is threatened by the extreme pressures of the war.

Sleepless (Trailer)

Tell you what… this movie’s promo is gonna put Jamie Foxx front and center, but consider that this is another chance for T.I. to get his weight up on the big screen. Great trailer promising incredible action and intrigue. Plus, bank on some twists. Hope it does as well as it looks so far.

And messing with a man’s son… a supercop known to pop a glock… NOT a good idea… unless you are in the movie audience watching it!

(Hey, Gabrille Union. We see you in there.)

Power Rangers (Trailer)

Okay, now this trailer makes this “Power Rangers” movie look official. Another TV action fantasy – like Star Trek – hits the big screen blockbuster style. Now, I grew up seeing Star Trek re-runs on TV. By the time “Power Rangers” got going on the small screen, I was in college. It was campy, maaaad campy, but I will admit watching it from the start (remembering old repackaged stunt-action series like Spectreman and Goldon back back-in-the-day). But this 2017 big screen launch… they’re taking it seriously. Top of the cast includes Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Banks. Watch the trailer!

Get Out (Trailer)

You see Jordan Peele – formerly of Comedy Central’s Key & Peele – on this and you are waiting to laugh; just holding your breath. You might wanna let that go, and take a few more. This gets real intense real quick. Says this is from Peele’s mind. What part? Wowwwww…

In Universal Pictures’ Get Out, a speculative thriller from Blumhouse (producers of The Visit, Insidious series and The Gift) and the mind of Jordan Peele, when a young African-American man visits his white girlfriend’s family estate, he becomes ensnared in a more sinister real reason for the invitation.

Now that Chris (Daniel Kaluuya, Sicario) and his girlfriend, Rose (Allison Williams, Girls), have reached the meet-the-parents milestone of dating, she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate with Missy (Catherine Keener, Captain Phillips) and Dean (Bradley Whitford, The Cabin in the Woods).

At first, Chris reads the family’s overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter’s interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he could have never imagined.

Equal parts gripping thriller and provocative commentary, Get Out is written and directed by Peele (Key and Peele) and produced by Blumhouse’s Jason Blum, as well as Sean McKittrick (Donnie Darko, The Box), Peele and Edward H. Hamm Jr. (The Box, Bad Words). The film also stars Caleb Landry Jones (X-Men series), Milton “Lil Rel” Howery (The Carmichael Show), Betty Gabriel (The Purge: Election Year), Marcus Henderson (Pete’s Dragon) and Keith Stanfield (Straight Outta Compton).

Truthfully, this could kind of play like a long Key and Peele skit. Like, if they were to come out and talk the audience down and make ’em chuckle at the end. Wouldn’t count on it though.

13TH (Trailer)

Historical hooray for the 13th Amendment, right? Because it freed the slaves…right? But wait. Hold the Constitution a minute. What if the passage of the 13th Amendment actually gave way to 150 years of oppression of Black people? That’s what Ava DuVernay’s documentary “13TH” posits. And it’s not ‘what if’ rather ‘what it is.’ Watch the Netflix trailer above. Wow…

The title of Ava DuVernay’s extraordinary and galvanizing documentary “13TH” refers to the 13th Amendment to the Constitution, which reads “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States.” The progression from that second qualifying clause to the horrors of mass criminalization and the sprawling American prison industry is laid out by DuVernay with bracing lucidity. With a potent mixture of archival footage and testimony from a dazzling array of activists, politicians, historians, and formerly incarcerated women and men, DuVernay creates a work of grand historical synthesis.

The Founder (Trailer)

Always heard this story told and retold (usually as part of an Amway pitch… no shots, just saying). Very interesting though, never thought of Ray Kroc as such a shark. Check out this trailer for “The Founder,” starring Michael Keaton.

The story of McDonald’s founder, Ray Kroc.

Long way from Batman movies for Keaton. Looks good.

More than one million Mexicans are of African descent, yet this heritage is often forgotten, denied, and many times stigmatized, both in Mexico and in Chicanx communities in the United States. Fist Fight (Trailer)

You know, Ice Cube does really well on films in which he stars opposite an actor who can deliver high-energy foolery – Chris Tucker, Mike Epps, Kevin Hart… you get it. And now Charlie Day, seemingly a bit subdued in the trailer. But bet on some of that “Always Sunny In Philadelphia,” “Pacific Rim,” “Bad Bosses” crazy coming through his character as he is forced to face down Ice Cube’s character. Yeah. You read right. How else would they get to the point of a “Fist Fight.”

Ice Cube and Charlie Day star as high school teachers prepared to solve their differences the hard way in the comedy “Fist Fight,” directed by Richie Keen (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”) – in theaters February 17!

On the last day of the year, mild-mannered high school English teacher Andy Campbell (Day) is trying his best to keep it together amidst senior pranks, a dysfunctional administration and budget cuts that put jobs on the line. But things go from bad to worse when he accidentally crosses his much tougher and deeply feared colleague, Ron Strickland (Cube), who challenges Campbell to an old-fashioned throw down after school. News of the fight spreads like wildfire and ends up becoming the very thing this school, and Campbell, needed.

Oh damn, Tracy Morgan’s in this! Definitely on the Ice Cube crazy co-star list, too. See you after school in the parking lot, punk. Hahaaa!

Gentrified “Ethnic Cleansing American Style” (Official Theater Trailer)

You cant ignore the racial divide across this country and you cant disregard the financial divide as well. Whether it is large metropolitan cities like New York, LA as well as mid level cities like Nashville & Birmingham the divide can be seen.  Mainstream media has ignored how the best school systems end up on one side of the city along with better places to shop at.  Or how areas that were predominantly black and low income get taken over by non black Americans along with new industry and better security following as well.

Black Channel Films decided to stop waiting for the mainstream to tell the story of Gentrification “Ethnic Cleansing American Style”.  This is a powerful film that will be released later this year.  We will keep you updated here at Jayforce.com on the release and theaters it will play in across the country.  We will definitely be at the Atlanta screening. The film has already been shot but you can get involved with helping to market and advertise the film with contributing to their indiegogo campaign.  Make sure you witness the story that the national media has ignored!

Marshawn Lynch On ‘Running Wild With Bear Grylls’ (Trailer)

Tell you what… Marshawn Lynch might be done with pro football, but we are not done watching him go ‘Beast Mode.’ This is a definitely different field of play. But on an outdoor adventure with Bear Grylls, there is not much time for ‘play’ anyway. Watch the trailer for Lynch’s episode of Running Wild With Bear Grylls.

Plucked from a medieval tower along the Corsica coastline, Bear and Super Bowl Champion Marshawn Lynch are dropped deep in a rugged mountain range where they navigate cliffs, dark chasms, and come face-to-face with the secretive French Foreign Legion. Spying a wild hog, the pair pursues the beast, but securing it for dinner will require Marshawn to dig deeper than he ever did on the gridiron. Along the way, Marshawn details his upbringing in Oakland, his “beast” mentality on the field, and his unexpected retirement.
