The Last App She May Ever Download, “Countdown” Comes To Theaters October 25th (Trailer)
Nope, nope, naw hell!!
I remember that commercial that talked about that phone number you could call to find out when you were going to die. No way I was calling then… no way I would download this sh!t now. Yeah, yeah, ha ha, laugh and say, “It’s just a movie all you want” but nah…
In COUNTDOWN, when a young nurse (Elizabeth Lail) downloads an app that claims to predict exactly when a person is going to die, it tells her she only has three days to live. With time ticking away and death closing in, she must find a way to save her life before time runs out.

This Thanksgiving In Theaters: Tom Hanks Asks, “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” (Trailer)
Best. Casting. EVER! Get your issue of tissues, because the sweet memories of Mister Rogers alone might bring a tear to your eyes. Just imagine what is gonna happen when the Oscar-winning Tom Hanks brings him back to life on the big screen.
Tom Hanks portrays Mister Rogers in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, a timely story of kindness triumphing over cynicism, based on the true story of a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and journalist Tom Junod. After a jaded magazine writer (Emmy winner Matthew Rhys) is assigned a profile of Fred Rogers, he overcomes his skepticism, learning about empathy, kindness, and decency from America’s most beloved neighbor.

Good story to tell. Guaranteed good ticket for a film to tug at the heartstrings.

Naomie Harris Is “Black And Blue” And On The Wrong Side Of The ‘Thin Blue Line’ (Trailer)
Why should you have to choose? @NaomieHarris and @Tyrese star in #BlackAndBlueMovie – watch the trailer now. pic.twitter.com/PY9kALn2fn
— Black and Blue (@BlackBlueMovie) June 24, 2019
These streets are a war zone.
True that. And this movie is true to that. We know that ‘boys in blue’ can leave the boys in the hood “Black And Blue.” However, this ain’t quite that, esp. for Naomie Harris. It can get really real [dangerous] when those in blue are Black… and up against their own. Edgy, nail-biting trailer!
(And wow! Black Lightning’s Nafessa Williams AND Marvel’s Luke Cage’s Mike Colter AND Captain America: The Winter Soldier’s Frank Grillo are in this, too? Screen action veterans, all across the sci-fi comic hero universes!!)
“Point Blank” Debuts On Netflix On July 12th (Trailer)
Ohhh yooooo!!! That’s Anthony ‘Falcon’ Mackie and Frank ‘Rumlow’ Grillo from the MCU. Remember when these guys were enemies in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier?” Well, in this flick, let’s call them “frenemies”…
When his pregnant wife is kidnapped and held as collateral, Paul, an ER nurse, must team with the badly injured career criminal and murder suspect under his charge in order to save the lives of his wife and unborn child. Pitted against rival gangs and a deadly ring of corrupt cops, the unlikely duo find a way to survive together in the fight of their lives. A gritty, action-packed thriller starring Anthony Mackie and Frank Grillo only on Netflix July 12, 2019.

Wonder if they will ‘recycle’ any lines from “Winter Soldier”… like, “Shut the hell up”… and fight!

“Queen & Slim” Debuts In Theaters This Coming November (Trailer)
So they’re making “Queen & Slim” out to be the Black “Bonnie & Clyde”… and a dope version at that!
From trailblazing, Emmy-winning writer Lena Waithe (Netflix’s Master of None) and Melina Matsoukas, the visionary director of some of this generation’s most powerful pop-culture experiences, including Beyonce’s “Formation†and the Nike “Equality†campaign, comes Makeready’s unflinching new drama, “Queen & Slim.”
While on a forgettable first date together in Ohio, a Black man (Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya) and a Black woman (Jodie Turner-Smith, in her first starring feature-film role), are pulled over for a minor traffic infraction. The situation escalates, with sudden and tragic results, when the man kills the police officer in self-defense. Terrified and in fear for their lives, the man, a retail employee, and the woman, a criminal defense lawyer, are forced to go on the run. But the incident is captured on video and goes viral, and the couple unwittingly become a symbol of trauma, terror, grief and pain for people across the country.

Octavia Spencer & Kelvin Harrison Jr. Have A Very Bad Teacher-Student Relationship (Trailer)
Gotta admit this trailer touched a nerve. Several. Most in the Hip-Hop nation might feel the need to give a “RIP Nipsey Hussle” noting the main character shared the late great’s Eritrean roots. But me, I have been in a very uncomfortable “the teacher doesn’t like me” situation. Not this bad, but bad…
A married couple is forced to reckon with their idealized image of their son, adopted from war-torn Eritrea, after an alarming discovery by a devoted high school teacher threatens his status as an all-star student.

“I Got The Hook Up 2” Coming To Theaters Friday, July 12th (Trailer)
Dude. Can we call this a ‘sequel’ to the initial trailer? Epic followup trailer. This should whet appetites and spur on sales for this “I Got The Hook Up 2.” Sure hope it delivers all it’s teasing… hella sexy baddies with phatties (cheeks for weeks!) and all kinds of hilarity!
Soooo many cameos (and returning cast members) in this, too. Dope!

Documentary Film On Clarence Avant, “The Black Godfather,” Debuts June 7th (Trailer)
WHOA! WHO IS THIS MAN??!!
Well, I dunno about you, but I WILL find out June 7th. I must put an end to the shame of knowing NOTHING about a man, a Black man, that EVERYBODY who is anybody knows and speaks highly of… including TWO former U.S. Presidents!!
Who is The Black Godfather? Witness the exceptional and unlikely rise of Clarence Avant, a music executive who influenced legends such as Bill Withers, Snoop Dogg, Quincy Jones, Muhammad Ali, Hank Aaron, Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton and so many more.

Sarah Connor Hunting Terminators? An ‘Aging Arnold’ Terminator? “Terminator 6” Teases A ‘Dark Fate’ (Trailer)
Don’t know how they will pull this off. Not even sure that that will matter. My final evaluation was ‘done’ when I saw James Cameron at the helm again… AND the director of “Deadpool” on board! Yeah, it’s about to be some ridiculous popcorn munching in theaters. Plus, the witticisms will go way past “hasta la vista, baby.” Bet both pockets and your neighbor’s on that.
Sarah Connor came through RAW with the big gun in this, didn’t she? Don’t know if they even need ‘Old Man’ Terminator (WTF is that gonna be about though?), but he’s in there.
Shout out to The Ghost Rider from Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., Gabriel Luna. Word!

Hip-Hop Drama Film “Beats” Debuts On Netflix This June (Trailer)
So, are we taking the ‘Hustle & Flow’ to Chicago? Ha!
Looks like some craziness, in a good way. The “Beats” and rhymes and life story of this young producer trying to make it in The Chi… compelling. At least that is what the trailer is teasing…
Rise above the noise. Watch the new trailer for BEATS starring Anthony Anderson, Uzo Aduba, Emayatzy Corinealdi and directed by Chris Robinson. On Netflix June 19th.
