Dave Bautista & Brittany Snow Are Trying To Make It Through Martial Law In ‘Bushwick’ (Trailer)

Martial Law in Brooklyn, New York. Sure, that’ll go down smoothly. Eff Sparta… This… Is… Bushwick! A lot of crazy with a promise built right into the trailer above that there is ‘no let up.’ So, we will see Dave Bautista do some more azz kicking outside the wrestling ring, on the big screen, sans any body paint.

(Well, does blood count?)

See The “Black Lightning” Series Join The Arrowverse And Learn ‘Where Heroes Are Born’ (Trailer)

Nice work done for San Diego Comic Con 2017 a while back. Sure they could have just delivered a trailer. By why not beef it up and give the people SO much more. Like an ‘Arrowverse’ lead-in (with all the DC TV heroes on The CW)… THEN hit ’em with the “Black Lightning” in there!

Comedian Hari Kondabolu’s Movie Will Explain “The Problem With Apu” To Us (Trailer)

It’s funny because it’s racist.

Folks (let’s call them ‘the majority’) would probably murmur or outright tell Hari Kondabolu he is being too sensitive about The Simpsons cartoon character Apu; that he should ‘let it go’ as it is ‘just comedy’). But Hari Kondabolu, in fact, HAS let it go. He has let it go for 20+ years. Enough is enough.

So, he made a movie about it. Watch the trailer for it above.

American Experience: Last Days in Vietnam (Documentary Trailer)

Documentarian Rory Kennedy gives us an in-depth look at the final days of the American presence in Saigon. It’s a story where simply following orders would play opposite to doing the right thing. And what do you think heroes do? Could those soldiers and support personnel have lived with themselves getting out safely while leaving South Vietnamese in harm’s way? Even if ordered to do so?

In April of 1975, the North Vietnamese Army was closing in on Saigon as South Vietnamese resistance was crumbling. Approximately 5,000 Americans remained with roughly 24 hours to get out. Their South Vietnamese allies, co-workers, and friends faced certain imprisonment and possible death if they remained behind. With no official evacuation plan in place, the clock ticking, and the city under fire, a number of heroic Americans took matters into their own hands, engaging in unsanctioned and often makeshift operations in a desperate effort to save as many people as possible. In those last days in Vietnam, 135,000 men, women and children managed to escape.

Ken Burns Covers ‘The War’ In This PBS Documentary (Mini-Series Trailer)

We posted a World War I era documentary days ago, got several recent Ken Burns documentary posts – one about the Civil War. But how about Burns taking us to and through World War II? Yep, got that for you. Well, Netflix does. But we have the trailer embedded above.

THE WAR, a seven-part series directed and produced by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, tells the story of the Second World War through the personal accounts of a handful of men and women from four quintessentially American towns. The series explores the most intimate human dimensions of the greatest cataclysm in history – a worldwide catastrophe that touched the lives of every family on every street in every town in America – and demonstrates that in extraordinary times, there are no ordinary lives.

Season 4 Of ‘Gotham’ Premieres Thursday, September 28th, On FOX (Series Trailer)

I’m a Marvel head for the most part, but The CW network’s lineup of DC hero shows AND this FOX series “Gotham” have me looking at DC on TV regularly. Season 3 ended with the young Bruce Wayne character getting into his eventual Batman-like crime combatting business (by giving a couple of thugs the business on the season finale). Here’s the network teaser trailer for the upcoming season.

Looks dope!

‘Team Flash’ Is Trying To Hold Central City Down, But The World Needs Barry Allen Back (Season 4 Trailer)

DC is so wrong for making fans like me wait so long for “The Flash” to return, but this trailer is letting me know the wait is worthwhile. Still think TV Flash (Grant Gustin) should have been in that “Justice League” movie coming up. Ready-made following. Plus the TV show is dope.

Dah well. Gotta wait on them both now anyway. Enjoy the full trailer.

Ken Burns’ “Prohibition” Documentary For PBS Is On Netflix (Trailer)

What a stupid idea it was – that people thought you could actually get away with this. That you could actually ban alcohol… It’s a preposterous idea.

We now have movies and shows like “The Untouchables” and “Boardwalk Empire” to show us just how crazy alcohol prohibition legislation and enforcement was in America. Of course, NOW we see it was doomed to fail. But when the nation was ‘in it’ and trying to ‘legislate morality,’ the government and people who believed taking sinful booze out of society was in its best interest, people who did not agree (and those who sold and used the then illegal substance) were criminalized.

We are going through something similar now. You see where I am going right? I’m sure Ken Burns thought about it, too. You get it yet?

Okay, watch the trailer and everywhere alcohol is referenced, insert marijuana. Hmmmm.

Should be good watching. Catch the PBS doc on Netflix anytime!

Learn About A Pivotal Gallipoli Campaign Of World War I (Documentary Trailer)

Netflix is the place to experience history. Not all the way sure of what draws me to war epics and documentaries, but this trailer is making me think it is time for me to catch another. Want to learn more about Gallipoli, too? Got the Netlfix link at the end.

An epic reconstruction of the battle that changed nations forever: a film of spectacular visual sweep and great emotional power.

It all began as a demonstration of strength against the Ottoman Empire by Great Britain and her allies. It became one of the largest landing operations in history and one of the bloodiest and most controversial battles of the First World War. The campaign affected Turkey, Australia and New Zealand profoundly.

Documentary On Jay-Z & Kanye’s Real Life ‘Idols Become Rivals’ Story (Trailer)

Hulk And Thor Are Fighting? Loki Is Teaming With Both Of Them? It Must Be “Ragnarok” (Video)

Careful Marvel. The Hulk is doing a LOT of talking in this trailer. That’s one of the several ways Ang Lee messed up in ‘that movie we Marvel fans don’t talk about’… and I’m REALLY trying hard to forget that Hulk movie. Keep it to two or three words at a time. Like ‘Hulk SMASH!’

That said, it looks good. The trailer I mean. A lot closer to a “Guardians Of The Galaxy” look and feel. Watch and get ready for November!

Alright, so I am finally caught up on all my backlog of “Arrow” episodes (didn’t get into it until Season 3, shout to the homie SuperKing for recommending it). Thank you Netflix! Caught up on DC watching for now. But I have SOOOOO much Marvel binge watching – Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, AND Iron Fist – to do before Marvel’s The Defenders comes out. If Looks Could Kill… Oh Wait, They Do! “Proud Mary” Features Taraji P. Henson’s Killer Looks And Lots Of Bullets (Trailer)

Something about the way that “Proud Mary” song builds up. The energy. And this namesake movie trailer matched visual to auditory energy beautifully. Speaking of beautiful – one time for Taraji P. Henson (whew)! Her work in “Smoking Aces” should be enough of a resume to let folks know that she is gonna kill in this movie. Well… that… and all the guns in the trailer above.

Get Ready Sonequa Martin-Green, Starring In The New ‘Star Trek’ Series This Fall (Series Trailer)

Watch the explosive trailer for the next chapter of the Star Trek franchise. Star Trek: Discovery premieres September 24th on CBS All Access.

I hope you haven’t sleeping on Sonequa Martin-Green, esp. when she was on Talking Dead, as a guest talking about her role on AMC’s The Walking Dead. She’d be dressed up and made up like WHOA! – in direct contrast to her necessarily understated look on TWD. Well, she is far from dusty on her new show Star Trek: Discovery, though they still play down her beauty (you see it though).

Her ‘death’ on TWD did not hit fans as hard as ‘losing’ other characters because they knew Sonequa would be okay joining an ‘enterprise’ like the Star Trek franchise (see what we did there?). This dope trailer is just more evidence supporting how great this next chapter in the Star Trek lore is gonna be!
