Lip Sync Battle: LL Cool J Hosts – John Legend vs. Common (Video)
Sure, they teamed up musically on that “Selma” movie soundtrack single “Glory”… but now… it’s competition! John Legend versus Common. Yeah, LIP SYNC BATTLE! Spike TV might have something here, at least for now. With A-listers like these miming out performances that channel the likes of Lionel Richie and MC Hammer, whoever wins, everyone wins! Check ’em out above.
(Lionel doing backspins??? No way!)
And the Thursday Night Smackdown that went down between Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jimmy Fallon… Got that hilarity cued up after the jump for you!
John Oliver On Government Surveillance (Video)
Last Week Tonight With John Oliver is good TV (every Sunday night on the “Not Just TV” channel). Think about how funny dude was when he was a correspondent on The Daily Show With Jon Stewart. Now, take away the censoring Comedy Central puts on Stewart’s program. Dangerous! Sure the language is saucier; but the punch Oliver can deliver on his much freer HBO series lets him let loose on socio-political topics. On a recent episode of Last Week Tonight, John Oliver gave his tirade on government surveillance; which included a trip to Russia to talk to famed-and-in-hot-water-with-the-U.S.-government Edward Snowden. Google NSA and leaked documents if you need to catch up.
Content too heavy? Alright, they break it way down…all the way down to dick pics (o…kay… overshare).
Exploring & Breaking Down The True Meaning of the ‘N-Word’ on ‘ZoWhat Morning Show’ (Video)
There has been a lot of talk lately about the word Nigga, Nigger, the N word whatever you want to call it. Â Discussions have been taken place on cable channels with whites and blacks discussing who can use the word what context it should be used in etc. Â Not to mention recent chants by college fraternity students at the University of Oklahoma where they made disgusting derogatory chants about hanging black people from trees. Â Well Zo Williams took the time on his Zo What show to tackle the word from the inside out. Â He went back to the true origin of the word and discussed ways that we have given it power and other ways where we might not know the power the word holds. Â Zo also had his co host Geoff Brown, along with guests Bobby Glanton, Corey Holcomb, and Freez Luv. Â I think you will be informed and surprised after watching this thought provoking episode.
Common ‘Keeps It 100’ on Black Women & Fatherhood on ‘The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore’ (Video)
Common recently appeared on the panel revolving around Black Fatherhood on ‘The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore’ that airs on Comedy Central. New York Times columnist Charles Blow, founder of the Center for URban Families Joe Jones and comedian Mike Yard also take part in this discussion that began with the simple statement that ’72 percent of black children are born to unwed mothers.’
Although they tackle serious issues in this discussion, things get hilariously uncomfortable fast as Larry poses questions about whether they’d play in the Super Bowl instead of witnessing the birth of their first child & their opinions on whether or not black women are too domineering in relationships. Check out more video from the discussion below……

Hahaaa! Their nicknames sound like video game fighters already. Click play and watch ’em play.
The Daily Show’s Senior International Correspondent ‘Trevor Noah’ Reports On Boko Haram…Because Somebody Should! (Video)
Watching our posts from The Daily Show, you are probably familiar with the way Jon Stewart and his people dance along the fine line political satire – the one that separates comedy and tragedy. Trevor Noah (repeat ‘contributing reporter’) files this report on happenings in Boko Haram – with an all but in-your-face jab at the West’s lack of media coverage of such.
“Africa Is The Vegas of Islamic Terror: What Happens In Africa Stays In Africaâ€
That’s the punchline of the night, but you can tell that the audience was struggling to find it’s funny bone. Is it that we are that under-informed… or insensitive… or desensitized… or suffering that much from an attention deficit disorder, being crippled by news media currently chasing down leads on ‘deflated balls’ in the NFL or…
Yes… yes… okay dammit… YES!
Watch this report. We have to get our political and current affairs news from somewhere… even if Comedy Central is in the lead reporting it… AGAIN!

The Great Marijuana Debate: Nancy Grace vs. 2 Chainz (Video)
Nancy Grace. Please. Use your inside voice. Want some smoke? A “big fat doobie” perhaps to calm down?
Rapper 2 Chainz made some very sensible points about legalizing marijuana. Don’t get frustrated when Nancy cuts him off (a lot) and yells (a bit). That’s just how she is on her show. Good commentary about individual responsibility, child rearing, economics, the criminal justice system and more. The full show segment featuring the debate above. Watch and discuss.
Missed Opportunity: How Tonight Show Host Jimmy Fallon Passed Up On Nicole Kidman Back In The Day (Video)
So, Nicole Kidman was over to Jimmy Fallon’s apartment back in the day. A friend brought her over. Okay. And she was feeling dude. Okaaayyy. And…
…and NOTHING! Jimmy messed it up. Made no moves. She thought he was brushing her off; did not think he was interested in her at all. True story. Watch in disbelief as Nicole tells the story.

ESPN 30-For-30: The U Part 2 (Video)
Produced in 2009 by ESPN for its “30 for 30” series, “The U” was a look at all that was good and bad about the rise of the University of Miami’s football program in the 1980s. But that wasn’t the end of the story. “The U Part 2” picks up where the original film left off, with the program trying to recover from the devastation left by NCAA sanctions and scandals that had some calling for the school to drop football. The Hurricanes rose from those ashes to win another national championship, only to face new controversies when a booster used a Ponzi scheme to win favor with the program.

Comedy: Kevin Hart Explains The Difference Between ‘White’ & ‘Black’ Strip Club Culture (Video)
I agree with Kevin Hart 100% on this & have even said the same thing on my Twitter page. All strip clubs are not created equal. I don’t discriminate when it comes to women, but I do tend to avoid the “white strip clubs.” Hahaaa
Chris Rock Talks About “Top Five” And More On ESPN’s ‘First Take’ (Video)
How about that. “Top Five” is in the top five highest grossing films at the box office. Talk of Tinsel Town to be certain. Here we have Chris Rock talking with the gang at ESPN’s First Take about the movie, some favorite athletes, use of the n-word and more. Made a quick pass at the lovely co-host, too. Ha! Chris ain’t slick…
Chris Rock Speaks On His Two Kids, ‘Top Five’ And More (Video)
For real for real, Chris Rock has been in this game strong for decades. Short and plain: He knows some sh!t. Take this opportunity to eavesdrop on The Tonight Show convo that he and host Jimmy Fallon have (on a variety of hilarious topics).
On parenthood. Have a ton of kids… or none at all. Having just one is too much work!
On “Top Five.” It’s hard to write a script…but it’s not when you have no job!
On his rap deal. I was nice… never came out though. I’m the ‘Lance Armstrong’ of smart!
On jinky promoters. Offer you everything… BUT what you need. One offered me his girl (‘You want Sheryl?’)!
Too short and plain? Okay, watch the first clip above… and keep on after the jump. You’ll get it (e.g. the chuckles)!
Really? The Closest Emoji Of A Black Person Is A ‘Smoked Moon’? Dear Apple, The Word Is ‘Diversity’ (Video)
Over 800 emojis on iPhone apps, and not a single one is of a Black person? Damn. Makes me think about trashing this iPhone. Not for long… but I’m saying. Kind of ridiculous, right? And ridiculously funny. Get ’em SNL!
Deal Or Unreal: House For Sale Has Roller Coaster Running Through It (Video)
Is this real or not? Watch as NBC Today Show co-host Tamron Hall tries to bust the myth, but Al Roker counters with what has to be the best line of reasoning that allows full enjoyment of the video embedded above:
“I don’t care…ROLLER COASTER…IN THE HOUSE!”
It’s in The Netherlands. Been on the market for over 6 months. And it’s pretty pricy, according to The Today Show. But looks kinda fun though, right?
Poised Under Pressure: How Michael K. Williams Finds Peace (Video)
I love what I do, but I LOVE when people love what I do.
– Michael K. Williams
That sentiment stokes the fire that builds pressure in the cooker. Making this episode or that film the best, making the most of this media appearance or that one. On top of that, Michael is his own ‘image consultant’ – choosing his own clothes and look for these events. Why does he add that pressure to the situation when, at his level, he could hire someone.
Because the time he spends dressing himself, getting a haircut… are like his Zen meditation. Peaceful silence and renewed focus. Watch.
Yasiin Bey Enjoys Hypnotic Melodies In Morocco (Video)
Yasiin Bey chills in a restaurant halfway ’round the world; bobbing heads with natives and appreciative travelers to Gnawa jams. Originally introduced to Morocco by Sub-Saharan slaves sounding off and singing their aches away, this is definitely a music form under-appreciated by Westerners. But if you are going to do music for the world, you gots to be all in it and around it. Respect to Yasiin. Best believe the brother is taking in the entertainment and the influences. It’s what artists do. Watch.
