Science: NASA’s Weather Machine (Video)

NASA’s playing God! It’s making its own weather!
Jeremy Clarkson

Wow. Sometimes (read: more often than you think) the byproducts of science and engineering as, or more, fascinating than the intended project. Case in point: NASA’s rocket booster testing in ‘nowhere, in the middle of nowhere’ Mississippi. The intent was to test some very expensive, very large, very VERY loud boosters. The byproducts – big billowing clouds RAIN clouds!

Seeding clouds for rain? Nah. That’s 20th Century maaaaan. NASA is making clouds… on the side… just because!

Neil deGrasse Tyson With Some “Astrophysics for People in a Hurry” And A Word For Climate Science Deniers (Video)

Great talk. Plus: Neil deGrasse Tyson with the booooom statement of, like, the decade or something! To all the climate change deniers: How was it that we made all kinds of plans, and reacted with all kinds and fervor and enthusiasm, to the Eclipse [Across America] – a phenomenon predicted by science – but NOT even flinch or flitter at the very real, very scientifically-founded warnings of pending planet-wide doom due to climate change (global warming, whatever you wanna call it)? Is it because beach chairs will become useless for the beachfront after the ocean level rises? Maybe because you’ll need good galoshes to go anywhere downtown in NYC? C’mon son!

Neil deGrasse Tyson weighs in on why climate change is subject to political debate and examines the privilege of wondering about space in “Astrophysics for People in a Hurry.”
– Comedy Central

Okay, they are probably not reading this post or watching The Daily Show on Comedy Central… So if you know a denier, please share this.

(Or share with the like-minded. I don’t mind having an ‘amen corner’ on this.)

Black Men Trace Their Roots… Of Their Native American Heritage (Video)

You could get in a lot of trouble if you were caught ‘out of place’ or ‘talking out of turn’… Sound familiar, like familia? It should, especially for these gentlemen who have proven that they have ‘Indian in their blood’ (as my elders used to say). But this video is more about similarities in Native American and African American heritages. This is about linkages, bonds, relationships between our peoples. Set aside about a half-hour and get this knowledge!

On the next Another View, a history lesson on the Cheroenhaka-Nottoway Indian Tribe of Southampton County, Virginia – and how a man named Walter Ashby Plecker forever changed the relationship between Native Americans and African Americans in this part of Virginia.

Black Love: Flex Alexander & Shanice (Video)

So adorable I can hardly stand it. Like right up there with Papoosa & Remy Ma’s tried and true lovey-dovey love. In theirs and in Flex Alexander & Shanice’s cases, I am drooling at how hot the ladies are but cannot hate on their dudes… and thus, I end up rooting for their relationships. There is hope and happiness; because there is Black Love. A couple like this proves it! Through thick and thin and thick again. Watch Flex’Nice talk about it.

David Alan Grier With ‘An Important Message About White People’ (Video)

Call WashingtonDenzel Washington. Let’s get this discrimination against White people stopped. Bwaaahaaa!

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is trying to get back on Trump’s good side by directing the Justice Department to focus on the important issue of discrimination against… White people. According to the New York Times, the civil rights division of the Justice Department is planning to investigate what they call “intentional race-based discrimination in college and university admissions.” So, Grammy and Tony nominee David Alan Grier stopped by with a very important message.

Activist/Reverend Jesse Jackson Says Former NFL QB Colin Kaepernick Should Have The Right To Play And Express Himself At The Same Time (Video)

Above: Bill Maher and Reverend Jackson have a real talk about what is at the essence of Kaep’s stand (or kneel) in PEACEFUL protest… not ‘standing’ for the way Black people are expected to honor the flag & anthem of a country that does not honor them as it should. Kaep can’t get a job in the league, and yet he broke no league or team rule that anyone can cite. Owners and major stakeholders, just in their feelings, are keeping him from his bag. Maybe they are ‘teaching him a lesson’ (maybe teaching US a lesson). Whatever they’re doing smells, and Maher and Jackson talk about what it smells like.

He should have the right to express himself. He’s not burning the flag, he’s not hustling drugs to teammates, he’s not shooting people with guns.
Rev. Jesse Jackson

Michael Moore Calls A Racist A Racist, All Of Them… And Those Who Will Not Denounce Them (Video)

Anybody who enables, anybody who votes for and supports a racist, is a racist.
Michael Moore

The controversial filmmaker Moore has never had a problem calling it how he sees it. And in keeping with the lifted quote above, Moore is holding those who support the racist ralliers and those of their ilk – whether gathered at the Take ‘Murica Back rally in Charlottesville or not – just as guilty. Because #BlackLivesMatter or #AllLivesMatter or whatever matters to you aside, the venomous speech, vitriolic tone and victimization of those hurt by Neo-Nazi words and a wildly driven car… well, that all happened. And if you are not denouncing that, you are tacitly supporting it.

Black Love: Remy Ma And Papoose (Video)

Hip-Hop’s most lovable lyricists tell us what’s real about their real love. Not surprising that this clip will make you go ‘awww.’ That’s what we are used to now. Not even surprised that they’ve lasted this long. After being loyal through Ma’s stretch in jail, why would Pap go anywhere? Devotion, his wifey being fire on the mic and fine everywhere else (rowrrr)… Sure, those things are part of the story… but watch and listen as the loving couple tell us more.

Respect for women; not just his woman. That got Ma, not the bars, huh? Interesting.

Donshea Hopkins Speaks On Life Before, During, And After ‘Power’ (Video)

Hope you’ve caught up on your Showtime viewing by now. In particular, I hope you already know what happened on this past Sunday’s episode of “Power.”

****SPOILER ALERT***

Well, the ‘Big Rich Town’ is a very sad place. The violent storm has finally taken someone that EVERYONE will miss: Ghost’s beautiful baby girl is gone. Reina (played by Donshea Hopkins) has fallen. And the “Power” watchers will tune in next week for two reasons… (1) to see what that damnable brother of hers, Tariq, is gonna do and (2) to see what Ghost & Tommy are gonna do (holyyyyy sh!t)!

But don’t cry too, too much for Reina… and you should only shed tears of joy for Donshea. She has been acting practically since right after she could walk. And she has a couple of roles she might revisit (like the series that put Netflix on the map, “Orange Is The New Black”). Click play and tune into Donshea’s radio interview embedded above for the skinny on all that and more!

Comic-Con 2017 Debuted An Extended Official Trailer For “The Gifted” (Video)

Ought to categorize this under MMM, Mutants Making Money! We know Logan and X-Men movies do well at box office cash registers, but will mutants help Fox TV sell cereal and soap? Oh, you can count on it.

As an (intended, or not) counterweight to its DC-based pre-Batman “Gotham” series, the network is now set to give us another hero genre series, but from the Marvel side this time, “The Gifted.” We posted a trailer on here earlier, but this was the one folks saw at this year’s San Diego Comic Con… where sci-fi and fantasy shows always go bigger and better with the teasers.

Watch The “Fear The Walking Dead” Season 3 Trailer Shown At SDCC 2017 (Trailer)

If you have not been keeping up with “Fear The Walking Dead” (or worse yet, have not gotten into the series)… It is okay. You have time to binge before it starts back up again. Get with your cable provider and get into the On Demand section. Watch some excellent zombie-genre television.

Now, that is my opinion and plea for you. But watch what the pros teased and lured San Diego Comic Con attendees with this year. Dope right?

History: Hear The Recorded Voices Of Former Slaves (Video)

My Grandma had a neighbor across the street who took these kinds of insights to the grave. When folks would ask what slavery was like or how she made it through, she would respond, “We don’t talk about those times.”

And that’s it. That’s all she’d say.

And now she’s gone. All that perspective lost to the ages. And since she never even talked to my Grandma (her dearest friend) about it, I never even had a second-hand account. Rest in peace, Grandma.

But now, we get to hear audio from actual former slaves – their words, their voices! And lean in around three minutes in… Former slave Fountain Hughes was born in Charlottesville, Virginia. Yeah, the place racists and counter-protesters just gathered.

WATCH. NOW!

Say No To The Dress, The Caterer, To The Whole Expensive Wedding… It’s All A Total Rip-Off (Video)

How could the College Humor crew dare to attack the sacred, traditional, necessary institution of marriage? Well, because it is really none of that. Just hella expensive for no damn reason (except, well, commerce)!

No hate, even though Adam does Ruin Everything… like the need for big weddings in this episode. Just like he did the ‘wedding ring’ racket (see here).

(Your fiancee might not need to see this though. Haaa!)
