The World’s First Food Delivery Robot Is Now Making Deliveries In Washington DC (Video)

Hey people. This is happening. They got ‘Wall E’ from the movies (well, it looks like it…anyway) delivering your food now. Get your hoagies & chips, you gyros or whatever brought to you by a robot. Convenience encapsulated in mobile tech form. Rolling your order right on over at a [relatively] speedy 4 miles per hour, programmed not to run into stuff and to arrive safe & secure (like “they’ll email you a code to unlock the delivery case when it arrives” secure) for you to enjoy.
Starship Technology (maker of the deilivery bot) has partnered with Postmates (online ordering company) to make this all happen. Starship says this whole thing is still in its infancy, but this baby is a live baby, baby.

The newest activity tracking device may not even be a device. Austin-based software design firm Chaotic Moon Studios has created a concept prototype for tech tattoos, a circuit that you can wear on the surface of your skin. The components are attached with conductive paint, and can monitor health and activity stats, authorize charges for purchases and many other potential applications.
Yeah, while I’m not a tat guy, some folks who are might get into this. And that Justice League thing… I might go with being a Six-Million Dollar Man or one of the Bionic Six (Google/YouTube it, old school rules).

Mr. Trash Wheel May Be Coming To Eat Your Garbage (Video)

We are actually more than a bit fascinated/entertained by watching work. Like all you city folk… Know how you take your lunch outside or by the big window and watch that new building construction across the street? Yep. Some folks even travel to gawk at a dam as part of a vacation trip. And while at college (The University Of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, ROLL TIDE), I would sometimes request window seating at a local by-the-river restaurant to have a view of the transport barges drifting by as I dined. Yep… even gazed at the garbage barges. Well, this is something like that. But the video on Mr. Trash Wheel above shows more than just an attractive contraption that draws a crowd as it works; it can do so sustainably, cleaning up the city while running on clean energy. Nice!
The adorable and insanely effective Mr. Trash Wheel may soon be eating your very own city’s trash.

Apis Cor Just 3D-Printed Its First Residential Home (Video)

Yep. Just some regular Russians’ comments on the modern construction miracle that Apis Cor has just pulled off. That company sought to partner with PIK Companies Group, Samsung Electronics, TechnoNICOL Corporation, Bitex Reibeputz Company and Fabrika Okon to make the tech and make the house happen. Once all was in place, in just a day’s time, with a huge on-site 3D printer, in Russia, a 400-square-foot home was built, at a cost of slightly over $10,000.

China’s ‘Making It Rain’ With $168 Million (Video)

If you live in the States you are probably used to hearing folks waah-waah-waah about droughts and forest fires. Too bad we can’t cry a river or have some West Coast baller make it rain… Oh, wait. China ain’t crying. They are actually setting up the tech to make it RAIN!
China is spending $168 million on a program that is aimed to alter weather and make it rain in certain regions. The process is called cloud seeding.

Oh… and you are not really ‘saving’ the Earth either way. Earth means ‘rocks and dirt.’ It will be here whether we try to save it or not. We are talking about our SURVIVAL as a species. No environment, no life on Earth.

Science: Harvard Researchers Have Turned Hydrogen Into Metal (Video)

So this BoneBreaker Jones (aka my brother, Karl)Â post showed up on my Facebook wall (because, you know, family) that proves that, without a doubt, he is a nerd.
Yep. He’s definitely a classic “Revenge Of The Nerds” pocket-protector-and-taped-eyeglasses-wearing NERRRD! Hahahaaaa!
But he is cool with that, and he is cool with me (and vice versa). That said, what he shared was so incredible I had to Google around for corroboration (’cause I’m #NerdyAndProud too). And the news is all over the interwebs. Researchers at Harvard University have created a metal that could lead to way cheaper and more efficient superconductor applications – quantum leaps in medical technology (like MRI machines) and in transportation tech (like high-speed super-trains). This metallic hydrogen could even be used to drastically improve our power grids and help power deep space exploration!
This is the holy grail of high-pressure physics. It’s the first-ever sample of metallic hydrogen on Earth, so when you’re looking at it, you’re looking at something that’s never existed before.

In a word…SCIENCE! But we still must remain calm. There is a LOT of testing and research yet to be done. It took 80 years of applied research effort to get this far. Like any journey, it takes time and drive to arrive at the destination. But this is a HUGE sign that we are on the right track.

Instagram Adds New Live Broadcast Video Feature (Video)

Look at IG stepping up to the plate! Instagram already had Twitter’s number. Think about the time/effort to snap a picture worth a thousand words vs. the time/effort it takes to cram your sentiments into 140 characters. Assuming both are attempted using the smartphone you got there, IG wins! Got wind of a bigger ‘win’ though: Periscope, Snapchat and even Facebook live have now comp… Instagram’s Live Video Broadcast feature! It works in concert with IG’s recently released Stories feature, and it has to be seen as just as good or better. Seeing as how nowadays, Facebook feeds and photo sections are filled with echoed pics and videos from IG, this move lets users skip the middle ‘tech.’
Suffice it to say that the @JayforceDotCom and @BeatzandlyricsShow Instagrams are about to go HAM! And you can still follow our Beatz & Lyrics and JayForceDotCom feeds on Twitter. All good!

Not only is Amazon coming out with a store that can track you, you likely desires, and product selection decision (indecision) choices… but you don’t even have to wait in line or do the computerized check-out. You ‘Just Walk Out’ maaaan. Amazon knows who you are, what you finally decide to buy; and charges you for the total when you walk out the store!
And this is not still ‘conceptual’ either. AmazonGo store #1 is coming to Seattle (Washington, USA) early 2017.
