The World’s First Food Delivery Robot Is Now Making Deliveries In Washington DC (Video)
Hey people. This is happening. They got ‘Wall E’ from the movies (well, it looks like it…anyway) delivering your food now. Get your hoagies & chips, you gyros or whatever brought to you by a robot. Convenience encapsulated in mobile tech form. Rolling your order right on over at a [relatively] speedy 4 miles per hour, programmed not to run into stuff and to arrive safe & secure (like “they’ll email you a code to unlock the delivery case when it arrives” secure) for you to enjoy.
Starship Technology (maker of the deilivery bot) has partnered with Postmates (online ordering company) to make this all happen. Starship says this whole thing is still in its infancy, but this baby is a live baby, baby.
The news story is embedded above. Footage of the robot at work appears after the jump.
These High Tech Tattoos Can Conduct Electricity (Video)
Yoooo! So now we can join the “Justice League” as a Cyborg without all the getting mangled in a near-life-ending accident and being put back together by a dad mad cyber-scientist? Could be cool…
The newest activity tracking device may not even be a device. Austin-based software design firm Chaotic Moon Studios has created a concept prototype for tech tattoos, a circuit that you can wear on the surface of your skin. The components are attached with conductive paint, and can monitor health and activity stats, authorize charges for purchases and many other potential applications.
Yeah, while I’m not a tat guy, some folks who are might get into this. And that Justice League thing… I might go with being a Six-Million Dollar Man or one of the Bionic Six (Google/YouTube it, old school rules).

GoPro Karma: Beach Day With The Walsh Family (Video)
Professional surfer Anthony Walsh takes his wife (Crystal) and their son (Damien) on a daycation; exploring their native Hawaii by air, by land and by water. And the GoPro HERO5® camera with the Karma stabilization system is there to “see” it all, so the Walsh family could view it later.
Oh… and so we can view it now!

Mr. Trash Wheel May Be Coming To Eat Your Garbage (Video)
We are actually more than a bit fascinated/entertained by watching work. Like all you city folk… Know how you take your lunch outside or by the big window and watch that new building construction across the street? Yep. Some folks even travel to gawk at a dam as part of a vacation trip. And while at college (The University Of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, ROLL TIDE), I would sometimes request window seating at a local by-the-river restaurant to have a view of the transport barges drifting by as I dined. Yep… even gazed at the garbage barges. Well, this is something like that. But the video on Mr. Trash Wheel above shows more than just an attractive contraption that draws a crowd as it works; it can do so sustainably, cleaning up the city while running on clean energy. Nice!
The adorable and insanely effective Mr. Trash Wheel may soon be eating your very own city’s trash.

Apis Cor Just 3D-Printed Its First Residential Home (Video)
“3D printer… I’ve heard of it… It can make some little stuff…”
“A house? In 24 hours? No way!”
Yep. Just some regular Russians’ comments on the modern construction miracle that Apis Cor has just pulled off. That company sought to partner with PIK Companies Group, Samsung Electronics, TechnoNICOL Corporation, Bitex Reibeputz Company and Fabrika Okon to make the tech and make the house happen. Once all was in place, in just a day’s time, with a huge on-site 3D printer, in Russia, a 400-square-foot home was built, at a cost of slightly over $10,000.
Watch, and be amazed. Crazy. Crazy COOL!
China’s ‘Making It Rain’ With $168 Million (Video)
If you live in the States you are probably used to hearing folks waah-waah-waah about droughts and forest fires. Too bad we can’t cry a river or have some West Coast baller make it rain… Oh, wait. China ain’t crying. They are actually setting up the tech to make it RAIN!
China is spending $168 million on a program that is aimed to alter weather and make it rain in certain regions. The process is called cloud seeding.

Scientists Can Now 3D Print Functional Organs (Video)
You read the headline just like we did on the Tube. You probably blurted out some combination of ‘bullsh!t’ and ‘wow’ as a knee jerk response… But then you pressed play. And you thought, “Oh. Like for practice,” maybe feeling a bit disappointed that we were not at the print-a-new-liver level yet.
We’ll get there. But for now, think: The doctors of tomorrow are going to get some REALISTIC practice BEFORE they ever touch a REAL human. There’s your pound of gold. Surgeons will not be ‘practicing’ medicine on our loved ones anymore.
Dope right?
Apple Campus 2: Looking Good, Even Under Construction (Video)
This is craaaaazy! Not like President Trump crazy… yeah, that is happening… but so is this. Major massive cool. Apple HQ ‘Campus 2’ is going up. Peep the aerial drone shoot for proof: Outdoor lighting (check), solar panels (check), fitness center (check), included greenspace (check), parking garages and all that (check check)!

Environmentally Conscious And Cost Effective: Solar Roof Tiles (Video)
Can we have nice things? Why do we always HAVE to be thinking about how to ‘save the planet’ man? Why does it always have to be about the environment? And you know going green costs hella money, right?
NO! It is costing less and less to go green, and we are not even talking about the cost SAVINGS you get from making the switch (e.g. lower utility bills). Case in point: Peep this vid about the possibilites for a roof of solar panels… cheaper AND nicer than what most folks live under now.
Oh… and you are not really ‘saving’ the Earth either way. Earth means ‘rocks and dirt.’ It will be here whether we try to save it or not. We are talking about our SURVIVAL as a species. No environment, no life on Earth.
(Life. It’s the nicest thing to have. Now, play the video.)

Movie-Like Robot Could Aid In Future Disaster-Relief Efforts (Video)
Art mirrors life. Sure. But art influences life. No doubt! You have seen me speak on here on how getting nerds excited about making sci-fi into scientific fact is a beautiful thing, right? Well, you’re about to read me do it again!
A robot likened to those in “Transformers” and “Alien” has been built in South Korea. Controlled by someone inside the head, It is meant to help in disaster areas.
You gad-dam rite I am gad-dam GEEKED about this!! The folks who worked on movie robots are making real-life heroic robotics a reality. C’mon! How are you NOT losing your sh!t over this??!
Watch the vid piece.

Nike’s new shoe magically adapts to your foot.
Posted by WIRED on Tuesday, 20 September 2016
Duuuude! I was on some Phresher (waitWAITwait a minute) when I watched this. So we did not get the “Back To The Future” hoverboard like we were supposed to by now, but aren’t these the shoes from the movies? Wow!

Facebook Isn’t “Free” (Video)
If you’re not paying, you’re not the customer–you’re the product.
You gotta know this. Whether you know already, or not, you GOTTA know this. So, since College Humor put together a palatable way to tell you so, I’m gonna share and let you know…
FACEBOOK ISN’T FREE!
Watch and see how you ‘pay’ for it, because you are not willing to pay for it otherwise. Hey, everything has it’s price. How do you think Zucks got so damned rich? And you could quit Facebook, but good luck escaping Google!

Science/Technology: Scientists Use Gold And Rat Parts To Make A Remote-Controlled Artificial Stingray (Video)
Yeeeeesh! That looks creepy as f-ck! But a team of scientists at Harvard creating this artificial stingray out of rat parts (again, yeesh) and a pinch of gold is actually part of the team’s ongoing research on how to make artificial organs. This admittedly weird biotech is remote-controlled; able to be moved about in a tank using light beams.

Business/Technology: Amazon ‘Just Walk Out’ Shopping (Video)
We stay on the trends that matter to us and, in so doing, we watch history being made. Case in point: Check out the in-store mapping (IndoorAtlas) article we posted on here a few years back. And wait for it…
Told you so! WHAT?!! Not only is Amazon coming out with a store that can track you, you likely desires, and product selection decision (indecision) choices… but you don’t even have to wait in line or do the computerized check-out. You ‘Just Walk Out’ maaaan. Amazon knows who you are, what you finally decide to buy; and charges you for the total when you walk out the store!
And this is not still ‘conceptual’ either. AmazonGo store #1 is coming to Seattle (Washington, USA) early 2017.
