“I feel ya” And Other Expressions Of Andre 3000 On Exhibit (Video)
When you describe Andre Benjamin as an artist it could mean multiple things. First he is a musician, also a visual artist, an actor and just a cool Southern gentleman. Not to mention Andre is known by many names – Dre, Andre 3000, 3 Stacks to name a few. So when you think about Art Basel it’s not surprising to see Andre getting involved with the yearly Exhibit/Event.
Andre Benjamin has teamed up with  filmmaker Greg Brunkalla (B.F.A., film and television, 2001) and painter Jimmy O’Neal (B.F.A., illustration, 1989) both graduates of SCAD (Savannah College Of Art & Design). The exhibit is called “I feel ya†where all 47 of 3 Stacks black jumpsuits that he wore during Outkast recent tour. His fashion statement became part of the live show where phrases like “Make Love Like War†and “Across Cultures Darker People Suffer Most Why?â€
The display is accompanied by a short film titled “Trumpets” by Brunkalla and large paintings by O’ Neal. If you are at Art Basel 2014 you can catch an early glimpse and it will continue to show at Savannah College of Arts & Design (SCAD) University summer 2015. Check out this video that features Paula Wallace president of SCAD talking with Andre 3000 regarding what inspired this fashion statement.
“I feel yaâ€Â provokes a socially dynamic conversation about language and context.

Sex & Broadcasting (Trailer)
We know the story of WFMU, 91.1 FM New York. Not specifically that station, but about hardworking folk who work at a radio show, doing shows and the work it takes to make them out of pure love (e.g. no money), devotion and a sense of duty to the community. We have been doing it for years, for our show – Beatz & Lyrics – every week, for listeners worldwide. So this trailer touched a special part of our collective soul.
Check out the trailer for the VICE documentary on the New Jersey station. Looks good!

Ferrari Races A Rocket Bike (Video)
So, yeah. CRAZY! A bike takes the starting line to race a Ferrari. Okay, a rocket bike… okay a record-breaking 400+ mile-per-hour running, track-slaying… awww f#ck it… let’s get to the… er… race (if we can even call it that).
On November 7th of 2014, on the famous Circuit Paul Ricard located at Le Castellet in South of France, François Gissy has reached an incredible speed of 333 km/h on the rocket-propelled bicycle designed by his friend Arnold Neracher. More than 300 km/h on a skinny and completely stripped bicycle, this is amazing, and crazy! Who thought that one day a daredevil on a bicycle, with a rocket under the saddle, could travel the quarter mile in less than 7 seconds?
Straight jetted and smoked dat azz. HA!
Ice Cube Speaks on the “Raiders” with Rich Eisen (Video)
A happier, rooting-for-the-Raiders, game geared up, dressed down, chilled out Ice Cube talking to Rich Eisen. A little about his movie “22 Jump Street” DVD release and a LOT about the Raiders. Raider Nation baby! Check out the cool convo.
(Oh, and he talked up the NWA movie and his son starring as a young Ice Cube.)
Marijuana Stories: Meet The Real Nancy Botwin From ‘Weeds’ (Video)
Well, well… Dr. Dina (former D.A.R.E. kid, ha!)… has been taking care of her patients with recommendations of medical marijuana – patients like Snoop Dogg – waaaaay before Showtime put out the show ‘Weeds.’
‘Weeds,’ Showtime’s highest-rated television show, is the story of a single mom who starts an illegal weed business to provide for her family. With marijuana now being largely legal in Oregon, Alaska, Colorado, and Washington, Showtime’s crime sitcom no longer seems like outlandish fiction. In this episode, VICE tracks down a real-life Nancy Botwin—Dr. Dina, medical weed consultant to stars like Snoop Dogg and 2 Chainz.
Talk about art imitating life! Click play and check out the incredible story of how medical ‘Mary J’ came to spread across the area in Cali. VICE’s Gianna Toboni reports.
Live From China: Dog Meat Festival (Documentary)
“It’s meaty… horribly, horribly meaty… mixed with that familiar doggy smell…”
Okay. Westerners may need to settle themselves and their stomachs. And open their minds. Yes. It’s just as you’d suspect: VICE is at a meat market (in the Chinese province of Yulin) where they butcher and sell dogs to lots and lots of people who eat them. You will hear shocking terms used… like tasty… and healthy…
No judgements. Okay, that’s bull… but watch the video expo though. It’s VICE, so you know the reporting will come at the story from a different perspective that might cause you to rethink. Compelling.
(Gotta say… the reporter, Izzy Yeung, is hella cute.)

Citizenfour (Trailer)
Ummm yeah, a movie about THAT Edward Snowden.
“Citizenfour” is the never before seen, utterly riveting first-person look at how director Laura Poitras and journalist Glenn Greenwald first met with whistleblower Edward Snowden in Hong Kong where he gave them documents showing widespread abuses of power by the National Security Administration. It is an unprecedented fly-on-the-wall account of one of the most groundbreaking moments in recent history.
Watch the trailer above and be afraid. Or not. Doesn’t matter because this happened. This is happening…
Director Jason Goldwatch Followed Jay Electronica To The Ends Of The Earth And ‘Into The Light’ (Extended Trailer)
An experimental, exploratory film based on Jay Electronica’s journey to the other side of the world; and the worlds therein. It’s called “Into the Light” (due out soon).
Best described as a meditation in un-learning. A movement in seeing without watching, hearing without listening, and the brave exploration of spirit.
Crazy impactful video in the clip above. Whatever it is going to be, it is going to be worth the watch.
Vinyl Destination | Ep. 20 “Food For Thought” On Season 2 With The Magnificent DJ Jazzy Jeff (Video)
I’mo eat me a scorpion… a fried scorpion… it’s gone be good…
– DJ Ferno
That’s how we’re starting? Okay, this is Vinyl Destination. This is the start of the Asian Tour. On the way to Seoul, Korea, to get it popping… like fried bugs… but nah, even though the fellas went hard with the travel (off to the Philippines in a flash), the grub, and the club work. It was a pretty chill episode overall. Enjoy it.
(Bet you want one of those doughnuts though. Bet that up!)
Politics/Activism: Comedian Lewis Black Says, ‘F#%! Voter Suppression!’ (Video)
No need for a political action committee (PAC) to raise a ruckus… just raise the ire of a politically informed sharp-tongued don’t give a WHAT comedian, like Lewis Black; and step back! By this video’s end, I hope you are laughing; because that’s what Mr. Black does for a living. BUT, I also hope you are thinking… no GOING to vote this November. Remember, this ain’t the sexy elect-the-first-whatever election. This is to elect Congresspeople, state and local officials – folks whose decisions (or indecision) DIRECTLY affect our lives. Folks who are only a short drive, and a kicked-in door frame, away. Vote for ’em and stay on ’em and you WILL get results. You want to get active about Trayvon and stand-your-ground? About Ferguson and Mike Brown? About your car’s license tag tax being so costly? About your f#cked up dimly lit roads full of potholes?
WELL GET MAD LIKE LEWIS AND GO VOTE! You don’t even have to fight cops, dogs and fire hoses. But you DO have to show up for the fight! Bring your ID (why wouldn’t you?), your voter registration card (order a copy if necessary), your decisions on the candidates and bills on the ballot (read a paper, Google, watch some local debates), and your not-gone-let-nobody-turn-me-around attitude to your polling place (call your City Hall and ask them, if you don’t know where that is) on November 4, 2014.
Otherwise, those who do show up (and yeah; it’ll probably be folks controlled/brainwashed by those WAY richer than you) WILL vote. And in that case the ‘privileged’ few, having spent gobs of dollars to keep you and your people away from the polls (again), will WIN. Again. And that’ll be on you. But not me… Not on my watch!

45 King & Kid Capri DJ’ing Out The Back Of A Car (Video)
Scored this 45 King ‘Making The Beat’ episode for you. DJ lifestyle to the extreme. Now… you know you can record that live DJ mix to CD (or MP3 or whatever you kids have nowadays) and boom out the back of the vehicle… BUT… What if you knew a DJ cool enough to have the live mix setup in the back of the vehicle? Well, DJ Mark The 45 King did that in the coolest way. And DJ Kid Capri was more than happy to jump on the new playset and take the thing for some spins!
Party, Party, Party. Let’s All Get WASTED! In Ibiza, It’s What You Do (Video)
Summers in Ibiza is a lifestyle, not a season.
Ibiza. Whether the name means sun-kissed days and party-filled nights, or paradise lost, to you, this Mediterranean Island is where hedonistic dreams can come true. But what is it about the tiny island? Clive Martin, reporting for VICE, takes us about to find out – studying the DJs, crazy club-dancers, puking kids on vacation, all manner of party carnage and more.
Damn look at the wild sexy honeyz though! No doubt. It’s good. But it can (and does) get bad and ugly. Watch.
The Moped Gangs of London (Video)
Internet superstardom. Merchandising. Respect among pros and serious enthusiasts. Respect the riders… of mopeds! Hold your chuckles, the UK Bikelife has ’nuff respect for this special breed of Biker Boyz.
Mopeds and teenage boys have gone hand-in-hand since the 1960s. But in the last year UK BikeLife culture – where young scooter riders upload videos of themselves wheelie-ing down motorways and through industrial estates – has exploded, with the scene’s leaders picking up thousands of YouTube and Instagram followers in the process.
These British riders are beginning to receive international attention, not least from Baltimore’s notorious dirt bike club, the 12 O’Clock Boys. Although they may lack the CCs of their American counterparts, they’ve done a good job of making up for it with charisma and a dedication to the underdog of the two-wheeled world: the humble moped.
This is the UK’s version of the States’ 12 O’Clock Boys (that’s hella hardcore, if you remember our earlier post here)? Check out the VICE report on this phenomenon.
Japan’s Ninja School Girls (Video)
Awww so cute. “Ninja Schoolgirl” viral videos of students in Japan running/racing about town doing parkour stunts off buildings, walls, and walkways… and some ring sparring (kicking serious butt)… basically training to be able to chase down suckaz and kick their azzes wearing cute smiles and bedazzled fingernails.
Try explaining the result of that fight with your homies if you ever tick them off. Or… OR… you could just click play above and watch them tell VICE all about it.
Moms: The New Target Market Segment For Marijuana (Video)
“The ‘Green Crack’… That’s a real branding problem. You wanna get rid of the stigma…for moms.”
– Jessica Roake
Go for the moms. U.S. industry has pursued that marketing strategy for over a century. Exhibit: ‘soap’ operas (e.g. the ‘stories’) being produced specifically to sell SOAP to housewives back in the day. The tobacco smoking industry’s advertising included moms in the targeting mix (hell, they even included ‘doctors’ in some ads). The green industry machine had to eventually get around to talking to moms in their promotions (got to calm down eff’n ’round with these damn kids haha).
[The legal cannabis industry is] searching for ways to get moms around the country to set down their wine and light up. We travel to Denver with Jessica Roake, a mother of two from the suburbs of Washington, DC, for a mom-friendly cannabis tour. She gets blazed beyond belief in the name of market research.
Ah, VICE. This is that good good… article. Watch above.
Exotic Car Lifestyle: Sir Mix-a-Lot Shows Us How He Rolls (Video)
Our life ain’t his life, but Mix-A-Lot is happy to let us get a peek. Check out his ‘report’ on his hot ride though. 19’s in the front, 20’s in the [Baby Got] back. SICK!
In the above clip, Sir Mix-a-Lot gives us an up-close-and-personal showcase of his McLaren MP4-12C that he is “completely in love with!” It’s not the newest McLaren; but Mix said he doesn’t step up a model just to get a few new features. His whip steps are major. So, y’all can have that new new. Just don’t let him catch you on the street in less than the latest Corvette models talking that noise. ‘Cause somebody could get drowned in their hard feelings and choked by tire smoke!
2 Chainz Chows Down On The World’s Most Expensive Burger (Video)
All I want for my birthdaayyyy… is one of those BURGERS! But gaaaadamnnn 2 Chainz. For almost 300 dollars? Is it that good? You will have to tell us about it; or buy us a few. Well, he’s getting his ‘expensive taste’ on for the GQ series – Most Expensivest Sh!t – with this Le Burger Extravagant from Serendipity in New York.
Interestingly enough, this burger actually helps fund a good cause. And actually, 2 Chainz said the burger tasted so good his ‘life was changed.’ But still… it holds a Guinness World Record for being the World’s Most Expensive Burger. All that is… wow.
