Coldplay “Music Of The Spheres” Tour Atlanta 2022 – JAYFORCE.COM
Coldplay is one of our favorite bands of this generation & this world-renown group haven’t been to Atlanta that often over the years so this show for attendees would be nothing less than special. The last time Coldplay performed live in Atlanta was back in 2012. Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay acknowledged the significance of their return to Atlanta this past June 11th on Saturday night. Chris Martin explained that prior to their first ever show in Atlanta more than a decade ago, they weren’t doing well or maybe things weren’t going as they expected as a band. Their first ever show in at Atlanta was at the popular concert venue “The Tabernacle” & the show turned out so well for them that he said it was a significant turning point in their careers afterward. Coming out of the pandemic amidst everything else going on in the world, Coldplay’s Atlanta’s return was nothing less than visibly electric & spectacular for the 70,000+ sold out show at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
This Coldplay “Music Of The Spheres” show has been one of the best concerts we’ve attended by any artist in years. The stadium roof was open, the fireworks, the lasers, the LED wristbands given to fans, & the four different stages strategically positioned at various points on the floor all worked out perfectly in unison for one of the best shows I’ve ever attended. The band brought out surprise guest & Atlanta native Kelly Rowland at one point in the show for an acoustic cover of “Independent Women” from her time with her group Destiny’s Child. Prior to introducing Kelly Rowland to the crowd Chris Martin spoke to the audience about how when Coldplay was a new band with little money, not very fashionable & some notoriety via their one hit song that was hovering around the mid 20s on the UK charts, they met Destiny’s Child at UK televison show “Top Of The Pops.” This was the initial meeting & beginning of their friendly relationship as artists in the music industry. It was fitting that the band started their show with their song “Higher Power” as its noted that most of the performance at Mercedes-Benz stadium was powered by green energy. Fans that danced & moved around on the floor of the stadium powered many of the lights & prior to the show beginning their were people riding stationary bikes which interestingly assisted in this green energy task. It’s just one of the many efforts that band has been supporting in making the planet better as well as continuing to making the world better through music. Check out some exclusive videos above & below from the JAYFORCE.COM crew covering the event…

Prince – “Why The Butterflies”
Wowww, this is like being in the room when Prince (RIP) laid this down. Sometimes you don’t need a “finished” track to appreciate the genius of an artist like The Purple Rocker. Previously unreleased; held by Prince’s estate until now.
DJ Fudge – “Freeplay Friday” (May Edition) [Mixtape]
So this runs like a Mother’s Day mix, but it’s a May mix. This extended holiday being the start of the ending for May… we ought to be able to rock out to this. Yeah, shout to DJ Fudge, One Captain Productions, and I Lex Project for this!
Queen’s New Biopic, “Bohemian Rhapsody” (Trailer)
Okay, so we can mark one dope film coming out in November. Looks like the film will be an epic retelling of the come-up story of Freddie Mercury and Queen.
“Bohemian Rhapsody” is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music, and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound, their near-implosion as Mercury’s lifestyle spirals out of control, and their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid, where Mercury, facing a life-threatening illness, leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. In the process, cementing the legacy of a band that was always more like a family, and who continue to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day.

Lenny Kravitz – “It’s Enough” (Video)
Wow. A LOT to unpack. Be ready to watch a couple of times to ingest all the themes covered in this visual. The song itself is dope on first listen, but hearing (really hearing) it again would be recommended, too.
Interesting, and expected, that this new Lenny Kravitz joint would garner reaction in general. It’s Kravitz, a true craftsman of music. But even more interesting is the breadth and depth of reactions to the Rolling Stone tweet (seen below) about it. Some like it, others LOVE it; and some of the rest came down with a hard case of HATE… even given the release caption that accompanies the video: “IT’S ENOUGH! Let Love Rule.” Too bad for the haters. This is good work. Compelling and heartfelt!

Rock/Funk: Prince – “Automatic” (Video)
Ah, old school Prince. Man.
Visuals for “Automatic” by Minnesota’s (and the world’s) own Prince. May the Purple Rocker reign forevermore #RIPPRINCE
U2 – “Get Out Of Your Own Way” feat. Kendrick Lamar
Interesting. U2 bringing on Kendrick Lamar for this “Get Out of Your Own Way” is good business; even a damn decent song. Listen to the stream and judge for self. Strange to not credit K. Dot on the Spot stream (to draw in his fanbase) though. Just saying.
Watch A PBS Documentary On The Late Rock & Roll Pioneer, Fats Domino (Video)
Man oh man. Rest in peace to the legendary Fats Domino!
Fats Domino was one of the most popular rockers of the 1950s and early 60s. His achievements and record sales during that time were rivaled only by Elvis Presley. With his boogie-woogie piano-playing rooted in blues, rhythm & blues, and jazz, he became one of the inventors, along with Presley, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard of a revolutionary genre of music, rock ‘n’ roll.
– PBS
We might argue about that list of rock ‘n’ roll architects, but PBS is on point with this documentary. Good fodder for discussion and/or a primer for those who need to backfill knowledge about who the world just lost.
Prophets of Rage – “Hail To The Chief” (Video)
Hells yeah! Throw some things and call him ’45’ in this bih (hahaaaaa)! If you saw the title and thought someone cleverly flipped the Presidential entrance theme… Naaaah son. This is NOT that.
Raw rip rock at its best!

Prophets Of Rage Speak On The New Album And On Trump Not Being The Sole Reason For The Group’s Being (Video)
Bahaaa! Timmy C. with the ex-girlfriend level of intensity in getting controversial documentarian (and fan of Rage Against The Machine, Cypress Hill, and Public Enemy) Michael Moore to do the Prophets Of Rage music video… pays off.
Prophets Of Rage (Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, Brad Wilk, Chuck D, B-Real and DJ Lord) came together during 2016’s tumultuous election to combat the coming storm. Fresh off the road and riled up following last summer’s highly successful “Make America Rage Again†tour, the group knew it could evolve from protest performance art with a tactical mission, to a stand-alone entity with creative ideas all its own. At its core, Prophets Of Rage functions not only on a love of music, but a deep belief in its power as a tool, and a weapon. The group stopped by the BUILD Studio to discuss their new self-titled album.
– BUILD Series
Egos put aside for the music and the mission and the creative process. Hear the supergroup talk about it all above. Shout out to ATL’s own DJ Lord in there, too.
DJ Rasta Root – “One Musicfest 2017 Official Mix” (Mixtape)
The homie Rasta Roooot! Dude went across the spectrum, up & down the music levels, and swept the corners out the club for this mix! J.I.D. to Jill Scott… with some Thundercat, Kaytranada, Syd, Tank And The Bangas, Too $hort, and even Migos in here. Definitely a trip. A hip trip cued up for you to enjoy.
DJ Yogi – “The Brunch Mix 04 08 2017” (Mixtape)
Time for some more dopeness from the homie DJ Yogi! Says it’s a “Brunch Mix,” but with AV8, KRS-ONE, Eric B. & Rakim, Xzibit, Peedi Crack, Freeway… must be planning an amped brunch. Click play. Start jamming. Protect that neck! Heavy nod factor.

DJ Yogi has cheffed y’all up a quality blend of TI… Scarface… Quad City DJs, 69 Boyz & K-Nock… Aretha Franklin… Tears For Fears… Sade… Big Sean… and… and… some more! Is it Hip-Hop, Soul, Christmas, Gospel, Twerk, Bass music or what?? Well… YES!
The Brunch Mix goes all over the place like runny eggs.

DJ Yogi – “The Brunch Mix 09252016” (Mixtape)
How can a DJ blend tracks from Billy Holiday, Foreigner, George Benson, OutKast and GZA… and still not be done? Easy. Be DJ Yogi! But see, that’s where they eff’d up. NOBODY can be DJ Yogi except DJ Yogi.
Now that that’s settled, “Brunch Mix” anyone?
Prophets Of Rage To The RNC: ‘Make America Great Again?’ Nah, Make America RAGE Again! (Video)
Combine Rock, Funk, Hip-Hop, Tom Morello (of Rage Against The Machine), B-Real (of Cypress Hill), Chuck D & DJ Lord (of Public Enemy); and you get Prophets Of Rage. Then discover that their first tour stop will be to crash the upcoming Republican National Convention (RNC), and you’ve got yourself a socio-political powder keg that could very well explode! And for many the sentiment is, “It’s about damned time!”
Tom Morello: I’m here to “make America rage again.”
