Potato Travel Guide: Miami (Video)
Great to see the success former Atlanta resident Walshy Fire has been having down in Miami especially as a member of Major Lazer with Philly DJ/producer Diplo. Seemed like yesterday when I’d always see him at many of the reggae events around the city of Atlanta. Fast forward several years & he continues to be active down there in Miami as well. As many people arrive in Miami this weekend primarily for the Winter Music Conference, Walshy hosts this special “Potato Travel Guide” to Miami for those who are in town now & those who plan to visit in the near future….

Ninja Man & Specialist – “Dweet” (Video)
Great intro to tease the true meaning of this video with the new kid Specialist and the veteran Ninja Man. Dweet has good lyrics that try to answer the question about bridging the foundation with new talent in Jamaica. Big Up DownSound Records for always pushing the bar with promotions and marketing in the Caribbean and the US market.

Chronixx – ‘Beat & A Mic’ (Video)
There is almost nothing more simplistic bout just shooting a video riding bikes through the streets of Jamaica. Well this is a high quality video from Chronixx and members of the Zinc Fence Records crew. Kinda reminds you of the Nas hit, “One Mic”; shot by our friends at All Eyes On It & produced by Special Delivery Music. #Salute Pierre, Daddi Barnz, Teflon and the crew… song spins often on Sunsplash Mix Show.

Miguel – “Do You” Reggae ReFix feat. Sammie (Prod. ReFix Kingz)
Like most people that enjoy quality music, Miguel’s stellar “Do You…” track is one of my favorites from his “Kaleidoscope Dream“ album out that’s out now & up for a Grammy award for Best Urban Contemporary album. The production duo “The ReFix Kingz” (Edley Shine & DJ JButtah) add a very excellent reggae flavored dynamic with their remix featuring Atlanta based R&B singer Sammie. This is hot. Definitely diggin’ the Island vibes on this one. In case you’ve never seen the video to the original version you can check it out HERE.

Reggae: KES The Band – Tuesday On The Rocks (Video)
This video really needs no explanation but it is DEFINITELY full of playful fun and females that compares to a commercial you might be watching on the Bravo channel or NBC. Always nice to hear the classic riddim revamped and well worth the wait. Kes the band is no stranger to international success and this will add to their universal collection of Carnival-ish hits. We salute Bambino Musik and Justin “Jus Bus” Nation on their “Gyal Season Riddim” Project. #COOLandRELAX

Snoop Lion – “Here Comes The King” feat. Angela Hunte
Out of all the Snoop Lion songs I’ve heard so far, this is probably the best that dropped. Still not used to ‘Snoop Lion’ as a handle though. Respect for this one though. Check out Snoop Lion with “Here Comes The King” (featuring Angela Hunte).

R&B/Reggae: Mya – “Take Him Out” feat. Spice (Video)
Damn. Mya’s HOT… still! In this banging video for “Take Him Out” (featuring Spice), Mya runs Reggae style on the track. The song – from her album “K.I.S.S (Keep It Sexy & Simple)” – is fi-yah. The dance sequence toward the end though… more fi-yah, more fi-yaaahhh! Enjoy… thoroughly. You can pick up her “K.I.S.S (Keep It Sexy & Simple)” album at iTunes via the link provided here.
