Something on a beat produced by Adrian Younge; featuring Big K.R.I.T. Now play with that “Pleasure Toy” while you’re thinking about stuffing. R&B: Jhené Aiko – “Maniac”
Damn. Jhené Aiko a freak like THAT?? By the time you finish listening to this “Maniac” you might second guess them sex fantasies you’ve been having about her. But yooooo, if you wanted to ‘die trying’ doing anything… Heh… Just enjoy the track.
R&B: Alicia Keys – “Blended Family” (What You Do For Love) feat. A$AP Rocky [Video]
Off the album “Here” by Alicia Keys (still makeup-less in this vid; still lovely as ever), this is “Blended Family” (featuring A$AP Rocky). An incredibly real feel of love-in-spite-of coming from Alicia who’s coming from a genuine place with it. You probably know the Swizz–Alicia–Mashonda situation…went from the worst mashed up situation to a more-than-cordial one. The vid is well worth the watch. And the album, likely worth the cop.
Jhenè Aiko Speaks On Love, Loss, Diversity And Family (Video)
Artists should be open in some way that gets fans open about them; but some don’t open up a lot. Others go full Yeezy with the openness. Ha!
But Jhenè Aiko is sharing in this documentary at a level that falls comfortably within that range; even when talking about the ‘uncomfortable’ aspects of her life and career. Watch this engaging, albeit short, documentary feature on Jhenè.

Chris Brown – “Grass Ain’t Greener” (Video)
C. Breezy delivered the nice visuals to what was nothing short of an instant summer hit. Posted the embed stream for this “Grass Ain’t Greener” earlier, but now the iTunes link is below to go with the video above.
The Birth of A Nation: The Inspired by Album (LP)
Right here, right now, you can stream “The Birth of A Nation: The Inspired by Album” LP. Its purpose is more than implied by its title… a companion piece to the movie. Heard it was incredible, the movie. Whether goers will go and view “The Birth Of A Nation” on the silver screen is a matter for each and every one of them to figure out. This music though, no need to debate or deliberate. These shiz iz the biznezz! Bangers by Nas, Pusha T, Meek Mill, 2 Chainz, and more.

DJ Fourd Nkay – “Straight Heat Radio” (September 2016) [Mixtape]
Global grinding! Straight outta Japan, DJ Fourd Nkay uploaded a new “Straight Heat Radio” mix – including brand new Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae – and hit the hip. Literally! Texted like “Check this out!” Usually has Westside Flip doing the talking, but pulling double duty on this September 2016 edition. Hood hard trapping out the gate, so prepare yourself. Got just past the 11-minute and heard
“You know what… I f#ck with people from ATL, people from NY, people JAPAN at the same damn time!”
Priceless!! Never doubt the WORLDWIDE appeal of Hip-Hop! And DJ Fourd Nkay put it out there: coming back to Atlanta SOON (in town for A3C, first week of October 2016)!
(A listen will get you crunk guaranteed. Interesting to note that around the 29-minute mark comes the declaration that Young M.A is the hottest act coming out of New York. Just posted on her on here. Dope!)

Unity Sound – “Dancehall Mood 11” (Mixtape)
Unity Sound with the wind up & down for the long weekend set. It’s the “Dance Mood 11” mix. Described as Dancehall with a twist of Pop, it’s euphoric listening if you catch a vibe from this genre of music. At the least, it is great background music (with touches of Hip-Hop and R&B in there, too) for whatever shindig go to or throw for two… or more. Enjoy!
DJ Rasta Root – “SeratoCast Mix 58” (2016 Official One Musicfest Mixtape)
Point blank: To start, you NEED to catch the homie DJ Rasta Root on deck at the Smokin Shells DJ Stage for this year’s One Musicfest in Atlanta (Georgia, USA), Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Lakewood Amphitheatre.
As an enticement for those who have yet to make that go-no go decision, as well as to serve as a consolation for those who cannot make it to The ATL, here is DJ Rasta Root’s 2016 Official One Musicfest Mixtape … “SeratoCast Mix 58”

“Tiny Desk Concert” Series Welcomes Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals (Video)
Anderson .Paak and his band The Free Nationals… Much of their sound is layered atop a soulful Hip-Hop foundation; from there, your safest bet is to call it a hodgepodge of genres in the best way possible. Guitarist Jose Rios and bassist Kelsey Gonzalez inject a hard-rock edge into the Hi-Tek-produced “Come Down,” this set’s opening number. When you hear them play the first few jazz chords of “Heart Don’t Stand A Chance,” it’s hard to simply call this R&B…
But what you can call this is a dope set, a mini-concert, a NPR Tiny Desk Concert. Yeah, call it that. Now listen to the band and .Paak.
R&B: Lloyd – “TRU” (Video)
Hands up if you forgot about Lloyd. It’s okay we cannot see you. And you did not see Son for a while, because he was handling higher-order business: school, family, life! But dude is back…strong! Check out this “TRU” video and these tru’ words from Lloyd himself:
“TRU” is about being a fighter. It’s about speaking truthfully and honestly on your life and not shying away from your imperfections. It’s really about embracing the idea that there’s never failure. There is only lessons to be learned and character to be built. I wanted to shed light on that and I wanted to go towards that light and not run away from it. I got with J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, who produced the track and I wrote it with my good friend Shakespeare. It’s basically me bleeding my heart out to the music.

Alternative/R&B: midnight – “Descent” (Prod. By ylxr)
“…with melting wax and loosened strings
Sunk hapless Icarus on unfaithful wings”
– midnight
Alt-R&B with all the reverb you need. Gave me shivers and twitches, and I’m not really an R&B dude like that. Hypnotic vibe to this “Descent” jam. Decent effort, midnight. Kudos to you! More on the artist after the jump. After the FREE download link.

Marvin Gaye – “Sexual Healing” (Remix) [Prod. By Beatnick x K-Salaam]
Stupid dope dance refix of the Marvin Gaye “Sexual Healing!” Beatnick & K-Salaam get extra kudos for this. And playing it might get you up and into your go to two-step wherever you are, so listen with caution. Good times ahead.
(And that artwork… gotta love it!)

NPR’s “Noteworthy” Documentary Of Singer ‘Miguel’ (Documentary)
NPR’s music documentary series, “Noteworthy,” is up & running. Great treatment of its subjects. Kind of short, but you get good content on modern R&B-ster Miguel, the first subject.
Watch as host Jason King interviews Miguel at home. Discussion goes from the choice of wallpaper to working with Salaam Remi, to times and modes of inspiration to… Well, watch. It’s less than 15 minutes.
Ta-ku x Wafia – “Love Somebody”
Oh yeah. We effs with Ta-ku something heavy already over here. But this “Love Somebody” is doing nothing but locking us into long-term fandom. Dope music and vocalization. Great choice to lure the world over to copping the EP “(m)edian” out now.
Phonte x Eric Roberson – “Tigallerro” (Album Stream)
By now, it’s official! The collabo “Tigallerro” LP is out. We got the full stream and the link to cop if you like (via earlier post) for you below. You may proceed to rejoice and groove.
