Where To Invade Next (Trailer)
Above: The first trailer for Michael Moore’s forthcoming documentary – “Where to Invade Next.” Moore is that special kind of crazy that scares the right people (usually on the far right) in the right ways. But this time… no wait, hear him out… this time, he really wants to help. Yeah. Instead of us (you know, U.S. taxpayers) funding the military industrial complex to [defend ‘Murica or expand the ’empire’ – you pick], Moore has volunteered to be the one-man army that does ALL of America’s invading going forward. What do you say, politicians…good idea? Could save billions in defense spending. Just think about it…
TIMES UP! TOO LATE!!
Moore already shot the film – featuring him planting the American flag in unexpected places all over the world. U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!
Talib Kweli And Bill Maher Discuss #BlackLivesMatter Protesters Interrupting Bernie Sanders’ Presidential Campaign Speech (Video)
Bill Maher: Why Bernie Sanders? …If you’re gonna interrupt somebody… This guy had a hundred percent approval rating from the NAACP.
Talib Kweli: NAACP liked Donald Sterling, too.
And folks, that’s how we dig into a real conversation! Watch the video clip above and gain some perspective.
A while back, #BlackLivesMatter shut down a speech appearance by 2016 Presidential hopeful and leading American Progressive Bernie Sanders. Many disagreed with the women who took the mic. But EVERYONE paid attention, talked about it, talked about #BlackLivesMatter from many angles. Whether you ultimately agree or disagree with the tactic, Kweli does make a couple of solid points. The first, the duty of activist-protesters is to disrupt and gain the platform (which #BlackLivesMatter did LITERALLY). The second, NO candidate should take the Black vote for granted in 2016.
Very interesting. Do you agree with Kweli? Discuss…

Prince – “Baltimore†feat. Eryn Allen Kane (Video)
Respect to Eryn Allen Kane for the gumption. Doing the work featuring on the ‘wake up people!’ jawn by Prince entitled “Baltimore” (we posted earlier on here) AND uploading the visuals for it to the Tube to spread the music and message. Check it out above. All about the people and the problem; it’s a tribute video. So, we don’t get the artists in here as much as a presentation of scenes and facts. But that is more than okay. Feels right.

Prince – “Baltimore” feat. Eryn Allen Kane
“Peace is more than the absence of war.”
– Prince
Let’s see what the Purple Rocker is dropping. This “Baltimore” (featuring Eryn Allen Kane)… pretty dope and timely. The song cries and cries out for those suffering brutality and injustice in the USA – Baltimore and beyond. Shared in the liner notes for this SoundCloud share:
Please know that all involved in this project never take for granted the privileges we have in this country. Let’s all continue to fight the good fight and confront inhumanity on every level until the day it is no longer.
Europe Or Die: Documentary (Video)
Wowwww… and we’re thinking we have immigration issues in the U.S.? Check out this “Europe Or Die” docu-series VICE put together.
Since 2000, more than 27,000 migrants and refugees have died attempting the perilous journey to Europe. With an unprecedented number of people breaking through its heavily barricaded borders in 2014, the EU continues to fortify its frontiers.
VICE News presents Europe or Die, a new four-part series that documents the efforts of those risking their lives to reach Europe, and the forces tasked to keep them out.
In episode one of our series [above], VICE News correspondent Milène Larsson travels to the border between Morocco and Spain, where West Africans in their thousands storm the razor-wire-clad fences. Many are beaten back by border police or illegally returned.
Episodes 2, 3, and 4 follow; after the jump.

Swedish Cops Actions Reflect A Model For Professional Restraint (Video)
Proud American. Proud Alabamian. Native of Tuskegee. If you got jokes, go on and let them fly. Okay, while they’re yammering, please watch the above video and let me speak on this.
This clip exemplifies what it means to be a PEACE officer; not an officer with a piece. Like everyone else contributing to this visual going viral, what I applaud is the COURAGE these PROFESSIONALS exhibited; putting themselves IN DANGER when (as visitors) they could have remained bystanders… AND how they CHOSE to employ TRAINING, JUDGEMENT, and CARE… to PROTECT and SERVE everyone on the train (including the two fighting).
Now, I have not mentioned nationality yet. The above emphasized traits are those we hope peace officers worldwide would universally apply. Hopefully, police exhibit such traits regularly in Sweden. I don’t know. Hopefully, their citizenry appreciates law enforcement behavior norms like those in the clip as we would. That said, I have no beef with police; yet I still find myself scared at times that they may ‘find’ beef with me or my folks. Hopefully, the model behavior shown above fuels our desire to find, and make viral, images of our TRAINED PROFESSIONALS using JUDGEMENT and CARE as they PROTECT and SERVE us. And if those clips are too rare to be found and made to go viral… Hopefully, we will DISCOVER what it will take to make it so us witnessing good cop behavior is not so rare.
Look. I want responsible caring police professionals ready to serve in my community. Yes, I do. Admittedly, I am not sure that is the case in a lot of cases right now; but I really want it to be. Yes, I do. I believe this is possible. Do you?
Let’s discuss. Tweet me or leave a comment.

Comedy Central’s Larry Wilmore On The Shooting Of Walter Scott ‘For The Record’ (Video)
The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore slid right into The Colbert Report’s 11:30 PM Comedy Central slot. And doing so like a boss! Great tongue-in-cheek political satire. Gotta say though, Larry is starting with a lot more bite. Watch his do-you-see-this-sh!t commentary on cellphone video showing a South Carolina police officer (Michael Slager) fatally shooting an unarmed black man (Walter Scott) in the back.
“I’ll stop talking about this sh!t when it stops happening.”

Damn right. Damn shame. Damn.

Kanye West feat. Paul McCartney – “Only One” (Video)
Kanye West is the greatest hip hop artist of this generation & he consistently proves it. A keen attention to detail, socially relevant commentary within his music, an a willingness to take risks. Check out this latest video called ‘Only One’ featuring Sir Paul McCartney which is dedicated to Kanye’s beautiful daughter ‘Nori’. I don’t usually get caught up into celebrity babies & crap like that, but Kanye & Kim Kardashian most definitely have the cutest kid amongst new celebrity parents. As a fan of Kanye West the artist, I’m definitely looking forward to what he hits us with next.

Baked Alaska (Documentary)
It all started with “…f#ck it I quit.”
Never thought a weed head would say that, did ya? Hahaaa! True, Charlo Greene did not quit her relationship with Mary Jane. In fact, she started (actually, kicked into overdrive) a public debate/campaign for Alaska’s legalization of marijuana. She had to quit her job as a television reporter to do it…
…or did she? Her quitting was a media and viral video score for her cause (good PR strategy).
On November 4, 2014, the state of Alaska was faced with a ballot measure to potentially make recreational marijuana legal. In this episode of Weediquette, we follow democracy in action through the eyes of Charlo Greene.
Greene became the firebrand folk hero of the “Yes on 2” movement after she famously quit her job as a news reporter on the air to run a cannabis club. VICE travels to Alaska to follow Charlo, and along the way we meet a cast of Alaskan natives who all have something at stake in this election.

Dead Wrong: Fox News Pundits’ Slanted Coverage Of Ferguson Stirs Up Sh!t…And Jon Stewart Rubs Their Faces In It (Video)
BOOM! Jon Stewart cracks Fox News upside the dome again! Hypocrisy, calling Michael Brown the bad buy, poor framing of the true “systemic injustice†that went down in Ferguson and Fox News’ super-slanted reporting on events… as usual.
You know… you’d think they be tired of being on the wrong side (being a right-wing network)… or at least be tired of being beat down by clever comedic comic attacks from The Daily Show With Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report.
You’d think.
Jay Smooth Breaks Down Ferguson, The Riots, & People Being Pushed To Their Absolute Boiling Point (Video)
Jay Smooth always comes correct with the insightful social commentary on a variety of topics & events. The recent riots & protests taking place around the country in relation to what’s happening in Ferguson, Missouri is no different. I couldn’t relay my thoughts as perfectly as Jay Smooth did here in his latest opinion piece. I agree with him 100%
A Song For Net Neutrality: Don’t Flush Our Rights Down the Toilet (Video)
How can you not stop by the Net Neutrality website (linked here) for more info after watching this video. The song is performed by Bobby Jo Valentine. The message to the FCC (and corporate interests): Don’t flush our rights down the toilet! The Internet was meant to be FREE.
So…is anybody gonna comment on the fully clothed corporate cronies stripping the people butt booty naked… catching us all with our pants down? Anyone? So much good fodder for discussion.
Talib Kweli x Rosa Clemente Talk About The Michael Brown Shooting And More In Ferguson, Missouri (Interview)
Democracy Now is on the job and on the ground at Ferguson, with coverage and perspectives that probably won’t be seen/heard in even left-leaning mainstream media. You’ve probably seen the brief heated encounter between CNN’s Don Lemon and emcee/activist Talib Kweli. Pushed out online (a lot) because of the shock value of the argument. No ground gained, no growth in understanding; and folks didn’t really communicate that even that argument ended respectfully for the most part. However, this in depth talk with Kweli and Rosa Clemente (a longtime activist, journalist, scholar, and former director of the Hip-Hop Caucus) gives us the food for thought we need. Calm, thoughtful, progressive talk about matters of substance. With a keen interest in maintaining focus on the protest movement, Kweli and Clemente joined other grassroots activists in Ferguson just before a massive march planned for Saturday in their hometown of New York City. The NYC march will be on Staten Island, seeking justice for Eric Garner, the brother who was choked to death by police last month.
Listen (and download for FREE) below as Democracy Now! producer Aaron Maté facilitates a chat with Kweli and Clemente at Ferguson’s Greater St. Mark Family Church.
