No fear! NOTHING scares me, man.

Jermaine Dupri Speaks On Outkast & Janet Jackson (Video)

Start with the clip above. Hit the jump for more (another dope sit-down).
(Keep forgetting about him linked with Miss Jackson for the score. Salute to JD!)

Kaytranada Speaks On His Coming Up As A Music Maker (Video)
We post stuff from and on super-producer Kaytranada whenever we can. So you know he’s dope. But the how’s and why’s behind that: that you might not know… until now. Y’all gone learn today! Hahaaa!
Kaytranada — the Haitian-born, Quebec-raised DJ and producer — started out messing with music on the family computer in his basement. Using production software, and posting his music online, Kaytra’s use of technology helped him bring his unique sound into the real world. Years later the high school dropout’s music can be heard on dance floors around the globe.

DJ Premier Speaks On His And Jay-Z’s Musical Partnership (Video)
Jigga knows what he wants in a beat, and Preemo always knew how to deliver it. That’s what’s up. And that’s why the two always made beautiful music together!
There have been a million and one producer and MC combinations over the years, but none are quite like JAY-Z and DJ Premier. The Marcy legend and Gang Starr icon have produced nothing but fire over their brief stint of collaboration, first exploring their chemistry in 1996 for ‘Reasonable Doubt’ (“D’Evils,” “Friend or Foe,” “Bring it On”) and again for Hov’s sophomore LP, ‘In My Lifetime,’ Vol. 1. That album’s multi-part opening, “Intro/A Million and One Questions/Rhyme No More,” is a favorite—a song that Premier broke down in the latest installment of MASS APPEAL’s new series, “Off The Record.”

Shannon Sharpe Says, “Let Me Celebrate!” So Remix God Suede Dropped This Beat And It Was On (Video)
For some reason, this does not seem to have gone as viral as the “Evaculation” mash. But please believe that this “Milds & That Yak” clip flip is just as much a trip.
Remix God Suede went HARD and brought out them Sharpe BARZ for Shannon! Hahaaaaa!

Watch The Hatchfund Campaign Video For “Yasuke: Birth Of A Samurai” (Trailer)
Dude. DUDE! It’s legend meets line-and-ink in this animated Black Samurai joint in development. Gotta make this happen! If Tom Cruise can be “The Last Samurai,” can we please get the first Black Samurai project greenlit & funded… please?
(Watch above and see how YOU can help, too.)
Good feeling about this. Lionsgate Films AND the dude that brought the Kitana blade-swinging, head-decapitating ‘Duncan MacLeod Of The Clan MacLeod’ to life (Gregory Widen) are already attached. Dope!
Rhythm Roulette With DJ Dahi (Video)
You know DJ Dahi (if not, study up via this link to all our posts on him here). Whether you did before now or not, prepare to be impressed (again) with his beatwork; specifically, the work he put in using his blind 3 picks on this episdoe of Rhythm Roulette.
Wait. He’s is picking from a curated stack for this Serato Edition, just like DJ Jazzy Jeff did. Is this the thing now? Oh wait, there’s another episode he did before this, where Dahi blind-picked, sampled, clipped and mixed per the established rules? Came up with THREE beats??? Nice!
(See that after the jump.)
Rhythm Roulette With DJ Jazzy Jeff (Video)
Okay. Up front, I gotta admit that I yelled and pointed at the screen, “CHEATER!” While DJ Jazzy Jeff did pick his three plates blindfolded, his selection was curated. The picks were from a COLLECTION (e.g. no chance of pulling any wack or even wacky records). Booooo!
Then I fell back. Rhythm Roulette is not so much a ‘competition’ that someone can cheat and win. When someone like The Magnificient DJ Jazzy Jeff blesses with records like this… Truth is, we ALL win!

DJ Nu-Mark – “Leo Mix” (Video)
Crazy dope thing is… I always envision/mimic deejays when I am really into the mixes they are doing. And seeing them in action only enhances the enjoyment. Of course, live is best. But video of a deejay going in… SO DOPE! Check out DJ Nu-Mark and see if you agree.

Havoc Speaks On Coming Up In Queensbridge, Mobb Deep, And Losing Prodigy (Video)
RIP Prodigy for real. And if anyone, ANYONE, should be heard on that, it’s Havoc. They have been through it in all ways – on the come up, after the Mobb fame wave ebbed, falling out with each other, squashing the beef finally, and then… damn.
After the untimely death of Prodigy, DJ Vlad sits down with his longtime friend and the other half of Mobb Deep, Havoc. Havoc details what it was like growing up in Queensbridge, their first rap names, and reveals Prodigy turned down a deal to work with him at first. The producer then goes on to talk about making their first album, Prodigy teaching him how to sample and them getting a deal at LOUD records.
Throughout the conversation Havoc discusses some of the milestones in their career from the ‘Hennesy’ shirts, creating “Shook Ones,” dissing 2Pac before his death, their beef with Jay-Z, and what it was like seeing Lil Kim write her “Quiet Storm” verse. Hav also speaks on the rumor of P choking on an egg and the cause of his death before looking back on the legacy that they left in Hip-Hop.
Listen to Havoc pay respect to his brother above.

Eminem Speaks On Dr. Dre x Jimmy Iovine As ‘The Defiant Ones’ (Trailer)
Getting closer to the July 9th release of this one on HBO. You saw Em on “The Defiant Ones” trailer, so you’d expect him to figure prominently in the film; but what he has to say (here) might surprise you (dope line about the ‘levitator’ and the ‘innovator’). Watch him and others weigh in in poignant, as well as playful snips in the above teaser trailer.
And hey look… some cool content on the project’s Instagram (here).

Dr. Dre + Jimmy Iovine Are ‘The Defiant Ones’ (HBO Trailer)
That music. Isn’t that on the movie soundtrack for “The Untouchables?” Because that’d be kind of dope.
The Defiant Ones is a four-part documentary series that tells the stories of Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre.
– HBO
Debuting July 9th. Another related film coming to the small screen in the ‘Aftermath’ (get it?) of the “Straight Outta Compton” movie.
‘5 Minutes Of Funk’ With DJ Diamond (Video)
DJ Diamond did the damn thang on this ep. of #5MinutesOfFunk though yo. Nothing not to love about it when Funkmaster Flex goes back to the elements. The emcees doing the Freestyles… and now, Turntable Tuesday.
Know that saying, “Time flies” right? Well, it is especially true when a DJ is having fun blacking out on the wheels… like how 5 Minutes becomes 12 Minutes Of Funk. Haaaa! Good stuff!
