Check out this video spotted at HHNM of Cardiak’s creative process in crafting these joints from scratch. 14KT – “Width” feat. Tony Ozier (Video)

“2011. This is a personal piece I wanted to share with you all. I made it from compiled videos I recorded on my phone. I made the song dedicated to God, but it’s also a dedication to my family and some of the friends He’s blessed me with. As an artist, you can easily get caught up in an endless menu of distractions in life. Having to please people, facing criticism on your creativity, pressures of living up to your potential, pleasing others, image, all the things that can create fear in our lives. However, when you put your thoughts on the things/people you truly love, LOVE will conquer fear. R.I.P. My father, Paul Tucker Jr.” – 14KT

Vintage Tux – “Piece of Mind” (Video)

Peep the new jam “Piece of Mind” from my brethren from Tallahassee, FL featuring local songstress Socorro. The group Vintage Tux consists of emcee/producer M.E.R.C, dj/producer Seven Cypher,dj/producer Ish, deejay AtotheL, and distant relative deejay Maniac Magee. The concept behind the group is to bring a new refreshing sound to hip hop but with a vintage feel to it. This video, also directed by Vintage Tux, addresses what many of us face in this country when money is low, work is scarce, bills got to get paid, and thoughts of getting on your grizzly comes to mind. Be on the look for more dopeness from this sunshine state group.Enjoy

Tabernacle Mcz – “Silly” (Produced by Shafiq Husayn of Sa-Ra CreativePartners) [Video]

Now this jam “Silly” from midwest duo Tabernacle MCz is a hilarious joint that I know most of us can definitely relate to when “chasing the cat”. In the spirit of Slick Rick the duo trade tales of trying win the affection and hearts of different harlots from their past over this banger produced by Shafiq Husayn of Sa-Ra Creative Partners. I always love when artists take a break from being super hard, super thugs (word to Noreaga), and take a more lighthearted approach to making music, especially when it comes to the opposite sex. Enjoy

Georgia Anne Muldrow – “Seeds” (Video)

Here are thee first visuals from Georgia Anne Muldrow’s upcoming album Seeds that is entirely produced by Madlib. The part time emcee/producer/soul singer has always been pretty abstract when it came to her visual representations & this latest one manifests a 70’s Grace Jones type of feel to it.Georgia Anne and Madlib happen to be 2 of my favorite artists, so I am looking forward to what they chef’d up in the lab for this project. The album drops for your audio pleasure March 27th.

Rashad – “The Return” (Video)

If you follow me on the radio pretty closely you may have remembered me playing this song from Rashad called “The Return”. My homie Supa Mariooo who represents Rashad gave me an advance copy of the very dope “Museum” album from the singer, writer, & producer & “The Return” was one of the standout tracks I told them they should make a single. I ran several dope tracks on the radio with their permission & I’m glad to see they appreciated my input. The video was shot in one take, in Columbus Ohio & represents a return to real music & a golden age that has been long forgotten. Can’t wait for y’all to hear the rest of this very dope album….

Jneiro Jarel x MF Doom are: JJ Doom – “Banished”

The Metal Face Villain and Philly producer Jneiro Jarel are teaming up as JJ DOOM (probaly could have come up with a better name but hey) for a project to be called “Keys to the Kuffs”.As to how Jnerio also known as Dr.WhoDat? got Doom to complete a project is a mystery, becuase we have still been watiting on rumored MF Doom collab projects for YEARS like Doom and Ghostface Killah, Madvillainy 2, Doom and Masta Ace, Doom and insert name here.It will be interesting to see what this project is going to sound like sonically with the pair being on the oppiste side of the spectrum musicailly. Doom is abstract with a very gritty sound and the eclectic Jarel is very polished. The common denominator is both are dope, which should make for a quality project. No release date is known as of yet but hopefully we hear something official soon.Enjoy

Killer Mike – “Big Beast ” Produced by El-P

BANGER ALERT, BANGER ALERT!!! For a while it had been rumors of ATL mic wrecker Killer Mike and Philly producer of Def Jux/Company Flow fame El-P coming together and doing a project but it sounded like all hype. Well what would initially seems more like the Odd Couple than the perfect match, as the pair have completely different backgrounds musically, yet may turn out to be a possible contender for album of the year. More hip hop artists need to collaborate to keep pushing the boundaries musically, keeping the art fresh and innovative while at the same times cross mixing fan bases.

The first single from the all El-P produced album R.A.P Music ( Rebellious African People’s Music), “Big Beast” is a heater featuring an energized T.I, a always consistent Bun B, and newcomer Trouble taking turns with Killer Mike ripping this Public Enemy sampled track to shreds.Who would have ever imagined the trappers and backpackers on joints together?? Indeed 2012 is going to be crazy year. Bang this in your jeep until the speakers blow. CRUMS!!!!

Exile – “Klepto” (Video)

I have never really been a fan of rapping producers, but the latest single by frequent Blu collaborator and West Coast beatsmith Exile can get some run. Don’t expect to be wowed by any crazy bars as Exile goes in on what he deems wack emcees and producers, but the beat is pretty ill and you can ride out to it. The video for “Klepto” is kinda wild but it seems like the angle he was going for anyway. The album 4TRK Mind is out now.
