Current TV: Jon Stewart Crushes Bill O’Reilly In Political Debate (Video)

Cenk Uygur (host of The Young Turks on Current TV) covers the Bill O’Reilly – Jon Stewart face-off last Saturday night. The “Rumble In The Air-Conditioned Auditorium” was not the first time the two men have debated, but this time discussion was long enough to be called a debate. With lots of humor woven in, the two made points in their signature spirited (but not mean-spirited) manner. Cenk, in the video above, recaps the event held at a university in Washington, DC.

Comedy: Stephen Colbert Examines How ‘Body Language’ Is Important In The U.S. Presidential Debate (Video)

Stephen Colbert kills me! Comedy Central’s resident “conservative” declares that while United States Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney ‘distance[d] himself from everything he said on the campaign trail’… ‘it worked, so f##k it!’ Hahahaaaaa! But there were more important criteria than stuff like ‘facts’ or ‘consistency’ on which we should judge debate performance (says Colbert). We should be looking at Romney’s and President Barack Obama’s body language. So, in this clip, we do. Hilarious stuff. Can’t wait until the U.S. Vice Presidential debate and the other Presidential debates for more serious stuff. But for now… more laughter. Click play above. You’ll see…

Jon Stewart to President Obama via ‘The Daily Show’: Wake Up! (Video)

Okay, so President Obama did NOT have his best showing at the first of the 2012 Presidential Debates. Sure, moderator Jim Lehrer could have been more assertive – to wrest control of the event back from Mitt Romney (who was obviously the most confident and aggressive on stage) AND from the President. Yes, yes… all true… unfortunately. But that doesn’t mean that we cannot count on Jon Stewart to help us laugh about it. Be clear though: As Jon is so skilled at doing, he makes a serious point in the midst of his comical barrage. He made it directly to the President in his own Samuel Jackson-ish” way… He… well, just watch.

Killer Mike – “Reagan” (Video)

RAWNESS! Look at this Killer Mike video for “Reagan.” The animation is basic, but the message is powerful! Plus, the way they looped in Former U.S. President Ronald Reagan speech clips from the time of the Iran-Contra scandal. And man the lyrics… You know Killer Kill from Adamsville pulls NO punches calling out the ex-President. Note the chant at the end: 6…6…6… Ronald (6 letters) Wilson (6 letters) Reagan (6 letters)… as the demon blasts off… wowwww.

Nas Encourages Young People To Exercise Their Right To Vote (Video)

Here at JayForce.com we don’t get political… Ha! Couldn’t even say that without chuckling. But seriously, the vote is something all Americans should take seriously. Nas does. And he wants young Americans (especially college-age voters) to take it seriously, too. Good look, God Son. Watch the message above. Check out what Nas had to say below:

‘The future of this country is in the hands of the young people… Now that I’ve voted, I feel so much power that I didn’t feel before.’

Cover Story: Laura Flanders and Rashad Robinson on Fighting ALEC (Video)

I make it a point to watch Moyers & Company most every Sunday on PBS Atlanta. When I can, I attend live chat sessions and keep up with the web exclusives. Smart commentary on politics of the day. Last episode was an intriguing in-depth conversation on the agenda of the American Legislative Exchange Council, or ALEC.

ALEC pursues its goal – to influence lawmaking (mainly at the state level) – in ways that neglect U.S. citizens’ input and interests. This affects us! Remember the Trayvon Martin case? ALEC’s hand-print was all over the “Stand Your Ground” legislation that let shooter George Zimmerman delay investigation and indictment for so long!

Like so many organizations that aim to control our political process in the United States, ALEC is an evil hidden in plain view. We can fight it once we see and know about it. This Moyers & Company web exclusive – a conversation between GritTV’s Laura Flanders and Rashad Robinson, Executive Director of ColorofChange.org – helps put ALEC and its agenda in plain view. Watch. Listen. Tell a friend to, too. Learn how Rashad fought back and what ordinary folks can do. By the way, Election Day is only a month a way! Let’s GO!
