Yeezus: A Fan-Made Tour Film (Video)
How incredible is this?!?!? A fan-made video (uploaded by John Colandra) that takes the full essence and power of all the concert performances of the “Yeezus” Tour and put it into a two-hour compilation film! It’s like one seamless show with Kendrick Lamar as the opener. If you are Kanye West, you should watch and be amazed… maybe even shed a tear over the love you are getting from a fan like this. If you are not Kanye, hell you might shed a tear, too. Beautiful work!

(Smooth. No real wonder how he pulled supermodel Heidi Klum back in the day.)
Nas Spits “The World Is Yours” A Capella For VICE Japan (Video)
I believe this was a very slick way to get a Nas a capella for producers to rip from this video & do a remix to it. I see what VICE in Japan is doing.
In celebration of Nas’ 20th Anniversary of his debut album “Illmatic,” we got to hang out with him and record his a capella version of “The World is Yours†using our Music Video Recorders from Sony.
NPR: ‘Tiny Desk Concerts’ Series Welcomes T-Pain… Singing Without Auto-Tune Effects (Video)
Definitely a different look at T-Pain. By that, meaning a different sound of music accompanying the words that are coming out of his mouth. Just listen and watch the above Tiny Desk Concert T-Pain did for NPR. This is 13 minutes of some of Pain’s greatest and latest hits WITHOUT AUTO-TUNE.
“This is weird as hell for me.”

Samuel King – “What I Wasn’t Taught In School” (Video)
OMG! This was me in secondary school. Can’t help but laugh a bit. But this Samuel King… some serious business with the message he’s delivering in this dramatic spoken word piece delivered in a classroom setting.
A Spoken word short film for those frustrated at Black History teaching in schools. Disillusioned student Samuel King relays his grievances to his teacher that Black History Month isn’t taught with as much depth and with as much pride in schools. Samuel engages in a short rebuttal with his teacher, before arguing that education in school does little to satisfy his thirst for knowledge of influential people in Black history who seem to be elusive in the curriculum.
“There seems to be a lot you haven’t told us, and you shut down and hold back on the bold ones who stand against the way you’re trying to mold us.”
Great video. A must watch!
DJ Quik Tells ‘Sway In The Morning’ About His Days With Tha Row, About Music Through The Ages And More (Video)
Quik is the name. And if anyone can tell you about the game, esp. Hip-Hop on the West side, it’s DJ Quik. He stopped by to chop it up with ‘Sway In The Morning,’ talk about music back in the day (his and others’), music now (his, collabos), and even turns in a live performance.
(And on some real real… lean in around the 26-minute mark… just saying.)
Big K.R.I.T Freestyling On Sway In The Morning (Video)
It’s nothing… it’s easy! Sway put on the “Mind’s Playing Tricks On Me” beat and damn if Big K.R.I.T didn’t go in on it. Then hit ’em with some lyricals a capella from the LP like that was nothing… Effortless, but engaging, you wanna watch this Sway show snippet.
(Some insightful interview footage from K.R.I.T. after the jump, too.)
Give That ‘Bag Lady’ A Dollar… And Hear Some Badu’ism (Video)
Okay, so a quick break from Ebola… we bring you some E. Badu coverage. Right on the streets of New York, Badu doing something not-too-strange for some change. Sing it baby; sang! Then… record it with an iPhone and make a short film about it.
(Here it go!)

DWTS: Alfonso Ribero Hit ‘Em With “The Carlton Dance” … It’s OVER! (Video)
What ever did we call Alfonso Ribero’s world-famous jig off ‘The Fresh Prince of Bell Aire’ before he did it. WHO CARES? It is the epitome of fun; instantly inspiring ear-to-ear smiles and memories of the best of 90s comedy TV. Fonso is a shoe-in for Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) champ. You already know!
Ras Kass Assassinates ‘The Backroom’ with Apollo Brown Backing Him Up (Video)
“I put a rapper in a wheelchair like Degrassi.”
Several subtle jabs landed in this Backroom Freestyle off a recent 106 & Park. But before you get all anxious about whether those “hit” will figure ’em out and respond… Remember this is Ras Kass. So … um … not coming up with any on “the list” who’d risk taking that L. But enjoy the Ras flow tactics intro’d and produced by a long time fav on this site: Apollo Brown.
Kanye West Rocks ‘AAHH! Fest’ (Chicago) [Video]
It’s been said, “You can’t be a hero in your hometown.” Don’t know how many times it was said to Kanye West. No one is saying it now. Check out Kanye doing a full set at the AAHH Fest in Chicago. Common put it on. Gonna be an annual thing. Only right he joins Yeezy on stage for the shut down song, “Get ‘Em High.”

(Hopefully, ‘supplies’ have not run out.)
Above, the band took to the stage in conjunction with the U2/Apple/iTunes release announcement for “Songs of Innocence.” Hence the clip above, with Tim Cook (CEO of Apple) and Bono (U2 lead singer) making the announcement & countdown to release and a smidgen of performance footage.
“From the very beginning U2 have always wanted our music to reach as many people as possible, the clue is in our name I suppose—so today is kind of mind-blowing to us. The most personal album we’ve written could be shared with half a billion people… by hitting send. If only songwriting was that easy. It’s exciting and humbling to think that people who don’t know U2 or listen to rock music for that matter might check us out.â€
