San E – “Do It For Fun” feat. UNIONWAY x DJ Juice (Live)
Korean rapper San E released his single “Do It For Fun” on Christmas Eve. Well, rappers worldwide tend to do that… release singles. But what we have to show you above is video from his live performance that works in an homage to Kendrick Lamar’s performance of “i” on Saturday Night Live.
Nailed it! See after the jump for comparison.
Redman x Lord Finesse – “Toca Tuesdays Freestyle” (Video)
Red Man and Lord Finesse drop in on DJ Tony Touch’s “Toca Tuesdays” to drop a freestyle. That all. And if you know these two mic rippers… that’s all you need!

Large Professor Takes His ‘Rhythm Roulette’ Challenge Seriously (Video)
Large Pro… They caught up with me… We gone do this Rhythm Roulette…
Amazing that this epic episode has not happened sooner. Large Professor has done legendary work for legendary emcees and singers. And now that it has happened, Large Pro declares several times in the clip above that he is “not just gone make some ol’ bullsh!t” – which he does NOT!
Yooo… if you are a spitter, you will WANT this beat for yourself!! Ha! You slept! Tragedy is already jumping the track. WOOOOOOO!
For this installment of Rhythm Roulette, we connected with Extra P, aka Large Professor. We took the legendary Queens producer to Human Head Records in Brooklyn, where he picked three random records to begin a game of Rhythm Roulette. He ended up grabbing an Instant Funk record, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes’ Black and Blue album, and Shirley Scott’s On A Clear Day. From there, Extra P began to go through the records and create some new heat from what he picked.
Shout out to Tragedy Khadafi for the cameo.
A Tribe Called Quest Performs “Can I Kick It” On The Tonight Show (Video)
Wait… ATCQ… ALL of them? Damn right this goes up on the site! “Can I Kick It” without the question mark; no question. Just Questlove and The Roots backing up the brothers reunited to do one of their seminal hits for Jimmy Fallon’s live audience. Dope!
You can get the 25th Anniversary Edition of “People’s Instinctive Travels And The Paths Of Rhythm” now via the link below, too.
Dam-Funk Digs Into His Crates To Pull Off A ‘Boiler Room’ Party Mix (Video)
Funk, boogie, breaks… LPs and 45s… Dam-Funk is taking us on a near hour-and-a-half musical genre journey. With very little intro (by a cute little slimmie), we get right into the needle-dropping. What is pretty much an intimate listening party doesn’t stop until the end; only pausing for commentary or spontaneous crooning. Check out the video above. Nice!
Jadakiss Speaks On The ‘T5DOA’ Album, On Ghostwriting For Diddy And More (Video)
Baallliiiinnn! Jadakiss brought the bust from the Barclays. As promised in the headline (and as you’d expect with “Top 5 Dead Or Alive” nearing its November 20, 2015, release date), we have Jadakiss promoting his forthcoming album in his interview on ‘Sway In The Morning.’ Oh, and on ghostwriting for Diddy… not Jada’s fav thing to do.
But that still leaves the ‘And More’ part, doesn’t it? How about a dope azz freestyle? Yeah, nice right? Riiight. Catch that after the jump.
Watch A Real-Life JetPack Flown Around The Statue Of Liberty (Video)
YES! There have been clunkier attempts at this cool tech… but THIS is the JetPack we’ve waited for; the one that jumped out of comics, cartoons & sci-fi into our reality. You’re likely flashing back to our JetMan posts on here (you should, ’cause they are dope); BUT those flights were launched while the pilots were in the air already. This is not that. These are those Jonny Quest stand-on-the-ground, launch up-and-away joints. And the pilot in this one is flying over water, around the Statue of Liberty, sure. However, this Pack is not pushing water through a tube to propel itself over limited distances and heights.
THIS IS THE REAL TAKE-OFF AND LAND ON YOUR OWN FUN TECH!
(Wow. Blown away. Thank you JB-9 inventor/pilot David Mayman of JetPack Aviation.)
Talib Kweli & Rapsody Perform “Every Ghetto” Live On ‘The Tonight Show’ (Video)
OHHH! The sound, the style, the swagger. What’s not to love about this live performance of “Every Ghetto” by Talib Kweli; featuring Rapsody and musical backing by The Roots. Got the music video and Indie 500 (Kweli and 9th Wonder) album pre-order linked below from an earlier post.
Japanese Sword Master Isao Machii Slices Through A 100-MPH Fastball (Video)
Above: Poised and ready to strike is Guinness World Record-holder Isao Machii, a master of Laido (a Japanese sword-based martial art). The latest demonstration of craft mastery from this “modern-day samurai  oh… just cutting a baseball, flying at him at 100 mph, in half while standing about 30 feet away from where it was fired. That’s all. You do know that a baseball mound is over twice that far from a major league batter at home plate, right?
Watch reeeeallly close in the clip above. The slice so deadly precise happens in the blink of an eye!

The 2015 BET Cyphers: Def Squad Reunited (Video)(Video)
The headline says it all; like its own byline. Did you see the Cyphers this year? Always the best part of the BET Hip-Hop Awards. We expect a ‘wow’ moment or two from the Awards’ broadcast; and a Cypher is a good bet for a source. Well, there was [at least] a BIG one in this year’s – Erick Sermon, Keith Murray and Redman spitting with DJ Scratch taking the Preemo spot (see what we did there?) for the set. Def Squad comes back to life for the night! Good to see.
Click the pic above to start with the Squad. Got the rest of this year’s Cyphers linked after the jump.

How The Magic Happens: Penn & Teller Show How Their Balls Trick Works (Video)
Back in my day, if you walked into a theater and two dudes were swapping cups and playing with balls… well… you just might have walked into the wronnng theater, dude. HAHAAAAAA!
Or not, no judgments.
But feel free to use your most discerning eye to see if legendary duo Penn and/or Teller actually give away the secret to one of their magic tricks. These guys’ performances are always incredible; definitely a bucket list item. Check out the video above.
Penn & Teller break the rules of magic and show the secrets behind one of the oldest magic tricks in the book.

Comedy: Jimmy Fallon Sings “Hello” With Lionel Richie… Sort Of (Video)
Gotta love when Fallon goes old school; always a special musical comedic experience. Watch here above, as he turns in a rendition of Lionel Richie’s R&B classic “Hello.” He has landed the ultimate assist on this song/sketch, too; Mr. Lionel Richie himself. Well, his head, at least.
(What makes it funny is how they keep straight faces throughout the silliness they are putting down. Good stuff!)
Big Grams – “Fell in the Sun” (Live) [Video]
Big Boi and Phantogram have merged, at least for a bit, to form the super-group Big Grams. And they are already on the move, with a self-titled EP on iTunes (which features the likes of Run the Jewels and Skrillex). Above, watch Big Grams hitting the national TV stage, performing their single “Fell in the Sun†on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon (backed by The Roots), to support its release.
Check out the performance, and hit the link to get that EPÂ if you like. Also, to learn a bit more about this collaboration, hit the jump to see Big Grams’ interview with Power 105’s Breakfast Club.
NPR: “Tiny Desk Concerts†Series Welcomes “The Internet” (Video)
Straight outta Los Angeles, and Odd Future, The Internet – featuring founding members Syd The Kid (vocals/production) and Matt Martians (keys/ production), as well as Pat Paige (bass), Jameel Bruner (keys) and Chris Smith (drums) – falls through NPR to do a “Tiny Desk Concert.†The kind of Alternative that The Internet brings to your ears… well… it’s hard to describe. Good thing you have the above video to watch (and the “Ego Death” album link, via earlier post on here, to listen to).
Here’s an attempt at description: Think R&B’d out Hip-Hop swagger meeting homegrown Neo-Soul with a 21st century twist.
Yep. That’s the best description for it. And nope, that doesn’t quite cover it. But yep, you will enjoy it… perhaps enough to cop the album here.
Miguel Gives A Mini-Concert To Raise Awareness And Help Poor Working Class Families (Video)
This is what art is for: touching the lives of people where they live. Miguel, doing so sharing his music and a personal backstory to connect, gave a private mini-concert in partnership with the Make Room group (www.MakeRoomUSA.org). About 35 lives will never be the same. People packed into a small home outside Detroit (Michigan, USA), singing, clapping and getting a little chocked up; while Miguel uses his gift and platform as a performing artist to raise awareness of working single parents struggling to keep roofs over their families’ heads.
Start watching above as Miguel does “Coffee.” Then check out “What’s Normal Anyway” and “Adorn” after the jump to round out the set.
Jill Scott Performs “Run Run Run” (Live)
Just saying: Jill Scott is looking good! She looking for another background dude? Sure, it’s work; but the view… whew!
Alright, now on to the biz. Jilly From Philly gave a high energy performance of “Run Run Run” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The song is part of the “Woman” project out now, linked (via earlier post) below.
