Science: Heather Berlin Asks, “Who Is Your Brain?” (Video)
Interesting! Check out this TEDx Talk from Dr. Heather Berlin – neuroscientist, spouse of consciousness rapper Baba Brinkman, and mother of a new ‘experiment in diapers.’
“Dr. Berlin examines the relationship between the brain and mind, with a focus on borderline personality disorder. She looks at the neurological basis of identity, taking apart the stigmas that are often attached to mental illness.
By understanding how disordered minds construct a sense of self, we can gain insight into the selves that each of us creates through our choices and interactions with the world.”
– TEDx Talks
Hmm… the Doc’s got content on PBS and Discovery and off Broadway. Yup. Now she is on my radar!
Why White People Should NOT Use The N-Word, Even If Black People ‘Use It All The Time’ (Video)
Ta-Nehisi Coates with no malice or attempt at ‘points scored’… but this is a plain and simple explanation of why the n-word is “NOT” when it comes to White people speaking the word.
Context is key.

Dr. Charshee McIntyre Lectures On The History & Science Of Afrikans and Native Americans (Video)
Strength, beauty, honor, AND knowledge! Pay attention as Dr. Charshee McIntyre breaks it down in spite of diagnoses that would have many think she is ‘diseased’… Nah, she is in a constant state ‘dis ease’ (as in, “ill at ease”). Through her lineage, Afrikan and Native American (Cherokee-Choctaw in her instance), she speaks truth to her (read: our) existence and how we have diminished our humanity.
Dr. McIntyre gets deeper in depth in her lecture above. Rep. Maxine Waters popularized ‘reclaiming my time’… Dr. McIntyre implores us all to ‘claim our heritage’ and reclaim OUR humanity!
Yes, OUR humanity – Black, Red, White – all coming out of Africa… all intermingled genetically now. Traced back many, many millennia to The Motherland.
(Oh, and several historical myths are getting blown up in here. Sorry, not sorry, Columbus!)
Theo E.J. Wilson’s TED Talk About Insights He Gained From Infiltrating The Alt-Right (Video)
“I became Lucius25, White supremacist lurker, and digitally I began to infiltrate the infamous alt-right movement.”
— Theo E.J. Wilson
Interesting point Wilson makes not too far in. The things we see online today are fed to us by an algorithm that determines what we might buy, and what we want to see & hear, and feeds us mre and more of that… and just that. So liberal feed fed Theo comes up with the idea of creating Lucius25 super-racist, and troll those who would troll him.
And he came to a new understanding about it all. Very interesting watch!

Ice-T’s TEDxSingSing Talk On ‘Surviving’ (Video)
Recent throwback TEDx talk from Ice T. Great insights and a very worthwhile watch. In fact, I should not have even mentioned the throwback aspect. Relevant to today. Hear some real life struggles from the former light-skinned, light-eyed little kid named Tracy who had to turn gangsta just to survive growing up.

Mars: To Boldly Go Where No Human Has Gone Before, Space X Will Need To Get A Lander Up And The Cost Of Relocating To Mars Down (Video)
Wow, so SpaceX is launching its manned Mars lander in 2020? Wow. The goal of ‘making humans a multi-planetary species’ seems kind of far out, and that is the point. Mars is the next planet over, sure, but it ain’t just “next door.” It is far out there.
SpaceX Founder, CEO, and Lead Designer Elon Musk will discuss the long-term technical challenges that need to be solved to support the creation of a permanent, self-sustaining human presence on Mars. The technical presentation will focus on potential architectures for sustaining humans on the Red Planet that industry, government and the scientific community can collaborate on in the years ahead.
– SpaceX
Interesting. Musk is the first big wig in space matters to address why we are trying to just go back to the moon… It is not a good candidate for terraforming (e.g. we cannot make an Earth-like planet of it). Watch the presentation above and read a bit more below.
Education: What Is ‘Infinity’… Really? (Video)
I know you are, but what I am I… I know you are, but what am I… Infinity!
If you had a nerdy Peewee’s Playhouse-watching friend (like me) growing up – or if you were that friend – then you instantly got the reference AND significance to the quote above. Hit the jump if you need clueing in. Ahhh, Peewee Herman: debate champ and math scholar. Hahaaaa! Invoking the concept of infinity to shut down a hater. Science!
Infinity is an elusive concept that can often be difficult to comprehend. In order to better define what infinity actually is, we brought in Eugenia Cheng, a mathematician and the author of “Beyond Infinity.”
Hands up if you ever countered someone with ‘infinity plus one’ though. C’monnnnn, you can admit it. That’s the paradox!
(Well, this gives new meaning to Souls Of Mischief’s “93 Til Infinity”…maybe).

Robert Reich Enumerates Four Ways Trump Is Trying To Control The Media (Video)
What are the 4 ways Trump is trying to control the media? Watch our video and see how tyranny begins.
– Inequality Media
Wow. Did Former Secretary Reich draw a direct line between Donald Trump’s tactics and Adolph Hitler’s? Too much? Spot on? Watch and deliberate.

Romany Malco Reveals ‘The Racket Of Racism’ (Video)
Romany ‘Q’ Malco has been spitting facts since he was spitting rhymes back in the day with College Boyz (yeah, Google that sh!t). But this vid right here? Wooooo… KNOWLEDGE METER ON OVERLOAD! Malco calls this one “The Racket Of Racism.” Very thorough. Takes a bit of time (well spent) to get through. But the time will fly. Necessary viewing.
(Unpacking complex issues to simple truths. Great work!)

Science: Why Don’t Ants Get Stuck In Traffic? (Video)
More smart programming produced by PBS Digital Studios. Brilliant insights in this vid on what ants have to teach us about building efficient traffic networks. Such simple solutions, but many seem impossible. Because they are? NO.
Because…us!
Just watch, and maybe remember this the next time you’re stuck in that road jam downtown.
Prince Ea – “Dear Angry Facebook User, This Is For You” (Video)
If you don’t like something, why are you giving it so much airtime… like you are getting paid to promote it?
– Prince Ea
Man, Prince Ea is talking about some powerful stuff. Love power. The power of positivity. That is not to say, “Do not be aware” or “Never get angry.” He’s saying don’t SPREAD anger and negativity (on Facebook or anywhere), and spread awareness and act from a place of love. Good stuff.

Mike Adams Of Health Rangers Speaks On The Purposeful Poisoning Of Black People In America (Video)
Water poisoning is a tactic of terrorists and enemy combatants. Sounds like something someone at war with you would do. How about the KNOWN poisoned water citizens of Flint (Michigan, USA) were made to drink? Medical practice coverups and false diagnoses, predatory targeting… not in against U.S. citizens in America, right? Ever hear of The Tuskegee Syphilis Study?
That feeling you are feeling; hang on to it. Let it burn as researcher/journalist Mike Adams tells you what he knows to be the truth of American industries and government… let’s say… NOT PROTECTING Black people. Even if you cannot bring yourself to believe, you should make yourself watch.
Don’t just go quietly into the night.
Remembering Biggie Through The Samples Used In His Music (Video)
An audiovisual showcase of source samples used in Notorious B.I.G.’s works. Teach DJ. TEACH! Turntable lecture in session, folks. Pay attention!
Stephen A. Smith Says “Racism Doesn’t Exist” For Today’s Youth… They Strongly Disagree! (Video)
ESPN commentator and show host Stephen A. Smith stressed that “racism doesn’t exist†anymore and that “White folks got problems, too,†during a Black History Month speech he delivered at The University of South Alabama. He probably spoke his true convictions, as always. That doesn’t mean he’s not wrong. In fact, watch some youth (Black and White) school ‘folks’ [that believe in Stephen’s point of view]. They have an entirely different truth to share – that racism still exists – with FACTS to back it up. Impressive!
KRS-ONE – Black History Month: Lessons 1 & 2 (Lecture Audio)
Black History Month: Lessons 1 and 2 is an eye-opening lecture of Black historical teachings by KRS-ONE. Narrated by Kris himself, this is a critique of Black History Month itself, re-frames the historical narrative of Black people in America properly, speaks of Black consciousness, cites and honors Black revolutionaries (past & present), and covers modern-day Black intellectuals. Mainly, Black History Month: Lessons 1 and 2 is meant to do away with misinformation regarding the African American ancestral narrative. Who better to do this with sharp intellectual analysis, retrievable facts, cited literature and poignant commentary than KRS-ONE? Nobody!
And what price is better than FREE? But, yeah, about that. Maybe… consider PAYING something for it; chipping in whatever you feel is doable financially. Because THIS is worthy work by a man who has been The Teacha to us all (Hip-Hop Nation, Black people AND Humanity) for so long. He did not have to do this. But once you click play you will be so glad he did!
Science/Technology: Doctors Can 3D Print Body Parts And Tissue (Video)
Above: Surgeon Anthony Atala talking about the real possibility (read: eventuality) that humans will be able to manufacture replacement parts for their bodies as easily as they make parts for cars (cars have bodies, get it?). The video punctuates recent huge steps in a positive direction in the science. Consider a convo about ink refills for your laser printer so you can turn your school paper in on time. Now, swap in 3-D printer refills; and the story could very well be about getting refills to generate another organ (kidney, liver), so you can turn it… into a second chance at life!
(Imagine: Honey, I burned myself badly again. Can you pick up a couple of organ material refills. I need to print up some replacement skin. Wowww!)
How real is this? Doctors (headed by Dr. Atala) at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine announced yesterday that they’ve managed to 3D print “living” tissue and organs that functioned properly when implanted in animals. Human trials are probably not that far away.
