Trinidad James – “Gold On My Macbook” (LAKIM Refix)
Believe it. A post on Trinidad James.
Trinidad James is blowing up. Allegedly he’s already signed to Def Jam. Although I’m not an fan of what I’ve heard of his music so far, this remix right here trumps everything. Now don’t start dissing this before you hear it. I’m sure this remix will not be what you expect. In a good way. Check out “Gold On My Macbook” (LAKIM Refix) below.
Black Milk – Demo Beats 2012
Detroit producer & emcee Black Milk took to his soundcloud page to release some of the beats he’s cooked up for 2012 for his fans’ audio consumption. It’s about time we heard something from Black Milk who seemed to be rather quiet for most of the year. I’m still hoping he drops an official song & video for that ‘Don Cornelius’ joint he teased us with a while back. After listening sitting here listening to these instrumental demo joints, the track that catches my attention the most occurs around the 2:50 mark. That’s that gritty Detroit hip hop most of us fiend for. Black Milk has to stop disappearing like this. I’d like to see Black Milk put out more videos from past albums while in between projects to hold fans over until the new stuff is done. Until he does I guess these demo instrumentals should suffice for how.
Karriem Riggins- ‘Summer Madness’ (Video)
Stones Throw Records’ Karriem Riggins comes out with a hot one! “Summer Madness” is instrumental ear candy, as well as a feast for the eyes. The dope visuals (above) keep up with the change-ups in the track nicely. Good stuff. Directed by Donavan Glover and Gerard Victor, the video was produced by Kay Mohamed for Shot Selection. Liking the get home, get changed, get out, and get it in trip this video takes you on. Groove and chill to this.

Yamin Semali – “Yen Dollar Music: Vol. 1” (Album)
Nice instrumental project from the homie Yamin Semali (aka DJ AmDex of Clan Destined). The entire “Yen Dollar Music: Vol. 1” album was written, produced, directed, and mixed by Yamin Semali… so get off the tip or get off the many tips (okay, had a KRS-ONE moment)! Dope cover art by High Impact Multimedia (photography by Linda Costa) by the way. Stream it and check it out below.
R&B/Soul: BamaLoveSoul – “On Deck Alumni” (Mixtape)
BamaLoveSoul put together a tasty mix of music (vinyl ‘plates’ available at the link below). The “On Deck Alumni” mix is the truth – overflowing with soul, R&B, instrumental, and smooth Hip-Hop grooves. The mix is blended together wonderfully, and served with Love, as we’ve come to expect from BamaLoveSoul. Stream it and get a plate here. Enjoy!

King I Divine x LD Henriquez – “Fly”
King I Divine tapped London poet LD Henriquez to help bless us with a dope instrumental album titled “Cloud 127” (due out October 2012). “Fly” is the first release off the collaborative effort. In the words of King I Divine:
‘”Fly” is the first release off of the collaborative ambient Hip-Hop album “Cloud 127” by King I Divine and LD Henriquez. “Fly” is good vibes, a dope musical compilation, and a taster of what to expect from the album. Please check it out and share it with your people. Thank you for supporting good music.’

R&B/Jazz: Freddie Joachim – “Waiting” (Album)
Freddie Joachim has dropped a seven-track album entitled “Waiting” – promising another album (“Fiberglass Kisses”) by October 2012. “Waiting” is loaded with instrumentals and beat tracks… and they are all DOPE! Respect the work! Better yet, you can support the worker by copping the entire album here.
Kan Sano – “Everybody Loves The Sunshine” (Roy Ayers Cover)
OMG are you kidding me! Shout to Brand Nubian, but this Kan Sano joint is the NEW favorite flip of a Roy Ayers staple. This “Everybody Loves The Sunshine” cover is so smooth… instrumental joy peppered with vocal vibes. It’s perfect! Go get your FREE download of this dopeness. That’s right.

Cid Rim – “A Fall Four Two”
What are you doing Sunday? Nah…you’re playing this joint AND doing whatever you said! This smooth Cid Rim instrumental, “A Fall Four Two,” is JayForce-approved for vibing on a Sunday. The folks at BamaLoveSoul have hooked us up again. Glad I am on their e-mailing list! Note: Cir Rim’s “A Fall Four Two” is available on his self-titled debut micro-album available online here.
Tall Black Guy – “Desperte se Rápido” (Instrumental)
From his 11-track digital album, “Brazilian Chronicles” (out now), Tall Black Guy releases this instrumental gem, “Desperte se Rápido.” A nice uplifting message at the end, too. The commentary at the ends sounds like the voice of Bobby McFerrin but I could be wrong though. You can get “Brazilian Chronicles” – a montage of Brazilian-sampled music (including “Desperte se Rápido”) – by following the link provided here.

Cardiak – “The Emergency Room” Vol. 1 (Instrumentals)
New Jersey’s own producer extraordinaire Cardiak has released his first all-instrumental download, “The Emergency Room” Vol. 1, featuring music for “Lean Wit It,” “600 Benz,” “Start It Up,” “Outlaw,” and more. The Willingboro, New Jersey (outside of Philadelphia) based producer is definitely seeing his stock rise so he’s letting loose some freebies for the emcees to get busy over or for those of us who dig his beats. My favorite is the ‘Lean Wit It’ joint he produced for Meek Mill. Also included in his new mixtape are beats that have never been heard prior to this release. Get “The Emergency Room” Vol. 1 by Cardiak right here or listen to the beats from the project below…

Freddie Joachim – “Binoculars”
We don’t know for sure, but this joint has GOT to be on a Freddie Joachim EP…full-length album…something! No need to waste this. Love the way the beat builds from a talk-off sample; then around 45 seconds in BAM! You get hit with a serious urge to nod your head…and not stop! Put “Binoculars” in your ear NOW. Click and listen. Thank us later. And you’re welcome.

Nesby Phips- “The Floorsleepers V” (Instrumental Album)
Nesby Phips presents the fifth instrumental project in its series, “Floorsleepers V,” featuring production by Trakspecialist, 3M Productions, Jonasty, and Nesby Phips himself. Art work by Nesby Phips himself (nice). Though we have been given this joint to enjoy now, Nesby is in the studio readying another: “0017th: Hollygrove Ain’t Enough” (due out July 17, 2012). The prior Floorsleepers releases, other Phipstapes (e.g downloadable mixtapes), merchandise, and the like are available at www.NesbyPhips.com. You can get “Floorsleepers V” there, too; or you can get it right here.

R&B/Jazz: Quiet Dawn – “Sunshine”
Quiet Dawn is a producer, arranger, and radio host from Paris, France. He does music in the Hip-Hop, Nu Jazz, Nu Soul, Broken Beat, and Deep House genres. This track caught my ear right from the click – a smooth instrumental melody that made me nod and bob. Get down to “Sunshine” however you do when a mellow groove comes through your speakers.

14KT – “Blessed” (Video)
“Blessed” is a feature single from the 2012 album “A Friendly Game of KT” by Ypsilanti’s (Michigan) own 14KT. The feel of this instrumental track is conveyed beautifully in this video. Director Andy Madeleine and 14KT collaborate to take the viewer on a scrapbook tour of snapshots of 14KT’s life. By the end of the journey, you cannot help but feel that it is a wonderful life. Enjoy.
