Technology: British Inventor Presents His Take On The ‘Iron Man’ Flight Suit (Video)
Okay, Robert Downey Jr. studied Elon Musk to capture his essence and channel it to bring ‘Iron Man’ to life on the big screen. Fact. But what about the flying armor suit tech? Is that ever gonna come to life? Could be.
A British inventor has created his very own human propulsion jet suit – he’s being dubbed the real-life ‘Iron Man.’
– Sky News
Yes, Richard Browning has done a lot of falling down to get up to this point. And he admits in the video there is a way to go before humans will be using this for anything like day-to-day human transport. But this video is SO much like that scene when Tony Stark was building the Mark II suit in ‘Iron Man.’ After the jump, you’ll see that clip and more video on the prototype jet suit.
10 Actors Who Quit The Business (Video)
It happens. Every now and then, you get to thinking about a man or woman who played some memorable role in a movie or TV series… Often you know or find out that they are still around; maybe they moved on to the next thing (like Patrick Stewart, doing Captain Picard going from Star Trek: The Next Generation to the Professor X of the X-Men franchise) or they are still riding the hell out of their lane (Hugh Jackman does other stuff, but he IS Wolverine). But what about those one-and-done actors. Some have left this mortal life (RIP Michael Clarke Duncan from The Green Mile), but others just quit. Why?
For these 10, here’s why. Some are VERY interesting (like the two young’ns from the Star Wars franchise). Watch.

Snoop Dogg – “Trash Bags” (Live Performance)
These guys know how to mix fun and serious business. Jimmy Kimmel and Snoop Dogg doing the damn thing on the tube again; not ‘roasting’ on Comedy Central, rather with Snoop performing “Trash Bags” on Jimmel Kimmel Live.
And the re-THICK-ulous dancing girls on stage made it an extra ‘special’ night on stage. But for something really special, hit the jump (more footage of Snoop’s time with Kimmel).
ESPN President John Skipper Speaks At The Tuskegee University Commencement And…
…it was a CELEBRATION! Strike up the band… the best band in the land, the Tuskegee University Golden Virtuosos!!
Wow. I have a LOT of family and friends who are Tuskegee Institute and Tuskegee University alumni. I may well have attended myself, but The University Of Alabama ended up being the best option (financially, mainly) for continuing my education post-high school. However, anyone who grew up in ‘Skegee can tell you that TU and the town that surrounds it are bound in many ways; especially on Football Saturdays (Homecoming Weekend = Off The Meter!) and special commemorations. So, I may not be a TU alum, but I am a true Tuskegeean (46!)… and trust me, that is way past close enough for me join in celebrating this.
See more footage and some of what students and Presidents Skipper and Johnson had to say on this occasion after the jump.
(Wonder if any of this made SportsCenter over the weekend? Best bet for worthy coverage is ESPN’s ‘The Six’ with Jemele Hill and Michael Smith.)

Shaquille O’Neal Says He Is Running For Sheriff In 2020 (Video)
Heeee’s Shaq The Sheriff… and who will be the dep-u-ty?
(Sing it like, “I Shot The Sheriff,” and it’ll make sense. Maybe.)
This is about bringing people closer together. You know, when I was coming up, people love and respected the police, the deputies. And I want to be the one to bring that back, especially in the community I serve.
– Shaquille O’Neal
Hmmm… Shaq has homes in Florida and Georgia (right here with us in Metro Atlanta). He’s been a deputy (honorary, but still) and even ‘policed’ Kevin Hart on ‘Real House Husbands’… soooo, like, he’s qualified sort of? Go on and watch. You know you are interested!
Saving An Ancient Language Using Pop Music (Video)
Something very Hip-Hop about this story. We (Hip-Hop Nation, Black people, all people) know about griots who tell stories they were told, preserving history through generations, how slaves communicated stories (and plans) through song, and how Hip-Hop built on those traditions, speaking to and through the Culture… Well, Renata is doing that at the essence; not just speaking stories, but attempting to save the mode of speech (her language) itself using songs.
Renata Flores is a 16-year-old singer from Peru who is using her voice to save an ancient language. Though Quechua is the second-most spoken language in Peru, native speakers have suffered from discrimination and social stigma for generations, and today, many young people aren’t learning the language at all. But with her powerful vocals to covers of pop songs by Michael Jackson and Alicia Keys in her native tongue, Flores is sparking a renewed celebration of Quechuan language and culture.

The Penn Relays 2017 by Jamaine Mungo For JAYFORCE.COM (Video)
Posted this little snip so you all can see what it is like to be in the midst of massive pure human energy on level 12! Anyone who might have seen the subject of this post and thought, “Penn Relays… so that’s a big deal?” YES! It’s a big tings a Gwan!!! Peace to the homie “Maine” for sharing this firsthand experience for this piece, too.
Began running track my freshman year in high school, attended Maple Shade High School, New Jersey. My events were 400m, 800m and the 4×400 meter relay. Along with my teammates, we always trained hard and wanted to win. Our mindset was that hard work pays off and it certainly did. The start of outdoor track & field started in March and we all knew that once April approached it would be time for the Penn Relays. We knew that once we stepped on that track at Penn Relays, it would be “Game Timeâ€. It is an indescribable feeling of pure energy, excitement, and adrenaline once you step on to the track at Penn Relays.
After high school, I continued my track career at Virginia State University running the 400m, 800m and 4x400m events. Throughout my time at VSU, I ran the 4x400m, sprint medley and distant medley relay events at the Penn Relays. Every year that I’ve run at the Penn Relays, there was that same electrifying feeling was always there and I always ran my personal best time.
There is an overall natural feeling of excitement for any athlete from high school, collegiate to olympian who steps onto the track at the University of Pennsylvania for the Penn Relays. A majority of athletes run their fastest times at the track that is known as a “fast trackâ€. The Penn Relay carnival kicks off on a Tuesday and goes until Saturday. Athletes range from all age groups from middle school, high school, college, Olympians, and masters groups whom still compete at the golden age of 75+ running the 100m dash.
This is the largest Track & Field competition that is hosted where you can see all forms of athletes from all different age groups, various events and guaranteed to see some fast times on the track from the world’s best athletes.
So, you got a stadium packed with 90,000 fans – cheering, shouting, blowing horns, rattling all kinds of noisemakers and reveling with each other –
transferring that energy to the athletes who are now overcharged to run their fastest. Tradition, excellence, positive potential energy turned kinetic in the best ways. The Penn Relays started in April 21st, 1895 and is showing no signs of slowing down. It continues to get larger each year. The last race this year ended early Saturday evening, and just like that, it is over… until next year! – Jamaine

Science: A 300-Year-Old River In Canada Vanished In Just 4 days (Video)
Wow. A river dried up about as fast as a big puddle after a heavy rain! Because a glacier retreated too fast. Because climate change (e.g. global warming) some scientists believe.
One of Canada’s rivers has vanished. The Slims River has been flowing through Canada for 300 years, but in 2016 something happened that caused it to vanish in the blink of an eye. In just four days, the river dipped in height so much that it could not recover. Today, the only evidence of the Slims River is its empty, thirsty channel. Scientists attribute the river’s disappearance to our warming climate and predict that future rivers may suffer the same fate.

History: The Cruel Ads Of Andrew Jackson And ‘The Master Class’
Full disclosure: This sh!t will probably make you cussin’ mad.
You’ve heard that former Presidents all the way back to the Founding Fathers of the United States owned slaves and did terrible things to Black people just ’cause with no just cause… right? Please tell me you know this. Well, if you ‘heard about it’ and sort of dismissed it as heresay, how about you take a read of the article linked below and see the $50 bounty ad that Andrew Jackson (yep, Andrew Jackson that was the President) put out for the capture of his “Mulatto Man Slave†wherein he offered “ten dollars extra, for every hundred lashes any person will give him, to the amount of three hundred.â€
DAMMIT! So infuriating. I’d call him a son of a b!tch, but I actually like dogs. But I don’t like Massa Jacksun. Not a bit.
He was not the only one, of course. But this hard evidence was gathered – and must serve as a reminder – of what America at even its highest levels did to Black people, and how they viewed Blacks as less than ‘people,’ not so long ago. Read on…

The Assassination Of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr (Documentary)
“Martin Luther King, Jr. was an American clergyman, activist, and prominent leader of the African-American civil rights movement and Nobel Peace Prize laureate who became known for his advancement of civil rights by using civil disobedience. He was assassinated at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1968, at the age of 39. King was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:05PM that evening. The King family and others believe that the assassination was carried out by a conspiracy involving the US government, as alleged by Loyd Jowers in 1993, and that James Earl Ray was a scapegoat. In a 1999 civil trial that did not name the US government as a defendant and sought $100 from Jowers, with both the family and Jowers cooperating together and the only presenting parties, the jury ruled against Jowers and Unidentified Conspirators”
Rewind: Judge Joe Brown Says James Earl Ray Didn’t Assassinate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr (Video)
It’s been almost 50 years to this date, April 4th, that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr was assassinated in Memphis Tennessee. Judge Joe Brown was the last judge to preside over alleged shooter, James Earl Ray’s case. To this very day Judge Joe Brown still believes “he didn’t kill him.” Judge Joe Brown says he didn’t believe Ray was the gunman despite his guilty plea. Joe Brown denied that he was involved in Dr. King’s murder but plead guilty because he felt it was in his best interest under the circumstances given.
Men’s Rights & Gender Equality Explored In New Documentary called “The Red Pill” (Trailer)
When the societal scale of justice tips, we expect them to tip towards fairness; to balance the disadvantaged, right? But what happens when the scale tips too far? What’s worse, what happens when the ‘newly vicitimized’ are persecuted for coming forward…let alone for standing up for themselves? Why all this double-talk and roundabout conjecture speak? Because this post is about men speaking up about how they are being victimized by a culture that more and more favors women – at the expense of men.
When a feminist filmmaker sets out to document the mysterious and polarizing world of the Men’s Rights Movement, she begins to question her own beliefs. The Red Pill chronicles Cassie Jaye’s journey exploring an alternate perspective on gender equality, power and privilege.
Intriguing. And now Cassie Jaye no longer even calls herself a feminist. She must have found some deep sh!t. Hit the jump for an extended teaser trailer and expo on “The Red Pill.” And you can get deeper in depth with USA Today on the topic of ‘masculinity under fire’ by following the link below.

Hiplet: Now Hip-Hop Is En Pointe (Video)
I will admit to turning a ‘side eye’ to Hip-Hop dance brought into a ballet milieu. Though I was not mad like the why-are-THOSE-PEOPLE-invading-our-artful-dance ballet purists. I was mad like F##K-their-fancy-shmancy-dancy-sh!t, we got our OWN legit dance practiced by the WORLDWIDE Hip-Hop Nation!
But seeing this helped me realize that whatever we do that aspires to LOVE, PEACE, UNITY, and HAVING FUN (word to Africa Bambatta and Soul Brother #1 Mr. James Brown) is a good thing.
A man of color forges a new art form that allows anyone to be down; first and foremost the have-nots and those previously left out. That art form grows, gets embraced by those for whom it was meant and is spread to, through and by everyone who enjoys it. Sound like a familiar story? This IS Hip-Hop showing its essence in another form, no less true. And it is beautiful.
So are the ladies doing it in the above mini-documentary. Wowee-wow-WOW. I love these HIPS… I mean Hiplet dancers!
(Hey, they are fine af ok? You see ’em. And if you’re mad at that, you can stay mad. Ha!)
Watch this. Enlightenment awaits. I was thoroughly edutained (educated and entertained, word to KRS-ONE). Bet you will be, too!
