Richard Overton Speaks On Living 109 Years… Well (Mini-Documentary)
How do you live 109 years? I am not sure any of us actually know the answer; not even Richard Overton. But I do believe that however long you live, it is on you to ensure that you LIVE your years. That’s gotta be the lesson of Mr. Overton’s life for us.
Meet Richard Overton, America’s oldest veteran. In this lively short film by Matt Cooper and Rocky Conly, hear the whiskey-drinking, cigar-smoking supercentenarian reveal his secrets to a long life.

Recess In Real Life: Watch These Professional Tag Players Play (Video)
Because YES! Whoever picks this up, tell me where and when you are broadcasting, and I am tuning in. Promise. Bonus: Got an idea to amp this up. Put all this in a ‘danger room’ setup (like Gladiators, but cooler) and have folks slinging heavy high-speed burgundy dodgeballs. Dodgeball AND tag to the extreme!
(Maybe next work on a ‘Four Square meets Double Dutch’ game; or sandlot football where you bust through a team’s Red Rover line to score. Solid gold ideas!)

Fear Not, Robots Cannot Take All Our Jobs (Video)
Alright, the professor starts boldly with ‘We have to embrace creative destruction’ in his pitch to have us understand how technological advancement is a good thing for humanity and industry. But then he inserts and asserts “…and yes there are definitely some jobs being replaced.” So which is it, Doc, are we celebrating tech gains or job losses? Actually, it’s a bit of both; but it will be alright. Watch.
Erik Brynjolfsson, the director of the MIT Center for Digital Business, explains how robots will enhance our future economy. They will not be taking our jobs but instead helping to create new ones.

Watch A Real Life Transformer… Transform! (Video)
Transformer crazy nowadays, right? Especially with “The Last Knight” movie trying to blow up summer box offices. Well, whenever we get hold of something in the life-imitates-art department regarding Transformers, best believe it’s going up on here. Viola! An update from MSN on some real-life Transformer tech we posted on a while back. They (you know, the ‘powers that be’) must want to make it hard to embed and keep, so watch this while you can ASAP! Heck, the video we posted on here earlier already got yanked. Wonder if that means… Hmmm.
Hobby/Craft: How To Make A Mini Crossbow (Video)
Hmm. Doesn’t look all that dangerous. More like hobby/crafty/fidgety fun. Of course, a mini crossbow that shoots toothpicks might cause a bit more of a sting than a paper airplane or a spitball. Schools can handle any ‘offenders’ who misuse this toy in the classroom: detention or whatever punishment they are doling out nowadays. Let’s just enjoy this vid for what it is, a cool do-it-yourself how-to.
If you don’t feel like making one, it looks like you can buy a toothpick crossbow… still, but the number of sellers may be dwindling. Follow the ‘more’ link below to see why. Watch the video first though.

Need more of this. Keep doing this Hip-Hop. Keep spotlighting it WSHH (respect for this).

Ice Cube Honored With A Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame (Video)
I’ll admit that I had not given much thought to stuff like this, mainstream Hollywood’s recognition of Ice Cube’s work, but it’s about time! Now, the Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer can point to his own star on Hollywood’s Walk Of Fame. That’s cool. Very cool. Congrats, Cube!

Acting goals. Haha! Zoe Saldana shares her passion for people helping people who are fighting to make it, about her experiences with regard to Afro-Latinos and culture, the prevalence of sexism in the film industry, on her film “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2.” Some good ‘preaching’ in here (advice, inspiration).

Food/Travel: Rare Taiwanese Mutton Dish Is Dangerous And Delicious (Video)
Okay, so that blowfish sushi could kill the person eating it. Their choice. But this dish risks (e.g. shortens) the life of the chef?? Daaaamn! That better be some good azz mutton. And (hand raised)… um… what is mutton exactly?
We visited a legendary restaurant in Taiwan! A 72-hour mutton hot pot! Buried under ground for three days heated in a walk in furnace with rice hulls! One of the best meals of my entire life! Make sure to check it out and follow me on Instagram for updates!
– Luke Martin
Well, the food does look good. Gotta admit. Oh, and I Googled it up: Mutton is meat from a sheep that is older than a year, ideally 3 years of age.

Technology/Human Interest: Bringing Solar Energy To A Remote Himalayan Town (Video)
Great point dude made on the ride in. Our natural reaction when we walk into a dark room is to reach for a light switch, but the folks they are going to see have likely never done that. Never even had that capability. But they soon will, thanks to this team of volunteers and their openness to being powered by solar panels.
Volunteers pack sustainable solar energy parts toward the remote Himalayan town of Lingshed.

Learned some math: Profit from slanging tacos > profit from selling weed (wow, plus weed heads probably come through with ‘the munchies’ yo). Serious business here. Watch.

How about that! A Conservative “red” town, in the “red” state of Texas, is walking the renewable energy talk for real! Did the city’s Mayor Dale Ross say that Georgetown was “90% renewable” right now? Like not in talks or planning to be, but currently 90% renewable???

Do You Know Mindfulness Coach George Mumford? Michael Jordan And Kobe Bryant Do (Video)
The best way to score is not to try to score… You form an intention and then you have to allow it to happen.
– George Mumford
Not too far a stretch for two players coached by Phil Jackson to be into meditation. Jackson was known as ‘The Zen Master’ of course. However, this Daily VICE video is going to adjust the spotlight so it shines on the guy that really helped Air and The Heir Apparent to get their minds right, meditation guru George Mumford.
