Nigerian Tribal King Takes Shell Oil To Court (Video)

Lawsuit for millions and millions of dollars. Think that even makes an oil conglomerate blink? Hardly! Real question is… Where is the humanity?! If you got it for the clean-up, when the courts force you, why not spend the money PROTECTING the people?

(Wait. Don’t answer. I think I already know. Sickening…)

A Nigerian tribal king has taken oil giant Shell to court in London. Here’s why.
– Al Jazeera English

Long Live The Chief! Watch him work. Shame on you Shell! Immeasurable amounts of oil spilled. Land made wasteland. Militarization and the killing of Ken Saro-Wiwa. On you (and the Nigerian government)!

The World’s Most Expensive Cheese… Is Made From WHAT???!! (Video)

$500 a pound? How did 2 Chainz not try this as The Most Expensivest cheese? But the $500 tag…not the standout fact about this cheese. It’s what it’s made of: not goat or cow milk. Naaah, son. DONKEY milk!

At the Zasavica Special Nature Reserve in Serbia, Slobodan Simić creates the world’s most expensive cheese with milk from his herd of donkeys. Donkeys only produce a tiny amount of milk, so that—coupled with the fact that Slobodan is the only one with the recipe—means that his cheese goes for around $500 dollars per pound.

So… ASS cheese. Is that’s what’s hot in these streets? When you get your paper way up, you can have donkey cheese on that expensive ass burger. Ha!!

55-Year-Old Joe Thomas Sr. Became The Oldest College Football Player To Play In A D-1 Game (Video)

File this under most memorable football plays… Actually, South Carolina State’s Joe Thomas Sr. had a few of them Saturday. To make history, and put a happy ending to his story, all he needed was one. No spectacular break away plays, but I’ll tell you what he did break: any and all notions of what ‘old’ is supposed to look like.

Used to be the only way to see 55 playing football was on a player’s back. No more, thanks to Joe!

The White House Welcomes The 2016 NBA Champions Cleveland Cavaliers (Video)

Come back from a 3-1 situation to win the NBA Finals… and a trip to the White House. How dope is that?

Please watch footage from the Cavs visit with the U.S. President and First Lady, as well as Vice President Joe Biden. And reeeeally watch as Present Obama daps-and-back-pats the bruhs while offering ‘official’ handshakes to the rest. Just like on Key & Peele. Hahaa!

Respect and honor to the veterans assembled there, and to all who’ve served. Just like First Lady Michelle Obama and the Cavs showed.

Joe Biden And Colin Powell Race Their Cars. Who You Got? (Video)

Well, would you look at that! Joe Biden and Colin Powell have found a way to settle things… on the road with the engine wide open! Who knew General Powell was such a speed demon; that Vice President Biden was such a classic car buff. Jay Leno gets props for pulling this together and pulling it off. Okay, I mean Jay AND the U.S. Secret Service.

(Their track, their rules right? NOT! Gun it, Mr. Vice President. Pedal to the metal!)

Reading Body Language: A Quick Guide (Video)

Maybe this will help folks understand why I tell them, “I need to straighten my glasses so I can see what you are saying.” The rest of your body speaks as much as your mouth does in ways that count.

Personal interactions with others are often draped in nuance. Here are some ways to read the unspoken things people say with their bodies.

…And Of The Son: The Legacy Of David And Jackie Robinson (Mini-Documentary)

David’s story begins by him talking about his going back home to Africa…Tanzania specifically. It’d be an interesting human interest piece if this was just that. But this is a Spike Lee [Lil] Joint. Why the Spike Lee treatment? And why on ESPN? David is activist & baseball legend Jackie Robinson’s son. ESPN’s headline – “Jackie Robinson’s son is a coffee farmer in Tanzania” – rather oversimplifies what this documentary is covering, but it’s a good watch!

Kabaddi World Cup 2016: Iran Vs. USA (Video)

The headline should read: Team USA Gets OWNED At Kabaddi World Cup 2016… But we’ll be back world… We’ll be BACK!

Wow, Kabaddi looks VERY interesting! American sports fans, this could be it! Okay, let’s back up a touch. What you see above is, as the commentator conveys starting around the 9-minute mark, the genesis tenet of a true world sport: “It’s a simple game to understand. Very tough to play.” But watch now, understand a bit of the way in, and understand that this Kabaddi thing is already enjoyed by MILLIONS, already being covered on ESPN3, already being played by teams from nations worldwide, already presenting a World Champion chosen via tournament games… Again, wow! Imagine a sport that has something in it for lovers of football, basketball, soccer…tag…f’n Red Rover… AND ‘Rasslin (yeah, the Greco-Roman stuff but with pro wrestling’s pop appeal)! This Deadspin (respect!) article put it perfectly:

Kabaddi is kind of like schoolyard tackle football, without the football. Or like red rover played by overzealous wrestlers. The PKL version of the game is played indoors on a large, rectangular mat and the teams are broken up into two sides, blockers and raiders. A raider must foray into the opposing half, tag a competitor, and then make it back to their own half without being tackled. The raider must do so with only one breath, repeating the word “kabaddi” so the referee knows they haven’t inhaled. Points can be gathered in a number of ways, but basically it’s just a bunch of big dudes tackling and evading with combinations of brute strength and agility. It’s fast-paced, visceral, intuitive, and a very big deal in India.
Jemayel Khawaja

Uh oh. Will Americans actually watch en masse a game not invented in the homeland? Truthfully, such remains to be seen. But if any sport has a legit chance, it is Kabaddi. Bet on it.

(And if and when Vegas starts laying odds on it. It will truly be IN… you can bet on it!)

Life Flight: Videographer Using Camera Drone Helps FEMA Save Hurricane Matthew Victim From The Flood (Video)

Man, hell yeah! This is what we are supposed to be doing with tech. Helping people, even saving lives. We can be the heroes we have been waiting for. Come to think of it…neither Batman, Superman, nor the X-Men had drone cams back in the day. But now we do.

What’s really ‘super’ though is that @ImSoFIRST (yeah, follow dude NOW) did not have to help. But he did. And what if Craig Williams was one of those grumpy dudes cursing Twiter and social media like demons. No need to even imagine the alternative because his brother Chris is safe!

You see a lot of negative things and you hear a lot of awful stuff, but the reality is there are a lot of good people in this world and if you just ask, they will do the right thing. This is one of those moments when humanity came together.
Chris Williams

Watch and be amazed at what we can do for (not to) each other when we try. Start this Fall weekend with warmth in your heart.

Prodigy Shares And Shows How He Cooks BBQ Salmon (Video)

Verrrry interesting. A recipe demo for the Commissary Kitchen: My Infamous Prison Cookbook that Prodigy is pushing. While marketing execs might call this Merch 101, don’t you still want to try this fish? Plus: Knowledge dropped about his sickle cell disease, and how he adapted his diet while locked up (talked about that situation, too) to help him stay healthy.

First things first: You always wash your hands first!

New York Public Library’s “Book Train” Conveyor System (Video)

Okay. Full disclosure. Kindle can bring you more books faster than you could check them out of the library. Truth. But damn if this is not much, much more geek-chic cool. I mean… It’s a book train! LOOK!

The New York Public Library announced they have completed its conveyor system for requested media. The $2.6 million system uses 24 carts to truck books through the library’s 11 levels to the Rose Reading Room. Here’s how it works, and what it’s like to ride inside one.

The Very Best of the Lasts (Video)

This is fascinating watching. You probably did not know that these crafts, craftspeople, exotic animals and occupations existed. And before long, they won’t anymore. All the more reason to press play and stay for the whole docu-short.

From mermaids to barbers, kings to rhinos — these are some of the very best of the last of their kind.

In The Kitchen: Artists At Work (Video)

Most would agree that folks who master food excel in an art form that we can all appreciate. One that makes us go, “Wow!” Especially the dudes who risk getting slammed with a mallet every second making delicious chewy treats. Watch all this though. A FEAST for the eyes!

Diverse routes, same destination — these craftspeople are killin’ it in the kitchen from every angle. From barbecue in Compton to mochi in Japan, it’s cook hard, eat hard.

College Football Field Transforms Into Tuition-Paying Farm (Video)

Now, I’ll holler at any TV screen showing a college football field being put to good use. Before now, I thought that that was filling the field with high-powered, pounding offense and aggressive defense, with all the scores and collisions that come along with those. Gotta admit though. This…pretty good idea. Greens will grow, just like grass did. If you’re not pushing a sled down that field, dig it up and push a plow up it. Sow and harvest. Address the nearby food dessert (where residents have very limited access to fresh produce) AND fund higher education to boot.

Awesome. Simply awesome.

Danish Travel Agency Promotes Getting Into The Babymaking Business (Video)

Hahaaa! Hey JayForce, you got friends over in Denmark, right? Why the f*ck aren’t they f*cking enough? Tell ’em to get to “work.” They got grandmas’ that need new babies on those knees over there (flashing back to my parents wanting to be grandparents back in the day…badly…shout to my brothers for handling the Jones babymaking biz)!

Denmark is struggling to keep their population at 5.6 million. The biggest cause for the decline: young couples aren’t having babies. One Danish travel agency, Spies Rejser, is urging young couples to go on vacation, where the chances of conceiving are higher.

Bottom line: Denmark dudes, take your lady on a vacay, and make a ‘babay’ (good for business AND pleasure)!

Jaw-Dropping Dwellings (Video)

No need to ask, “Do people REALLY live like that?” Even though the stories around the homes featured are so not-the-norm, you see above that they actually do!

In this reel, we explore just what “there’s no place like home” really means. Especially when that home is, say, an old airplane…

Science: Why Don’t Ants Get Stuck In Traffic? (Video)

More smart programming produced by PBS Digital Studios. Brilliant insights in this vid on what ants have to teach us about building efficient traffic networks. Such simple solutions, but many seem impossible. Because they are? NO.

Because…us!

Just watch, and maybe remember this the next time you’re stuck in that road jam downtown.
