Detroit’s own TBG is all about the music. An expected corollary to that… he’s all about the dopest music makers in history. Like Roy Ayers – most defintely one of Jazz’s – American music’s – all time greats.

His music has touched many souls.
All of the messages in his music promote positivity, love, and peace.

RIP to the homie Phife Dawg. Still grateful to have had the opportunity to build with the brother when he was with us on this side. He left us some jewels and blessings though. Like this…

Hey, Gav, this sh** is CRAZY!!!
There is only one thing wrong with this… NOTHING!
Little Regan is adorable. Skillz lyrical skills are still enviable. And that Gavin Maestro-produced track is undeniable. You might end up with this on loop “All Night”… or at least more than a few times. Dope!
Salaam Remi x Akon – “One Time” (Video)
The greats find each other. And they make great music together most times. We expect that. But that great music is no less special just because it is expected.
Salaam Remi is one of Nas’ go-to beat beasts from way back. And ‘me only are gone tell you this one time’… Mr. “Locked Up” Akon locked this Remi track down!!
Talib Kweli & Ice Cube Chat About Beefs, Big Hits, BIG3 Basketball, And John Witherspoon (Video)
When people go to the movies, they don’t wanna see what they just left.
Talib Kweli welcomes the ol’ West Coast Warlord, Ice Cube. Yeah… same dude that used to get it ‘Gangsta Gangsta’ style… that flipped to full-blown funny and almost family-friendly before we could look both ways. A lot to talk about to be certain.
On the 33rd episode of People’s Party, Talib Kweli and Jasmin Leigh sit down with rapper, actor, producer, director, writer, sports league founder, and all-around legend among legends: Ice Cube. The conversation covers a multitude of subjects and starts at the beginning — with the story of Cube growing up with aspirations of playing pro-football before transitioning into one of the most respected, prolific lyricists of all-time. The trio discusses the origins of Ice Cube classics like “Boyz-n-the-Hood” and “It Was A Good Day,” the booming growth of the BIG3 basketball league, and emcees who had the most impact on Cube coming up and the development of his pen-game.
Later in the episode, Cube is asked if there is such a thing as a good cop, and they discuss police force gang mentality and bullying within the department to escape accountability. Cube also sums up why so much of America loves Trump, how he balances family-friendly entertainment while still maintaining his gangsta-rap persona, and stories surrounding the making of “Janky Promoters,” and the Friday franchise. They also discuss how Cube’s group Westside Connection was formed as a response to some of the East Coast backlash to West Coast rap dominance of the airwaves at the time, and reflect on how he feels about beefs of the past with Common and B-Real of Cypress Hill.

Lady London – “2020 Sway In The Morning Freestyle†(Video)
I’m serial with the checks!

But the BARZ are hella GREASY fam! She looks and speaks so sweetly, but that mouth though… TREACHEROUS! #WhatThemBarsDoTho
Lady London stopped by Sway In The Morning and dropped off some bars!

50 Cent Speaks On Settling Beefs Differently And How #PowerNeverEnds (Video)
One POWERful ending. FOUR spinoffs. And somehow Kanan will be in there somewhere. It’s good to be the executive producer… AND to have a star on The Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

Ah yes. One time for Hip-Hop.
When we post Ruste Juxx, it means we are getting back to the bars! Meaningful bars. To do otherwise… that ain’t in his design… and that is a good thing.

Nipsey Hussle – “Loaded Bases” feat. CeeLo Green (Prod. By Jake One)
Still listening to that “Victory Lap” from Nipsey Hussle in 2020? Of course you are… But how do you feel about that work he and CeeLo Green put in on that Jake One beat for “Loaded Bases” though?
(No worries if you haven’t really dug into that plate yet. I keep “Racks In The Middle” and the title track on loop-to-loop myself. Might have to add this one to the rotation. Nip’s last one was a great one #Blessings #RIPNIP
There aren’t many Hip-Hop projects that are released these days where it’s impossible to skip a track.
Two years ago today, Nipsey Hussle did just that when he dropped his classic debut album titled “Victory Lap.” The project debuted at number four on the Billboard 200, with 53,000 units sold.
On January 8, 2020, the album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
“Victory Lap” struck a chord from hood to hood with songs like “Rap N!ggas,” “Last Time That I Checc’d,” “Dedication,” “Double Up” and “Real Big.”
Neighborhood Nip definitely delivered with this one. Rest in Peace Neighborhood Nip. The Marathon Continues.
“Loaded Bases” featuring CeeLo Green and produced by Jake One is my personal favorite off of the album … what is yours?

Jadakiss – “Kisses To The Sky” feat. Rick Ross x Emanny (Director’s Cut) [Video]
You playing the game then you better be winning.
Banging!
But you probably (1) already heard and saw this or (2) heard about it and saw the lineup… and came to the same conclusion. So we just gonna keep the “Me” movie going for this “Kisses To The Sky” visual? I’m good with that. Also very good with what Rozay and Emanny brought to the Jada jumpoff here.
