Moses Sankofa – “Best Freestyle” (2019) [Video]
Now throw your hands in the air… and watch a brave emcee hop on one of the dopest Hip-Hop beats and take it there!! Spiritual with the lyricals. Dope work, Moses!

RJ Payne – “The Ghost Of Big L” (Hosted By Kid Capri) [Prod. By Pa. Dre] (Mixtape)
Score for RJ Payne! Of all the themes & centerpieces for a Hip-Hop mixtape… Big L… YES! Lots of folks checking in on the recording of this (stream the whole thing for FREE above). Worth checking for “The Ghost Of Big L” now!

Cassidy – “Selfish” (Prod. By Cassidy)
Now most everyone knows I love a good hashtag as much as (read: more than) anyone else. But #BarsAndBeats as a hash on the YouTube vid for this… unneeded overkill. It’s Cass Larsiny. Dope bars on dope beats is on his calling card!
(Oh. It’s the title of the forthcoming LP. Got it! And Cassidy self-produced this jawn?? NICE!)
Philadelphia heavy spitter Cassidy is gearing up to release a new project titled “Bars And Beats.” Here’s a track off of it called “Selfish,” produced by Mr. Chicken himself. Follow Cassidy @cassidy_larsiny.

Papoose – “Nasty Time” feat. Bianca Bonnie
Too sexy for your own good. That’s a shame.
As straightforward as it gets. Imagine Pap playing this for his wifey Remy Ma when they got home after those charges were dropped (more on that here). Probably “Nasty Time” for them shortly after this banger ended (‘banger’… heh heh heh).

RIP Juice WRLD
Got wind of this from Sam Peezy aka Tony Factory who hit my inbox. So very sad. Details on the death of Juice WRLD (born Jarad A. Higgins, of Homewood, Illinois, USA) in The New York Times write-up were scarce, but a really good article nonetheless.
Seems like he was just getting into the swing and doing his thing (like here with Funk Flex). But now gone.
RIP young brother.

Shaheed Tawheed – “Wherever You At” (Prod. By March The 5ifth) [Video]
How funky… How Hip-Hop… can a track get? Well, here’s someone we have not heard from for a long while with a worthwhile ‘answer’ for all that: Shaheed Tawheed. His “Wherever You At” jawn (produced by March The 5ifth) samples and loops “I Can’t Wait” (by Nu Shooz, so funky). Plus Shaheed put the “Doo Dat Doo Dat Doo Doo Dat Dat Dat” from “Award Tour” (by A Tribe Called Quest, so Hip-Hop)!

Flatbush ZOMBiES – “Monica” feat. Tech N9ne (Prod. By The Architect) [Video]
Woke up feeling blessed, ’cause I’m me, my n!gga.
Okay, THIS is that banger!
I will confess to not really, really getting what was the buzz about the FZ until now. Them and N9ne Nino linking up is rap genius – lyrical and cadence-wise. And shout to The Architect on production!

Sean Price x Lil Fame – “Center Stage”
God put me here for a reason!
Hard rhyming feature from the late great Sean Price. Yes, please, and thank you! Lil Fame, if your reason for being here is to bring the Hip-Hop heat like this, I am grateful for the blessing! Y’all grab that “Price Of Fame” pre-order EARLY as you please (linked below).

Calboy – “Tim Westwood Freestyle†(Video)
Another Chi-towner checking in a freestyle for Westwood TV. We posted that Common freestyle a while back. Now, feast your eyes and ears as Calboy EATS on the track. That cadence he raps with had me thinking of a young and hungry Meek Mill. Good stuff!

Fabolous – “Too Late” feat. Jeremih
I just hope this encourages people who love each other to make it right.
Wowwww… Jeremih’s chanting at the start is like another instrument contributing to the track. Oh, but he sings out the hook, too. No worries at all!
Great get for the “Summertime Shootout 3” project. Fab’s BARZ on this smooth track though… HAAARD!!

4-IZE – “Verse 161†(Prod. By Positive K) [Video]
Flow freaky, like Billy Dee, doing all kinda stuff…
Baaahahaaa! That fool 4-IZE stay witty with the wordplay in whip when he does these freestyles, don’t he? That’s rhetorical. You already know he does. That’s why we keep posting what he puts out. Dope!

NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert Series Presents: Freddie Gibbs & Madlib (Video)
I like this whiskey in my cup. We not givin’ a f**k…
‘Skinny Suge’ and Madlib make their way to the studio for a Tiny Desk concert. And everything is right with the world. Actually, it went a little left, starting jazzy then lyrics went HARD. But that makes things even ‘righter’ (haha)!
This Freddie Gibbs and Madlib Tiny Desk performance was a year in the making, largely because Madlib insisted on playing with El Michels Affair, a vintage funk and soul band based out of New York. But it was worth the wait. When pianist Marco Benevento opened with a delicate, almost jazzy run, it created the perfect opening — and juxtaposition — for hard-hitting emcee, Gibbs to jump in and ride the hell out of that beat.

4-IZE – “Verse 160†(Prod. By Floyd The Locsmif) [Video]
With the sh!tz from the tippy-top of this freestyle clip. Let’s just say Turkey Day might not mean the same thing to 4-IZE as it does to ‘the majority’ (of the MAGA movement, at least).
Regardless, homie still snapped in his latest car rap. Check it out!
KRS-ONE Hits The Studio For His Weekend Project (Day 4) [Video]
Mannn, this jawn here… FIRE… Check that: It’s a “Miracle” fam! If you have not checked out that “Street Light” that The Teacha just put out yet, do that ASAP! This clip ought to be enough to convince you.

Fabolous – “Time” feat. Roddy Ricch
When you give someone or something your “Time,” you give them a piece of your LIFE! Be it a female, jail cell, or whatever the hell. That is deep, Fabolous, and that is facts.
Oh, and this track with Roddy riding on it, is a banger. Also FACTS!

Locksmith Speaks And Spits For Hip-Hop Culture… And Fellow Guests Fat Joe & Dre Are Amazed (Video)
Your favorite rapper is full of sh!t.
Quiet as kept, Fat Joe doesn’t give out this level of insanity props to just any emcee. I’m thinking… the last time he really gave out kudos like he was flabbergasted… was when he talked about Big Pun. Rarefied air. Props well deserved for Locksmith. Dude is a BEAST with the BAR talk!
But don’t take my word. Watch and listen to the man spit the FIRE from above.
We’re not new to Locksmith’s bars — but he came by to drop off a fire freestyle with Dre and Fat Joe in the room. Watch as Joe adds his seal of approval by calling him “the best.”

Drink Champs: Irv Gotti (Video)
It’s Murrrrderrrr… Actually, nah. It’s The HNIC of The INC aka Irv Gotti. Saying what he wanna say (under cover of ‘the influence’… blame it on the a-a-alcohol… HA!) to the Drink Champs!
On today’s episode Drink Champs chop it up with legendary record executive, C.E.O. and co-founder of Murder Inc., Irv Gotti. A fellow DC Alumni, we welcome back Irv Gotti as he shares classic Hip-Hop stories, of his personal Hip-Hop journey.
Irv takes us on a ride through hip-hop history as he shares stories of working with a young JAY Z, being introduced to the Ruff Ryders, working with Ja Rule and forming the group Murder Inc., a super group composed of Ja Rule, DMX & JAY Z.
As Irv expresses his displeasure, with the disconnection in Hip-Hop between the young and older generation, Irv Gotti and The Champs discuss establishing a Hip-Hop union. And Irv shares the story of how a Hip-Hop union was almost created between J. Prince, Suge Knight and himself.
An episode filled with lots of Hip-Hop history and gems from an icon in the game, Irv Gotti also shares his vision behind his hit television show “Tales†and much more!
– REVOLT TV
Oh. And bet money, real money out of your real pockets, that you will NOT regret hanging in there through the loud talk to get to Irv’s real talk about Ashanti (about an hour-and-a-half in). Serious.
