I’ve been telling people that Sean Paul is still very valid in the Dancehall community just like Shaggy and Sean Kingston. No matter how much the online media promote riddims and passa passa about the other leading artists, there are just a few that ‘ACTUALLY DO THINGS‘ properly.
Check out the world premiere of Sean Paul’s new music video for “Got 2 Luv U”, which features the beautiful miss Alexis Jordan! The video was shot at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, and was directed by Ben Mor. The Song was also featured on the ‘Face Off Fridays’ monthly promo cd passed out to fans of the monthly event. This weekend in Atlanta we got a chance to pass thru the listening Party for Laza Morgan, a mixtape project hosted by DJ Kash. It was good to see various promoters, DJ Baby Yu, King AP, John Wayne, DJ Juggla, Jah Lion, DJ Shane and other selectors there to show unity in Caribbean Music Community.
Also in attendance was V103 radio host Osei the Dark Secret, Morgan Heritage extended family, Denroy Morgan, Gramps Morgan and several other sibblings/family.

Mavado Signs Deal with DJ Khaled’s ‘We The Best Music Group’ (Video)

International reggae/dancehall artist Mavado inked a deal to join DJ Khaled’s We The Best Music Group & didn’t waste any time getting in the studio to record. By the looks of the video above they had a good time in the studio knocking out this new joint “Emergency” featuring Ace Hood & produced by the Canadian soundbwoy Boi-1da. Today we talk to the artist Wayne Marshall about his current releases and even his dab into the producer/director side with the release of the Matrimony Riddim. We hear about him working with Sean Paul, Stephen & Damian Marley, and how younger producers also help him to promote more diversity as a vocalist. Some highlights include flipping tracks with Laza Morgan, Verse Simmonds and even Estelle. We touch quickly on how he relaxes, work ethics alongside his talented wife Tami and the background of the hit song ‘Swaggin’, produced by Washroom Ent featuring Future Fambo and Tifa.

Ne-Yo feat. Mavado – I Know You Want Me (Remix) [Video]

Ne-Yo is making good on his attempts to further reggae music around the world with his new Compound Island label dedicated to breaking Jamaican artists. One of the first songs he recorded was the “I Know You Want Me” remix with Mavado. Although Mavado isn’t exactly a new artist in anyway, their collaboration is a quality start in setting the tone for the new movement. I first heard this remix about a month ago, but I didn’t expect a video for this joint to drop. I’m not mad at it either. Ya Dun Know!

I gotta give credit to Jimmy Fallon because he had Ziggy Marley perform ‘Forward To Love’ on his show a couple times so know i get a chance to interview him. One question we’re gonna ask is him is ‘Why DEA is Against Legalizing Smoked Marijuana? (YUPP)
Following the interview with his brother Stephen Marley, we now catch up with another son of the legendary Robert ‘Bob’ Marley on the Sunsplash Mix Show. This radio show dedicated to introduce the Atlanta audience to new Reggae and Dancehall music plus a steady stream of artist interviews.
We’re gonna ask him about his new album ‘Wild and Free’ and tour dates across the globe including Japan, USA and Europe when he bumped into Chuck D original Public Enemy in switzerland at the open air hip hop festival.

Mavado – “I Know You Want Me” Remix feat. Ne-Yo

Mavado links up with Ne-Yo for the the remix to ‘I Know You Want Me’ which sounds pretty dope. Found myself replaying it several times after the first listen. Apparently Ne-Yo is wasting no time in working with many established talented artists like Mavado in the reggae/dancehall community, but he’s also getting his new reggae label Compound Island off the ground & into a great start in discovering new Jamaican artists. I’ve said it before that Ne-Yo’s decision to assist in discovering & nurturing great Jamaican talent is a smart move because reggae music really is a global music genre.

Kardinal Offishall – Ol Time Killing Part 2 (Anywhere)

Ran across this banger that Kardinal posted on his twitter page & I had to keep rewinding it back! Pulllllllll Uuuuppppppppp! My favorite song from the Toronto Canada representer Kardinall Offishall hands downs down is the original ‘Ol Time Killing’, but this part 2 version produced by himself & Dready is a nice follow up to arguably his biggest tune over the years! The song is slated to appear on Kardy’s upcoming album Mr. International that’s due to drop this year. Morrrr Fiyahhhhhh!!!

We chat with Stephen Marley as he travels on the road promoting his album, ‘Revelation Part 1: The Root Of Life’. We touch on his lyrical content and his recording process on the current project compared to his father Robert Nesta Marley who was known to record all in one-take. Stephen explains his growth as a stage entertainer and talks about his social commitment off-stage to help others humans, as just Stephen. Nigerian Rapper Wale is featured on the album and Stephen defends his subject matter on this album deflecting any comments from the haters in the media, ‘…haters, dat don’t work wid ini’.
