Chicago Bears Cut WR Sam Hurd After Federal Drug Charges (Video)
It was inevitable that the Chicago Bears were going to cut wide receiver Sam Hurd following the federal investigation into his alleged attempts to distribute cocaine & marijuana in the Chicago area. If the charges are true then he’s apparently fooled many people around him about his true character according to this ABC News segment.
Daisha Hunter Signs on as a New Host of Future Sound TV Japan (Video)
Shout out to my homegirl Daisha Hunter aka DJ Dai-Light who is one of the new hosts of Future Sound TV out in Japan which is a weekly entertainment show that broadcasts on the ‘Far East Coast.’ Although the show doesn’t broadcast here in the states, you can check different segments from their website. Future Sound TV covers everything from music, exotic cars, street motorcycle culture, nightlife, DJ culture, women, fashion & just about everything else out there in the land of the rising sun. In this episode Daisha broadcasts from the set of former Rawkus records artist & Japanese emcee Kojoe’s & Ish-One’s music video shoot for “4 All We Know” that looks like it’s gonna be something outta the movie Fast & Furious. Daisha is a key person to know when it comes to the the Japanese music scene & is also a great bridge for between the U.S. & Japanese music scenes. DJ Dai-Light is celebrating a big party with a number of special guests out there in Japan on January 14th so I might fly out there & check it out. It’s a 14 hour flight to Japan so put that emphasis on “Might”….May have to just send her a card. hahaaa!
Why Men and Women Can’t Be Friends (Video)
One of my homies put me onto this video of a couple of young college filmmakers who went out to prove a point that men & women can’t just be friends. It’s funny to see how the women in the video didn’t understand that most of their male friends would like to have some sort of physical relationship with them if given the opportunity. It is what it is…
The Roots of The Roots: Questlove & Black Thought Use DNA to Trace Their African Heritage (Video)
My brother & I were just speaking about tracing our family history as we’re two of the eldest able bodied & living members of our family that are still around. Looking at this video of Questlove & Black Thought getting their DNA traced back to the actual tribes they are from in Africa is all too inspiring. I guess we can stop procrastinating & check via AfricanAncestry.com
Samsung To Launch Thin Flexible Tablets & Cellphones (Video)
While many of us are excited about our iphones & ipads, Korean electronics maker Samsung has taken the tablets & cellphones to new levels with the design of products that are OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) based. I remember when I first went to Japan & saw they already had camera & video phones years ahead of what he had here in the states. Samsung makes some great television products, but damn once this hits the states this will further change the game. As a self confessed gadget junkie I’m very impressed. The rumors are these products are poised to roll out in Asia early 2012. Check out more video under the hood….

Steve Jobs Vision Of The World (Video)
I’ve heard some people tell me before when am I gonna grow up & get married & all this other sort of crap. I’ve been fortunate to have set foot on every continent, but I still haven’t seen most of the world. I have several more to goals to accomplish. I don’t believe I fit into anyone else’s particular box. This short 48 second clip of Steve Jobs is just what I needed today…. Pay attention. I don’t believe they’ll be another 48 seconds of commentary more inspiring.
Prince: A Purple Reign (Documentary)
“Many have rated Prince Rogers Nelson, the diminutive musician, as the greatest of his generation. Rhodri Huw’s well-structured film looks at the career of the boy from Minneapolis and how he came to revolutionize black music in the 1980s and beyond. Via albums such as 1999 and Purple Rain through to his explicit lyrics and spectacular stage shows, Prince has rarely lacked ambition or imagination. Huw’s film captures the highs and lows of Prince’s career and also his battle for control of his music.”
Frank Ocean: GQ’s Rookie Of The Year (Video)
If I had to give an award for Rookie of The Year it would most likely be handed to singer, songwriter, & producer Frank Ocean. His “Nostalgia/Ultra” album has had a high volume of repeat plays with me since it dropped. Even on my flight back from Cali last weekend I was still bumping it in my headphones at one point. Frank Ocean has a very big future & he appears focused. GQ Magazine recognizes that as well. Peep the interview…

Former Secretary Of State Condoleeza Rice Says America Will Never Be ‘Race Blind’ (Video)
Often times when I hear someone say we live in a colorblind society, a post-racial America, & that they don’t see color I find those comments to be ridiculous. It’s just not true. Of course many of us are Asian, Black, White, Indian, Native American, & come from a variety of ethnicities that you just cannot ignore. It’s a part of who we are, but not all that we are as “people”. It’s this country’s diversity that has made it strong. Condoleeza Rice appeared on a Thanksgiving edition of “Face The Nation” & was asked her opinion of the state of race relations in America & also says that if she had stayed in Birmingham Alabama where she grew up she would most likely have become a schoolteacher.

Eminem x Yelawolf Cover Vibe Magazine’s Year End Issue
Eminem & Yelawolf are the cover subjects of Vibe Magazine’s year end issue that hits newsstands December 6th. A second cover for the magazine will feature T.I. later. This is great timing for Yelawolf as he’s about to drop his debut album “Radioactive” on Eminem’s Shady 2.0. I’m not surprised because unlike many other rappers in the game who supposedly sign artists, Eminem has historically done a great job in helping his artists succeed. In the Vibe Magazine article they speak on everything from the issue of race, rappers using the N-word, & how they both dealt with drug addition in their lives. Check out excerpts from the interview below…
