The World’s First Food Delivery Robot Is Now Making Deliveries In Washington DC (Video)
Hey people. This is happening. They got ‘Wall E’ from the movies (well, it looks like it…anyway) delivering your food now. Get your hoagies & chips, you gyros or whatever brought to you by a robot. Convenience encapsulated in mobile tech form. Rolling your order right on over at a [relatively] speedy 4 miles per hour, programmed not to run into stuff and to arrive safe & secure (like “they’ll email you a code to unlock the delivery case when it arrives” secure) for you to enjoy.
Starship Technology (maker of the deilivery bot) has partnered with Postmates (online ordering company) to make this all happen. Starship says this whole thing is still in its infancy, but this baby is a live baby, baby.
The news story is embedded above. Footage of the robot at work appears after the jump.
NBA & Chicago Bulls Star Jimmy Butler Goes ‘Sneaker Shopping’ (Video)
C’mon son! You gotta know by know that sneakers is religion! For sneakerheads, it is not just ‘shopping’… it is spiritual, ritual, and to be done right!
Jimmy Butler goes Sneaker Shopping with Joe La Puma at Saint Alfred in Chicago and talks wearing Jordans to the White House, walking away from his Adidas deal, and playing basketball with Michael Jordan.
Dude, this dude wore sneakers to the White House to chit-chat with President Obama (and bless him with a pair).
Children As Young As Four Work 12 Hours A Day To Make Your Smartphone Work (Video)
Damn. And while the States stay distracted by whatever the f*ck the President is up to or not, and whether we care if Nicki will clap back at Remy or not, THIS deplorable despicable sh!t is going on. Watch above and read on… and prepare to get MAD!
‘Slavery is alive and well’ is no metaphor, people. We’re talking about miners in The Congo who are worked near death daily in unsafe conditions for nowhere-near-livable pay. And many of the miners are MINORS, some as young as four f*cking years old! All this to dig up as much cobalt as the developed world can buy to make smartphone and electric car batteries.
Regulate the mines? Yeah, right. Read more about the tragedy and challenges of this situation by following the link below.

Apis Cor Just 3D-Printed Its First Residential Home (Video)
“3D printer… I’ve heard of it… It can make some little stuff…”
“A house? In 24 hours? No way!”
Yep. Just some regular Russians’ comments on the modern construction miracle that Apis Cor has just pulled off. That company sought to partner with PIK Companies Group, Samsung Electronics, TechnoNICOL Corporation, Bitex Reibeputz Company and Fabrika Okon to make the tech and make the house happen. Once all was in place, in just a day’s time, with a huge on-site 3D printer, in Russia, a 400-square-foot home was built, at a cost of slightly over $10,000.
Watch, and be amazed. Crazy. Crazy COOL!
We’re Seeing More And Bigger Black Movies, But Are African Americans Making Any Real Gains In Hollywood? (Video)
Hmmm… did anyone see the Steve Harvey-esque goof on the announcement for “Moonlight” winning The Oscar? This ‘New Hollywood Diversity Report’ segment on Roland Martin’s show might put that mistake in a different light. It’s kind of like there’s less hate for Black people in Hollywood… Now they just aren’t really paying us much mind. No shots, no hate, just saying.
The fourth annual Hollywood Diversity Report is out, and while there has been some improvement, Black people are still trailing behind their white counterparts in many ways.

Elon Musk Is An Economic Advisor To President Trump? He’s Got Some Explaining (And Tweeting) To Do! [Video]
Well… real-life Tony Stark could very well have a point. We will see in short order if The Donald listens or says, “Elon Musk, you’re fired.”
Last December, Elon Musk joined Trump’s economic advisory council. But in light of all that has happened within Trump’s first two weeks in office, Musk’s new position has come under fire by some of Musk’s fans. So, on Super Bowl Sunday Musk took to Twitter to answer followers’ questions about everything from Tesla to Trump.

Gary Vaynerchuk Talks Entrepreneurship, His Passion For Start-Ups And More (Video)
The man Gary Vee! On with The Breakfast Club… Kinda threw Bernie under the bus at the beginning, but we don’t have to agree on everything. You know, because America.
Wise words well spoken by Charlemagne’s favorite ‘corporate thug motivator’ on the effect of the recent election on entrepreneurship, the lonely life of entrepreneurs, realistic ideas to make money, his dream to buy the NY Jets, his admiration of rappers’ grind and more.

Apple Campus 2: Looking Good, Even Under Construction (Video)
This is craaaaazy! Not like President Trump crazy… yeah, that is happening… but so is this. Major massive cool. Apple HQ ‘Campus 2’ is going up. Peep the aerial drone shoot for proof: Outdoor lighting (check), solar panels (check), fitness center (check), included greenspace (check), parking garages and all that (check check)!

Event: Coalition DJs 9th Anniversary Celebration & Panel Discussion (Video)
Wow.
I would say, if you you were not at Atlanta’s Coalition DJs Anniversary Celebration and Longevity Panel event, you missed something special.
I would say that.
I might even go so far as to say that you took a major L this past Monday if you missed it. However, lucky for you, you know me. Even luckier for me, I am truly blessed to know, and be able to call in a favor from, Gerald Olivari of Black Vibes! Yep, G.O. went to the event and grabbed a lot of crucial footage: wisdom from the hearts and mouths of music industry insiders and grinders who have been at it for decades (some over 30 years). So, give thanks, because you are lucky not to have missed out out dopeness like this!
Start with Part 1 above, and absorb the knowledge that flowed with real (and raw, uncensored) conversation from the panelists assembled. On hand was DJ Toomp, KP, and more who have made hits (and money) with the likes of Dallas Austin, TI, Yelawolf, OutKast, Diddy… whew! And the gems they dropped, like:
Understand business… not just ‘the business’… first. This lesson even applies when you are cutting grass for a living: If you want to get paid, for real, DO THE WORK, for real!
If you want to excel as those you admire do, get around them and work like they do.
If you find yourself blessed with the opportunity to be around greatness, shut up and listen!
INFORMATION… that is a key to LONGEVITY.
Relationships go a LONG way!
Wise words well spoken…. applicable to music making AND to life in general! And that was just in the first half of the first part (above). You can keep going and growing with Part 2 after the jump. Got some Red Carpet pics for y’all, too. Shout out to Iman Lexington and public relations guru Amy Hanks (follow @AmyHanksPR) for putting us on to this opportunity as well. Just as you will learn from watching, real DJs and folks like Gerald (with his Black Vibes platform), I.Lex (with her connections and @ILexProject music & media consultancy), and my bro JayForce here just REALLY want artists they encounter to be good – for the culture and for themselves. So, watch this FREEbie intently; especially you artists and managers out there. Keep perfecting your craft and bettering your businesses.
This should help. Good luck!

The Birth of Saké (Documentary)
Incredible! This documentary is about a tradition, an art, craftsmanship, a lifestyle, a family business, a journey of self-discovery and appreciation and so much more brought to us by Japanese-American documentarian Erik Shirai. Turns out that Saké is waaaay more than fancy rice wine. The story’s telling – in “The Birth of Saké” – does involve a lot of cups of it though. The best!
Check out the trailer above. Catch it on Netflix. More on the documentary at NBC News online.
ESPN’s 30 For 30: This Was The XFL (Trailer)
This trailer is intriguing. Check it out.
ESPN, the world’s sports leader, is going to do a documentary on the XFL, the failed football league borne of and bearing more than a slight resemblance to Vince McMahon’s leading sports entertainment franchise, World Wrestling Entertainment. Any televised sport has to be entertaining enough to bring eyeballs and ad revenue, right? So maybe Vince thought he could put out an entertaining football program with no sweat. Whatever the motivations and machinations behind the result and resulting demise, we should learn something watching this 30 For 30.
(Speaking of learning something… Do you know what XFL stood for? Answer: It was NOT Xtreme Football League! It was not an acronym at all. Learned something already, huh?)
Business/Technology: Amazon ‘Just Walk Out’ Shopping (Video)
We stay on the trends that matter to us and, in so doing, we watch history being made. Case in point: Check out the in-store mapping (IndoorAtlas) article we posted on here a few years back. And wait for it…
Told you so! WHAT?!! Not only is Amazon coming out with a store that can track you, you likely desires, and product selection decision (indecision) choices… but you don’t even have to wait in line or do the computerized check-out. You ‘Just Walk Out’ maaaan. Amazon knows who you are, what you finally decide to buy; and charges you for the total when you walk out the store!
And this is not still ‘conceptual’ either. AmazonGo store #1 is coming to Seattle (Washington, USA) early 2017.

Nigerian Tribal King Takes Shell Oil To Court (Video)
Lawsuit for millions and millions of dollars. Think that even makes an oil conglomerate blink? Hardly! Real question is… Where is the humanity?! If you got it for the clean-up, when the courts force you, why not spend the money PROTECTING the people?
(Wait. Don’t answer. I think I already know. Sickening…)
A Nigerian tribal king has taken oil giant Shell to court in London. Here’s why.
– Al Jazeera English
Long Live The Chief! Watch him work. Shame on you Shell! Immeasurable amounts of oil spilled. Land made wasteland. Militarization and the killing of Ken Saro-Wiwa. On you (and the Nigerian government)!

Think Baseball Games Are Too Long? So Does MLB (Video)
Baseball. If you’re a fan, you love it; including all its imperfections… the duration of the game, the pace, the lack of action, etc. But those things will have to be fixed to attract new fans; fans that are not currently ‘into’ the sport. Major League Baseball (MLB) knows. Vox knows. And now there’s a video to let us know. All that’s left is to right the ship or write the sport off as America’s Pastime.
MLB games are now longer than epic movies, but it wasn’t always that way.

NASA: Futuristic Aircraft Design (Video)
Airlines are going so far nowadays as to ask passengers to go ‘potty’ before takeoff to make the plane lighter overall. Every little bit counts. Ha!
Seriously. Lighter… as well as more powerful & efficient, more resilient, less pollutant-producing… all goals for airlines. Such are also hallmarks of futuristic air transportation tech. So you gotta know NASA is all over it. Matter of fact, it is likely that research-heavy NASA is leading in many ways. Watch this documentary on how.
…And Of The Son: The Legacy Of David And Jackie Robinson (Mini-Documentary)
David’s story begins by him talking about his going back home to Africa…Tanzania specifically. It’d be an interesting human interest piece if this was just that. But this is a Spike Lee [Lil] Joint. Why the Spike Lee treatment? And why on ESPN? David is activist & baseball legend Jackie Robinson’s son. ESPN’s headline – “Jackie Robinson’s son is a coffee farmer in Tanzania” – rather oversimplifies what this documentary is covering, but it’s a good watch!
