Kid Cudi – “Confused”
I hate the drugs, but I love the numb…
– Kid Cudi
Yep, that’s the vibe alright.
We’d call Cudi alternative Hip-Hop; but on this time he seems to lean a lot harder on the alternative side of the box. Rumor ’round the web is that an album is in the works. Check out this “Confused” in the embedded stream above right now though.
Major Lazer – “Lost” feat. MØ (Frank Ocean Cover)
Major Lazer doing the redo of the thing that Frank Ocean do…did…you get it. That is, you will when you play this “Lost” remix (featuring MØ) that Major Lazer put up on SoundCloud. And ohhhh, FREE download, too!
Alternative/R&B: Major Myjah – “Trouble”
Very soothing. Playing this let your mind, heart and soul go on that needed trek away from here…soaring. Maybe Major Myjah let “Trouble” go… to let you let your troubles go. For a little while. Sounds good.
Majid Jordan – “[|]” (Mixtape)
Not sure if the “[|]” mixtape title on Soundcloud was Majid Jordan being deep or forgetful. Well, for now, forget about it. Whatever it was meant to be called, rename that ish to ‘The Dope Eclectic Mix’…because it is what it is!

The Internet Rehearses For A Set (Video)
Yes! We’ve always supported The Internet. If you’ve been rocking with them all along, too, you are invited to chill with the band at a low key rehearsal.
You know what? Even if you are new to this… come on. Click the video above and chiiiillll. In fact, why not stream The Internet’s LP “Ego Death” below (the link above the stream below will let you buy a download if you like).
Toro Y Moi – “Lilly” (Video)
Toro Y Moi with visuals for “Lilly” off the album “What For?” (out on iTunes now).

Tame Impala – “Disciples”
Tame Impala with “Disciples” – released from their forthcoming album “Currents,” in response to a fan’s request. Pretty cool when you think about it, right? Enjoy.
Mick Jenkins – “Alchemy” (Prod. By Lee Bannon)
Don’t know much about Mick Jenkins, but I love the production on this particular song. It’s cool, but I wish I also had the instrumental to vibe out with it as well. The production is some late night cruise music.
R&B/Alternative: SBTRKT – “Relics” feat. Tev’n
UK’s SBTRKT (aka Aaron Jerome) has some progressive R&B for heads over here in the States. It’s “Relics†(featuring Tev’n). Truthfully, checking the Interwebs for understanding of SBTRKT … well, see if y’all can make sense of it at www.SBTRKT.com. The music is kinda fly though.
Kid Cudi – ‘love.’
I’m a fan of Kid Cudi’s music but I need him to deliver like he did on his first two ‘Man On The Moon’ albums. With this new single ‘love’ I believe the Cleveland Cudder is back on the right track of what I believe his fans truly expect from him. It’s that ‘Hip Hop Jimi Hendrix-type of feel’ & sound that only he do so well. Supposedly this new single will be featured on his upcoming album ‘Man On The Moon 3’.
“Something I made during the SF sessions. produced by me, keys by Dot. Sample is from one of my favorite Ratatat jams “Sunblocks”. And love to Evan and Mike for allowing me to release it.. For you. Hope it brings you some peace if you have a lonely heart out there. byeeeee 🙂 “– Kid Cudi
Prodigy x Toro Y Moi – “Keep It Toro” (Cookin Soul Remix)
I couldn’t wait to play this joint on my radio show after I first heard it. Production duo ‘Cookin Soul’ does it again with this very ill remix of Prodigy’s classic Alchemist produced banger ‘Keep it Thoro’, but they flip it by melding the sounds from the Toro Y Moi joint ‘Day One’ off of his ‘Anything In Return’ album that dropped two year ago. This particular musical mashup is just toooooo dope. Y’all need to go on ahead & hit that download icon while you still can….
Kanye West feat. Paul McCartney – “Only One” (Video)
Kanye West is the greatest hip hop artist of this generation & he consistently proves it. A keen attention to detail, socially relevant commentary within his music, an a willingness to take risks. Check out this latest video called ‘Only One’ featuring Sir Paul McCartney which is dedicated to Kanye’s beautiful daughter ‘Nori’. I don’t usually get caught up into celebrity babies & crap like that, but Kanye & Kim Kardashian most definitely have the cutest kid amongst new celebrity parents. As a fan of Kanye West the artist, I’m definitely looking forward to what he hits us with next.
Daniel Kish Helps The Blind To See… With Sound (Video)
Wow! Dude is like a real-life Daredevil – “seeing” yet blind – with the use of sonar. Daniel Kish discusses and demonstrates flash sonar used to “see†the world around him. Incredible!
Yasiin Bey Enjoys Hypnotic Melodies In Morocco (Video)
Yasiin Bey chills in a restaurant halfway ’round the world; bobbing heads with natives and appreciative travelers to Gnawa jams. Originally introduced to Morocco by Sub-Saharan slaves sounding off and singing their aches away, this is definitely a music form under-appreciated by Westerners. But if you are going to do music for the world, you gots to be all in it and around it. Respect to Yasiin. Best believe the brother is taking in the entertainment and the influences. It’s what artists do. Watch.
Alternative/Soul: Willow Smith – “9” feat. SZA
Well, well. Willow isn’t whipping her hair on this one. This is grown folks music. Quietly steering for calmer musical depths, Willow has SZA joining her on a… dare we say… much more sensual-sounding track. Definitely more grown up. Worth a listen. This is “9.” Get Will & Jada Smith’s baby girl’s current EP entitled “III.”
Georgia Anne Muldrow – “CIAO”
On SomeOthaShip… You can get this Georgia Anne Muldrow single – “CIAO” – and the whole album “oLIGARCHY sUCKS!” We linked ’em for you. But wait though. You can stream the “CIAO” single right here (below) to see if you feel what you hear. Good laid back alternative to the run-of-the-mill.
R&B/Alternative: Coultrain – “Kiss Of Deathâ€
Off the “Side Effex Of Make-Believe; divided for love’s sake” EP from Coultrain, this is “Kiss Of Death.” Don’t sleep. It’s a bit of an unusual take on R&B, but give it a good listen. Words by Aaron M. Frison. Music composed by Stoney Rock. Backing vocals by Dharma Jean. With a title like “Kiss Of Death,” of course the St. Louis crooner is singing pain – about a woman.
