Big Grams – “Fell In the Sun” (Video)
Big Grams been ‘doing it like they doing it for TV’ (a la Puff Daddy), but when will the bonafide music video for “Fell In The Sun” be out?

Oh. There it is! #StankYouVeryMuch @BigBoi (for this share and for you and Phantogram doing work like this for the Big Grams project).

Alternative: Coldplay – “Adventure Of A Lifetime”
“Adventure Of A Lifetime” is the first single off Coldplay’s upcoming new album, “A Head Full Of Dreams” (due out December 4, 2015). Download the song and pre-order the album below.
Alternative/R&B: A.Chal – “Vibe W/U” (Prod. By 11LIT3S)
Niiiice. Some mellow bop for you to vibe to. As the song suggests though, you ought to get someone you can play with like grown folks play. Sultry dance track. Get close and tell her, I’m just trying to “Vibe With You” baby.
Kanye West – “Say You Will” feat. Caroline Shaw
A reinterpretation of “Say You Will†(featuring Caroline Shaw) off Kanye West’s “808s & Heartbreaks” project by the man himself.
The Other Guys – “Time Cards” (Instrumental)
Beat truly sounding like a factory line grind. Now that’s some work! Check out The Other Guys’ instrumental “Time Cards” and take some time off the clock. Punch out and enjoy this “After The 9 To 5” single.
After producing projects this past year for Substantial and Von Pea (of Tanya Morgan), DMV production duo The Other Guys are back with an album of their own. Following up last year’s Seeds of Ambition [which we posted on here], Joe and Isaiah present their new instrumental album, After The 9 To 5.
The Internet – “Get Away” (Video)
Haaaa! Syd’s gonna let her ladies drive her damn crazy. Naaah, never that (hopefully); just blow smoke and chill in the cloud. Sure, but how is it that her and the band (The Internet always got each other) are in this video WILDIN’ to what seems to be a mellow trance song experience. Dunno, but the end result is pretty good. Check out the visuals above and the link to an earlier post to get hits like “Get Away” on their latest project “Ego Death” (out now).
Mr Hudson – “Dancing Thru It”
We’ve posted his music before. And now there is more. Mr Hudson, having produced and written with Duran Duran for their new album (“Paper Gods”), has put out his own music – “Dancing Thru It.†Haunting Gothic vibe to this one. Stream it above (link below).
Big Grams – “Fell in the Sun” (Live) [Video]
Big Boi and Phantogram have merged, at least for a bit, to form the super-group Big Grams. And they are already on the move, with a self-titled EP on iTunes (which features the likes of Run the Jewels and Skrillex). Above, watch Big Grams hitting the national TV stage, performing their single “Fell in the Sun†on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon (backed by The Roots), to support its release.
Check out the performance, and hit the link to get that EPÂ if you like. Also, to learn a bit more about this collaboration, hit the jump to see Big Grams’ interview with Power 105’s Breakfast Club.
NPR: “Tiny Desk Concerts†Series Welcomes “The Internet” (Video)
Straight outta Los Angeles, and Odd Future, The Internet – featuring founding members Syd The Kid (vocals/production) and Matt Martians (keys/ production), as well as Pat Paige (bass), Jameel Bruner (keys) and Chris Smith (drums) – falls through NPR to do a “Tiny Desk Concert.†The kind of Alternative that The Internet brings to your ears… well… it’s hard to describe. Good thing you have the above video to watch (and the “Ego Death” album link, via earlier post on here, to listen to).
Here’s an attempt at description: Think R&B’d out Hip-Hop swagger meeting homegrown Neo-Soul with a 21st century twist.
Yep. That’s the best description for it. And nope, that doesn’t quite cover it. But yep, you will enjoy it… perhaps enough to cop the album here.
Harleighblu – “Forget” feat. Captain Supernova
Ready for some nice alt-soul? Hope so, because this is what that is. Introspection, interpretation, execution of soul on an alternative platform. Go ahead and play, so you’ll be up on things by the time your friends are just getting into this Harleighblu. This “Forget” (featuring Captain Supernova) is off her “Futurespective†EP 2.
“The whole EP is kind of dark and creepy in sound, and lyrically I’m being honest about the things that come into my head.â€
– Harleighblu
So this is how L.A. is doing it nowadays, huh? Okay.
HARLEIGHBLU – FORGET FEAT. CAPTAIN SUPERNOVA | FUTURESPECTIVE EP 2
BOSCO – “Boy” feat. Jace (Of Two-9) [Video]
What a way to start the day – a li’l BOSCO in ya life. Has a feel like those morning workout shows oozing with sensuality back in the day. The 30-Minute Workout… Kiana Tom’s Flex Appeal… way more focus on the sexiness than the calisthenics (which is alright with us). Yeah, this “Boy” video is kinda like that; a lot of flexy, a lot of sexy, both complementing a sensual vocal delivery. You can get this EP title track (featuring Jace of Two-9) via the iTunes link below.
(Something eerie about this video, too. Maybe it’s the lighting, the effects… whatever… still watching it though).
Japanese Television Show Features A “Handjob Competition” (Video)
Another crazy Japanese game show has come to light featuring women who give hand jobs to men to see who can be jerked off the fastest.
– The Point with Ana Kasparian
Wait WHAT??? Yeah, this is real. Maybe get one-way plane tickets to Japan, huh? So, what about this story is the craziest… that there is such a competition, that this is NOT the only such competition, or maybe Mélia Mills’ VERY in-depth analysis of how some may have a ‘competitive advantage’ in the ummm race. Wowww.
You’ve gotta watch.
Alternative: Szjerdene – “Faded”
Szjerdene with something airy, sweet and wonderful. Little touch of bounce in there. Good vibing music she co-produced with Full Crate. Check out “Faded” in the stream above; linked below. Hope you are enjoying your weekend. This’ll help.
Majid Jordan – “My Love” feat. Drake (Video)
Majid Jordan plus Drake equals dope music. We’ve seen it here before. For more proof, check out visuals above for Majid Jordan’s “My Love” – featuring Drake. Linked the iTunes single download below, too.
Alternative/R&B: The Internet – “Girl” (Live)
Above: Watch The Internet do a live in-studio version of “Girl†for KCRW. Like it? You can get the single and more dopeness on The Internet’s LP “Ego Death” (out now, linked via earlier post below).
Tame Impala – “Let It Happen” (Video)
Tame Impala with a video for “Let It Happen†that is… well, it’s kinda like… Look, you watch and figure out the heart attack, hallucinations, and talking sandwich stuff going on above. The single is from the Tame Impala album “Currents” (out now on iTunes).
Alternative: FKA twigs – “M3LL155X” (Video)
FKA twigs let her “M3LL155X” EP go on iTunes. You could go get that now, but I implore you to watch her EP video (yeah, you read right) before you go to i-downloading or Apple picking or whatever you young folk are doing nowadays. I am not afraid to tell y’all that I just don’t “get” a lot of this visual presentation. Alternative is an understatement when we are talking about FKA twigs.
But then again, so is beautiful. She is gorgeous!

DJ Rasta Root – “One MusicFest 2015 Official Mix” (Mixtape)
There will be all kinds of wonderful on stage at this year’s One MusicFest (in Atlanta, Georgia, USA). But that’s September 15, 2015…like a month away. How about NOW? James Fauntleroy – “Magic” (Prod. By Malay)
A unique sound to this track, produced by Malay, to say the least. Hard to put in a category. As an alternative to most of the R&B that we’ve posted for James Fauntleroy before, let’s tag it Alternative R&B and get to listening to “Magic”…’cause it has a nice sound to it.
for the cold summer.
from the upcoming motion album 1984.
