This song is so dope I went ahead & purchased it. I’m not that familiar with Malaysian artist Yuna, but after seeing a tweet about this song on the new Fader label I found it to be a pretty dope discovery. I wasn’t even fully aware that FADER had a music label until now either…..

I’ve been crazy busy the last few days so I didn’t have time to post this particular joint up until now. Some of you may have only associated Vikter Duplaix with being a DJ after his appearance on the Masters Of The Mix reality show & DJ competition, but it’s clear the brotha is reminding cats how talented he is with quality soulful gems like this right here….

Robert Glasper is set to release his “Black Radio” album that I’m very much looking forward to this February 28th. The album will be an infusion of Blues, Jazz, R&B, Hip Hop, Rock, & a variety of other ingredients that should musically define what “Black Radio” should be. A few of the songs that leaked early featuring Erykah Badu, Musiq Soulchild, Chrisette Michele, & R&B trio King let’s me know that this is shaping up to be a very good project. R&B/Alternative: Tawiah – Run (EP)

British soul singer Tawiah has been the background for many other names in the business for some time now, but she’s slowly creeping out & getting her just due recognition for her talent. The young singer spent a significant time touring the world working as a background vocalist in Mark Ronson’s band in addition to delivering background vocals for Corinne Bailey Rae & sometimes filling in for the late great Amy Winehouse. Having gained significant cosigns & recognition for her voice from artists such as Cee-Lo Green, Mary J. Blige, & Lily Allen, it wasn’t long before she signed a new deal with Warner Bros records. Tawiah is undoubtedly stepping out from the background with her new 5 song EP entitled “Run” that serves up as an appetizer before her first full length project is to drop sometime in 2012. This new EP is her second self-financed project since the one she dropped in February of last year called “In Jodi’s Bedroom”. Check out the title track from the EP below plus one of my favorite joints from her which is a remix to “Breakaway” off of her soundcloud page. Check out her new video for “Little Drummer Boy” that also appears on the new EP under the hood….

I truly enjoy their music & looking forward to the complete project although they’ll be leaking tracks over a few weeks from their website. R&B/Soul: Dezaray Dawn – “B-Tween The Lines”

Futuristic soul artist & Atlanta resident Dezaray Dawn’s music often feels like you’re traveling the world without physically moving anywhere. This may have been a subconscious effort in crafting her own sonic DNA since she was born in Germany & has lived in a multitude of cities in the U.S. & around the world before eventually settling here in Atlanta at the age of 16. Her musical roots apparently run even deeper as she is also the cousin of soul singer Anthony David, Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men, & Tiny who is the current wife of rap artist T.I. & former singer with the all girl group Xscape. Dezaray’s time as a DJ in a few clubs spinning progressive soul & other influences may have also helped shape her sound as well. Dezaray let loose this joint “B-Tween The Lines” for the fans, but those of you trying to catch up to her talents should peep her Deep EP produced by Marc Mac. The joint “Sail Away” is a joint I’ve had on repeat several times too…

Delilah – “Love You So” (Video)

This is such a dope song by itself from London based artist Delilah, but the video is pretty interesting too from an artistic standpoint. I’ve only known of the 19 year old singer & songwriter primarily from one or two soulful dubstep songs that she appeared on vocally. Apparently I’m late in discovering her talent as “Love You So” is the second single & EP since her debut “Go” EP.

All of Kid Cudi’s albums have had a not so subtle rock element to them so I’m not surprised when he announced months back that he was forming a band called “WZRD” (Wizard) with producer Dot Da Genius. I’m a fan of Kid Cudi’s music largely because I don’t listen to his music the same as if I’d listen to the average hip hop album. Different moods entirely. The upcoming WZRD album is a birth of sorts for Mr. Scott Mescudi’s focused direction on the rock side of the music so it’s fitting that the album will be released on his birthday January 30th. Great things happening for the ‘Kid’ especially with his acting career also taking off on the new HBO series “How To Make It In America”. Well here’s the first single from the WZRD project called “Brake”…

Nicolay + The Hot At Nights- ‘Shibuya Session’ EP

“+FE Music proudly presents the “Shibuya Session EP”, a collaboration between Nicolay and the Raleigh-based exploratory jazz trio The Hot At Nights, led by 8-string guitar virtuoso (and The Foreign Exchange guitarist) Chris Boerner with Matt Douglas on sax/woodwinds and Nick Baglio on drums.
