Action
Point Break (Trailer)
Hmmm… big-wave surfing, wing-suit flying, snowboarding, free rock climbing, and motorcycling chases… this could be some “Furious 7” on coke and steroids! However… I hope they don’t mess this movie up. The original was a classic. Check out the trailer above, and spring for the popcorn if you go see the movie (definitely filled with action & thrills). Due in theaters Christmas Day.

Extant – (Season 2 Trailer)
Hey, Halle. Over here… We would NEVER wanna shut you up.
Oh, sorry, having a moment with Halle Berry. Now, let’s talk about her show Extant; with its 2nd season jumping off July 2015. The trailer (above) shows action and drama by the bucket load, but not really giving up much in the way of storyline. Good thing there are interviews and story leaks online. Berry returns as astronaut Molly Woods, realizing that humanity is in bigger trouble than ever. The story thus far supported and built to such, but Yahoo TV had an interview that shed light on a significant turn in the show’s direction.
(WARNING: The rest might spoil some of it for true fans of the show already. Watch the trailer now, and go with our blessing.)
“I think Season 2 is a little sexier, a little soapier…It’s a substantial reboot, in that we’re going to come in, in this time and place, several months [after the Season 1 finale], and that puts Molly in a completely different head space. Her mental stability is potentially in question, and we’re going to find out how that happens. There is a significant amount of new casting that changes the landscape of what we’re doing, and it’s less about Molly as mom, and more about Molly as warrior. Molly as a sexy warrior.”
– Liz Kruger, Producer
Okay… so are we talking ‘sexy warrior’ like Storm of X-Men… or is she going to go all ‘Pope’ on us like that show on ABC that we will not mention because, well, we just won’t (but shout to sexy Kerry Washington). Well, the trailer doesn’t show the Woods character flexing any mutant powers. And given the addition of Jeffrey Dean Morgan (playing J.B. Richter), known for his role on Grey’s Anatomy, CBS might be trying to win over some of ABC’s ‘Gladiator’ fan base with some romancing. Either way, check out the Season 2 trailer; and get ready for the Summer premier.
Supergirl (Series Trailer)
Add another comic-brought-to-life to your channel-surfing agenda. CBS has green-lit the “Supergirl” television series for this Fall. DC Comics character Supergirl is Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El. On the show she’ll be challenged mastering her superhuman abilities and navigating the day-to-day world. Not too groundbreaking in that regard, but looking at the 6+ minute trailer above, CBS is sinking major chips into the hero party. So there better be a huge crowd (e.g. TV audience) tuning in to see the show. Heard good things about the other comic-based shows – The Flash and [Green] Arrow on The CW, even Daredevil on Netflix. However, Supergirl has to be much bigger; (at least) be on par with Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – on rival major broadcast network ABC. We will see. But for now… see the trailer.
(And before someone brings up Gotham on Fox… Sure, it’s based on DC’s Batman; but that’s a pre-Batman story. Doesn’t count yet.)
Minority Report (Series Trailer)
Damn this looks good (and so does fine azz Meagan Good). Fox TV is putting out a “Minority Report” series based on the blockbuster Spielberg movie of the same name (that starred Tom Cruise). Check out the series trailer above.
Damon Dash x Kanye West Presents “Too Honorable” (Trailer)
Executive producers Dame Dash and Kanye West present a mixtape movie starring Damon, Stacey Dash, Murda Mook, and Cam’ron, as part of an ensemble cast – “Too Honorable” – due out May 25, 2015, on Poppingtongroup.com.
Check out the 2-minute trailer above.
Legend (Movie Trailer)
This happened for real? Apparently so. The trailer above teases a period movie based on the true story of the rise and fall of London’s Kray Twins (Reggie and Ron). Both portrayed by Tom Hardy in “Legend,” these gangster twins 1960s ran the city ruthlessly. Check out the clip and look forward to the September 11, 2015, release.
Tomorrowland (Trailer)
You wanted to see “Tomorrowland”… Well here it comes!
Yep, it’s coming alright (to the silver screen on May 22, 2015). Looks like Disney has taken all its Marvel Universe movie and TV-making powers, combined them with the adept storytelling already possessed (and learned on producing TV like ‘Once Upon A Time’) and crammed it into yet another late spring / early summer blockbuster. Whew! Combine this robot-fighting near-future set fantasy and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” dropping just weeks earlier; and you understand what a beast mode big screen juggernaut Disney is. Not hurting the effort, at all, is major major Hollywood A-list talent (George Clooney) jumping on the scale with all his weight; giving serious effort to what looks to be an epic rock’em sock’em watching experience! Dollar up for the big bucket of popcorn, extra butter, super-duper sodas and whatnot… and the iMax experience… for this one. Then strap in, as Casey (Britt Robertson) and Frank (Clooney) go all in; taking on killer robots as they take you to “Tomorrowland” (trailer above)!
Featuring a screenplay by “Lost†writer and co-creator Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird, from a story by Lindelof & Bird & Jeff Jensen, “Tomorrowland†promises to take audiences on a thrill ride of nonstop adventures through new dimensions that have only been dreamed of.
The film also stars Hugh Laurie as brilliant scientist David Nix, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key and Thomas Robinson.
All that, too?? Yeah, this looks goooood.
Fantastic Four (Teaser Trailer)
Marvel goes for another reboot. The Spiderman redux went pretty good. How about this? FANTASTIC FOUR!! No Jessica Alba in sight, but it still might be good. Haaaa!!

Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
Actually, it looks interesting… And is… is that Michael B. Jordan… a member of the Four? FANTASTIC! Now you have to watch the trailer (above).
Decoding Marvel: All The X-Men Explained In One Clip (Video)
Now, this is what we needed. Why hasn’t this been done before now? You think you know your X-Men? Watch this and see? Every X-Man… er… person… is covered in this Marvel character timeline video above. From the 1960s to today. Nice!

Avengers: Age of Ultron (Trailer)
So, stop us if you’ve heard this one: A super-futuristic super-powered self-aware robot convinced that the only way to peace on Earth is the extinction of the human race…
What?
Yep, time for another “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” trailer. May 1st, 2015 will be here before you know it. Have your azz in a theater seat by then.
Marvel’s ‘Ant-Man’ (Trailer)
Captain America was the “First Avenger”… but this “Ant Man” (with Paul Rudd as the lead) is going to be a whole other kind. Marvel may have landed another established Hollywood name who pulls off the role like you’d never expect. Sure, looking back you can totally see Robert Downey, Jr., as Tony Starks. But were you sure he could be the “Iron Man” you’d accept?
Now, Marvel is a franchise. A Marvel Universe is developing in film and TV. Think: Will this Rudd “Ant Man” fit? Is this trailer what you’d expect (or come to accept)? Watch and see – the trailer and the movie coming to theaters July 17, 2015.
Wise ‘old man’ (Michael Douglas) giving the pep talk and power to the unassuming hero assuming the save-the-world role… a little Captain America style set up. Great visual tech (Rudd is riding an ant!) and the not-corny costume… Looking good so far. Let’s go Marvel!
Big Game (Trailer)
Oh… well damn. We’re doing me-Tarzan-you-President movies now?? Looks action-packed though! Seems as though Samuel L. Jackson is taking a ‘Nick Fury’ break and letting this up-and-coming action hero (Onni Tommila) do the heavy lifting in this one. That kid is a bad ass. Watch the trailer above for “Big Game.”
A young teenager camping in the woods helps rescue the President of the United States when Air Force One is shot down near his campsite.
Gunmen (Trailer)
You get Sean Penn AND Idris Elba in a shoot’em up, stab’em up, beat’em up, blow’em up film… in your lifetime… lucky you! From “Taken” director Pierre Morel, the film “Gunmen” will open in theaters on March 20, 2015. Jim Terrier (Sean Penn) is an international operative who is betrayed by the organization he worked for; on the run across Europe. Idris Elba plays a mysterious operative named Dupont.
Street Fighter V (Game Trailer)
Gameplay footage for the PS4 game, Street Fighter V. Beautiful graphics and motion articulation; and the effects… woooo! Gameheads will jump for and on this one when it comes out. Fireballs for one and all.
Erykah Badu Appears In ‘Black Dynamite’ (Video)
Crazy funny! From Cartoon Network and Adult Swim – Black Dynamite, Season 2, is underway; and Episode 4 (‘How Honeybee Got Her Groove Back’ or ‘Sexodus’ or ‘Night of the Living D!ckheads’) has not dropped the ball that Season 1 and Michael Jai White’s movie picked up and ran with. But this one has Erykah Badu AND ‘Bob Marley’ in it. Honeybee on ‘ho-vacation’ … that’s how the ep begins. But how does she meet up with Badu?
You’ll see.
Fast & Furious 7 (Trailer)
Trailer for the next in the Fast & Furious action series (“Furious 7”). Wow. Almost don’t want to say it, but R.I.P. Paul Walker. This was his last ride with the F&F crew. But what a ride! Enjoy the trailer and get ready for it to hit the screens.
LOTS of great characters – familiar and new. Warning: You will be saying ‘Oh sh!t’ a lot as the trailer plays.
Avengers: Age of Ultron (Trailer)
Oh hell yeah! If you watched the last ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ episode, you probably saw them tease the next big film coming from the Marvel Universe… “Avengers: Age of Ultron”… and it looks like it’s gonna be that mutha-shut-yo-mouf! Watch the official trailer above.
(But damn… we have to wait until May 2015 for the movie to hit theaters.)
Nightcrawler (Trailer)
Awww maaannn! As soon as I saw the title on this I figured Marvel had slipped a comic-turned-movie in under the Fall radar. You know, like Nightcrawler from the X-Men series. But nope. It’s an action/drama/thriller about a guy who finally finds his way to make a living; as a freelance video-journalist. BUT… the stuff he captures way before even cops and ambulances get on-scene… it goes too far. And as you’d expect in real life, sh!t gets too real for our hapless [sort of] hero.
Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Lou Bloom, a driven young man desperate for work who discovers the high-speed world of L.A. crime journalism. Finding a group of freelance camera crews who film crashes, fires, murder and other mayhem, Lou muscles into the cut-throat, dangerous realm of nightcrawling — where each police siren wail equals a possible windfall and victims are converted into dollars and cents. Aided by Rene Russo as Nina, a veteran of the blood-sport that is local TV news, Lou thrives. In the breakneck, ceaseless search for footage, he becomes the star of his own story.
Watch how real it gets. And not in any funny way either. I mean, hey, it hits screens this Halloween (October 31, 2014).

Taken 3 (Trailer)
A third “Taken” movie (in theaters January 9, 2015)? Um… okay. As long as it’s good. If it’s good, why not go back to the well for another sip? Looks good.
Liam Neeson returns as ex-covert operative Bryan Mills, whose reconciliation with his ex-wife is tragically cut short when she is brutally murdered. Consumed with rage, and framed for the crime, he goes on the run to evade the relentless pursuit of the CIA, FBI and the police. For one last time, Mills must use his “particular set of skills,†to track down the real killers, exact his unique brand of justice, and protect the only thing that matters to him now – his daughter.
Uh ohhh. This time… they killed wifey??? Coming after baby girl??? Lots of bad guys… are going… TO DIE! Well, Forest Whitaker is going to try to stop him. Ha! GOOD LUCK!
