R&B/Soul: Vivian Green – “Anything Out There”

Slated to be on her upcoming release, “The Green Room,” Vivian Green presents “Anything Out There.” Syrupy sweet and smooth. Rock this when you’re in the chill zone (or when you want to get there). The single is available for download via iTunes now. “The Green Room” will be out on September 25, 2012.

Uptown XO – “Errybody” (Prod. AB The Pro) [Video]

Uptown XO (of Diamond District) is back with “Errybody” (produced by AB The Pro), a track from the upcoming mixtape entitled “The Color Gray” (due out October 1, 2012). The lyricism on this is nice…but that beat…will make you bounce. Promise!

Slaughterhouse’s ‘Complex’ Feelings (Video)

Complex.com’s “30 Rappers in Their Thirties” list has set off a tidal wave of feelings with Slaughterhouse. It’s okay to chuckle as we ride it out with Joe Budden, Royce da 5’9, Joell Ortiz and Crooked I; because these fools are hilarious! Feel their “pain.” Share it. Grow from the experience. Hahahaaa.

Stu Bangas x Vanderslice – “Casino Royale” Ft. Apathy x Blacastan (Video)

Hard rhymes and soft Honeyz… shot at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Vegas… You’re already in, right? But on top of all that, this song and video for “Casino Royale” is worthy! Apathy and Blacastan going HARD (that line about feeding fetuses fetuses… whoa) on a quality beat make it so. The song is on “Diggaz With Attitude” – a full-length 17-track release from Stu Bangas and Vanderslice – is due out August 28, 2012. But you can pre-order it via iTunes.

J Dilla – “Rebirth Is Necessary” feat. Tone Plummer x Mr Wrong (Video)

The “Rebirth Of Detroit” by the late Detroit great J Dilla is IN STORES NOW (available at FatBeats). This video for his cut “Rebirth Is Necessary” (featuring Tone Plummer and Mr. Wrong) has a rough look to it. But listening to the song, it feels right. Points to Ron Moe and Dirtty Ratt (of Ghosttown Entertainment) for the shot selections, and Rowe Shot Me for the edit, and for keeping the look grimy while embodying a sense of urgency…in keeping with the gritty feel and duress inherent in the song. Respect!

R&B: Sterling Simms – “Tell Her Again” feat. Meek Mill (Video)

Sterling Simms channels Barrington Levy (see “Murderer”) for this hot joint “Tell Her Again” (featuring Meek Mill). The song will likely appear on the forthcoming Sterling Simms debut album, “TGWKS (The Girl Who Kissed Sterling).” Much to love about this video: EYE CANDY (whew)… how they shot Simms walking through a graveyard like he’s gone literally kill the p*ssy… even the sick biking (peep the “one way” sign on the bottom of the ATV)! Don’t understand all the profanity in what would otherwise be a very good R&B record but it is what it is…

Slaughterhouse Learning From Eminem All The Time (Video)

“[All of us are] humble enough to know the appropriate time ‘to be a sponge’.” Who said that? Joe Budden! Yeah…really. He used the words ‘humble’ AND (later in the clip) ‘blessed.’ But seriously, check this video. The vets that comprise Slaughterhouse seem ready to learn from… and grind like… Eminem. Good clip.

Russian Interview (Producer/Artist)

This morning we talk to Russian the lead producer from Head Concussion Records and we find out how this ‘young-aged’ man has managed to stay in the league of successful professionals in Jamaica. He tells us about dealing with local artists trying to get signed to the label, the beginning of becoming an artist himself which included voicing a combination with Konshens. Russian credits the work ethic of himself and Vybz Kartel for their success thus far and salutes the other producers in the reggae industry who are also helping to keep ‘Reggae’ alive just as much as Dancehall.

Havoc – “Separated” (Real From The Fake) [Video)

Havoc releases the official video to one of the most controversial songs a number of Mobb Deep fans have been speaking on throughout the hip hop community called “Separated (Real From The Fake)” which is a not so subtle diss to his former partner in rhyme Prodigy. I’m sure Havoc has more to say regarding their beef when his upcoming EP entitled “13” is released in the near future.

Kida – “3 Rings”

The West Coast Inglewood homie Kida is back after ‘a hiatus’ (as he said in this cut) with his own flip on Rick Ross’s “3 Kings” record called “3 Rings.” Last we heard (and posted on here) from this brother was “The Re-Up.” Haven’t heard or read anything yet about the pending release of Kida’s LP “Long Story Short” or whether this track will be on it. But we can enjoy this track in the meantime.

R&B: Arlissa – “Hard To Love Somebody” feat. Nas (Video)

South London’s Arlissa sings with an old soul, though she is not even out of her teens. She’s about to be major though. With a Nas co-sign? Come on. I need not say any more. The video for the remake of Arlissa’s single “Hard To Love Somebody” (due out on iTunes September 30, 2012) provides visuals for the good music she and Nas made. Shout out to This Is RnB for the scoop on this hotness.
