Cover Story: Man Who Armed Black Panthers Was FBI informant (Video)

Richard Masato Aoki, the man journalist Seth Rosenfeld reports gave the Black Panther Party some of its first firearms and weapons training, was an undercover FBI informer, according to a former bureau agent and an FBI report. One of the Bay Area’s most prominent radical activists of the era, Aoki was known as a fierce militant who touted his street-fighting abilities; even before aligning himself with the Black Panther Party. Now, whether the evidence is shared in this video is borne of the misinformation campaign carried out as part of J. Edgar Hoover’s CoIntelPro (e.g. the Counter-Intelligence Program carried out by the Federal Bureau of Investigations) or not is left for you to decide. But this is definitely an interesting watch.

According to Businessweek, his better-than-GPS mapping software, IndoorAtlas, can pinpoint your location precisely above ground…or over a half-mile underground!
Knowledge [of exactly where you are] is power. For instance, if a futuristic product promotion system knows exactly where you are in a store, embedded ads in the aisle can play to tempt you to buy products right as you pass them! Hmmm…

Willie Taylor (of Day26) gives voice to the frustration of getting romantically tied up with someone who belongs to another on “Not Mine.” Accompanying Taylor on the Brandon “B.A.M.†Alexander beat, Dondria echoes the sentiment. Now, you can feel the lovers’ lament; but beware… you also can feel the fire and desire between these two (on the track… I’m not trying to start rumors about their personal lives). Supposedly, new Voter ID laws are being pushed into place “to reduce instances of voter fraud.” But many have said, on record, that voter fraud is NOT even a real problem. Now, fraudulent practices with vote COUNTING… Well, that’s another Bush election altogether. Fact: Requiring NEW forms of ID to combat voter fraud has the effect, intended or not, of DENYING THE RIGHT TO VOTE in key segments of the population! Keesha Gaskins and Michael Waldman from the Brennan Center for Justice sat down on PBS’ Moyers & Company to explain. Using new research, Waldman and Gaskins argue these laws represent “the first rollback of voting rights since the Jim Crow era.â€
