The Fugees x Drake – ‘Drizzy Settles The Score’ (Mixtape)
Check out this creative mixtape by DJ Alexei who remixed Drake vocals with The Fugees’s classic album ‘The Score’. The artwork had me laughing at first because the graphic designer straight disrespected Pras like he doesn’t even exist. Hahaaa! You can download the mixtape by clicking on the artwork above, the link below, or just listen to the stream below. The complete tracklisting is under the hood……

Negro Please: Jesse Jackson Jr Says The iPad Is Killing Jobs
Jesse Jackson Jr sounds like a f*ckn’ idiot…..Yes the iPad parts are made in China, but they’re assembled or processed here in the U.S. the same way Toyota makes the parts for its cars in Japan & then assemble the cars here in U.S. plants. He should have focused more on the trade imbalance with China instead of this ‘the iPad Is Killing Jobs’ speech because he’s wrong. Technology the world over is constantly changing & evolving so that is not just limited to Apple in terms of how jobs are changing. He even admitted in his speech that he BOUGHT an iPad. Are you serious?! His comments just makes him look like another politician who doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about. The fact that he’s black makes it even worse.
Rewind: ‘Just For Kicks’ Film 2005 (Video)
The relationship between Hip Hop and sneakers have been going steady for some time now. Let’s rewind on this 2005 documentary “Just for Kicks” that sheds some light on the obsession between Hip Hop and athletic shoes from ‘My Adidas’ to ‘Airforce 1’s’.
Yours Truly,
Frank Yerby

Jayforce note:
This has nothing to do with sneakers, but look at how technology has changed with these documentaries & the camera quality. That stuck out to me the most about Frank’s post besides the errors Frank made in the post that I had to correct. Just kidding Frank……but this documentary was filmed in 2005 & technology has significantly improved in just half a decade.

Kid CuDi: The Journey Of Mr. Rager (Documentary)
I thoroughly enjoyed both of the albums the kid from Cleveland has dropped. Don’t know if I was dreaming or smoking the greeny green like Kid CuDi is notorious for but I’m positive I’ve seen this documentary on the web a while ago. Maybe it was removed for some reason & brought back. Who knows? Doesn’t matter…..just watch & enjoy it if you haven’t peeped it already. Part two under the hood……

Michael Rapaport Addresses ATCQ’s Grievances With The ‘Beats, Rhymes, & Life’ Documentary
Complex Magazine caught up with Michael Rapaport for him to give his side of the story regarding the upcoming A Tribe Called Quest documentary ‘Beats, Rhymes, & Life’. I’ve seen the film already but I’m not sure what the final version will look like after some demands were made to have multiple scenes and statements left on the cutting room floor. I have to agree with Michael Rapaport on several key things he mentioned in this article that I was asking myself prior to this interview. Like adding the final piece to a completed puzzle my assumptions were confirmed by Rapaport’s responses. There’s not enough time for me to go into detail here, but you can check out the article at the link below. Pay careful attention & I believe you’ll come away with a better understanding of what really happened & of what is going on now. There’s alot of stuff said here from Michael Rapaport that simply makes alot of sense.
The bottom line is that this a documentary & not a film with actors. There’s nothing that needs to be acted so what the audience is getting is who you really are when those cameras are on. I personally believe Q-Tip didn’t like what he saw about himself on screen & immediately began to initiate steps to do damage control. Off screen he’s not exactly making himself look too good either with the interviews & twitter statements instead of handling things behind closed doors.  The general public doesn’t care about what issues Q-Tip has with Michael Rapaport. They just want to see the film & it won’t stop them from going to theaters or to the bootleg DVD man to see the movie. After piecing it all together I do believe Phife handled things pretty smart in a variety of ways. There appears to have been a lot of great opportunities missed with this project & because Q-Tip is the frontman of the group it could be perceived that he’s the primary problem. At least that’s my perception.

Chris Brown – ‘Look At Me Now’ feat. Busta Rhymes & Lil Wayne (The Karmin Remix Cover) (Video)
Yo I was ready to laugh & clown at this joint because I thought it would be similar to one of those rap parodies like the acoustic version of ‘Straight Out Of Compton’ that Nina Gordon covered, but instead of laughing I was left in awe. This girl Karmin killed this cover of Chris Brown’s ‘Look At Me Now’ featuring Busta Rhymes & Lil Wayne. 95% of rap artists can’t keep up with the nimble lyrical flow of Busta Rhymes in any capacity but this chick right here kills it! Rappers need to step their game up because anytime an assumed novice like this chick Karmin can body a flow as well as Busta then the game truly is over. Wow!!! Check out the original joint with Chris Brown, Busta Rhymes, & Weezy under the hood for comparison……
Santigold – ‘Go’ feat. Karen O (prod by Q-Tip, Switch, & Santigold)
Philly raised & Brooklyn based artist Santi White better known to the world as Santogold Santigold drops this new joint after making fans of her last project wait for a grip of time since her 2008 debut ‘Santogold’. I really enjoyed that album & in fact we named it ‘Best Alternative Album Of 2008’ on our radio show 3 years ago. Now that’s she’s signed to Roc Nation management it appears its full speed ahead on releasing some new material. That’s wasup!
SANTIGOLD – GO FEAT. KAREN O (PROD BY Q-TIP, SWITCH, & SANTIGOLD)
