Rapper Big Pooh x Chaundon – ‘Idols & Role Models’ (prod by Focus…)

Focus dropped this ‘Idols & Role Models’ joint just a few days ago with Kida as the sole emcee on it, but this other version came along & he didn’t want to call it ‘Idols & Role Models Remix’ so he decided to call it ‘Perspective #2’. Either way it’s still dope….maybe if I get the time I’ll do an edit with Kida, Rapper Big Pooh, & Chaundon all together for convenience when I play this joint on the radio. Until then y’all what to do below…….

Joe Budden is beginning to pick it up with the frequency of his JoeBuddenTV web discussions & this latest one is dealing with the topic of ‘Do Regular Guys Still Have A Chance?’. If I had a dollar for everytime this particular discussion was brought up in a barber shop, at the gym, in the workplace, or anywhere else I would no longer be a regular guy myself. I’d be one of those ballin’ ass negruhs making it difficult for the regular guys. Let’s be honest……A woman who’s been with some baller type like a Floyd Mayweather for any period of time is not going to want to go back to kicking it with a regular guy. I just don’t see it.

Down there in Texas an instructor is trying to promote ‘Twerkin’ For Jesus’ courses on the pole. I can hear my great grandma’s voice saying ‘Dat Ain’t Riiight baabay..Dat Ain’t Riiiiight’. The black reporter in video looks not only excited about women ‘Twerkin’ For Jesus’ but he looks very familiar too…check out the video under the hood & tell me if I’m wrong….

Raekwon makes a stop in Dublin, Ireland while promoting the ‘Shaolin Vs. Wu-Tang’ album. The new album is now available & is definitely one of the best hip hop albums to be released this year. Supposedly Raekwon will have more video blogs from across the pond & this is just the first part in a series of clips. This joint is damn near perfect with the exception of it being too short. I must have played it about 5X in a row. The ‘Heirlooms’ joint is from Apollo Brown’s instrumental album appropriately titled ‘Clouds’. I’m assuming he named it that because when you listen to his aural soundscapes you get that elevated feeling from his beats. Emcee ‘Has-Lo’ took the instrumental & did it justice vocally & lyrically. Niiiice

When this song leaked on the web back in January with only Kanye & John Legend it became of my favorites that I played over & over again. I was wondering why Kanye didn’t include ‘Eyes Closed’ on his most recent MBDTF album because I felt like it would have been a waste of a great song. Well it seems like Snoop caught wind of the joint & holla’d at Kanye about it or it could have been Snoop’s song to begin with for his Doggumentary album due on March 29th. This joint is a hit in my opinion….I can see it with my eyes closed.

Jay Smooth is one of my favorite commentators on the web but he hasn’t been doing his video blogs in quite some time. In fact, he hasn’t been on twitter as much & I kinda miss his commentaries on a variety of issues. Jay Smooth is usually on the money when it comes to music, politics, & just about anything other topic that is being debated throughout our days. His strength is in his ability to adequately break down complex thoughts into cohesive video blogs that end up saying exactly what you were thinking in a very intelligent manner. Jay Smooth does it again in this most recent video blog in expressing what exactly made Nate Dogg a significant figure in music. Swizz Beatz’s ex-wife & singer Mashonda graces the latest cover of KING Magazine due on newstands March 29th. Despite her R&B career not exactly taking off, Mashonda was always a very attractive woman. She had wifey type of look & a KING Magazine photoshoot & cover may have been long overdue. It could have been one of the reasons her R&B career didn’t take off like she may have wanted to because she was more in a motherly role & sort of unavailable to be that classy sex symbol male fans would lust over. Good for Swizzy, bad for thousands of brothas who may even thought there was a slim chance to try & holla. Now that she’s divorced she’s really steppin’ out with it. I’m sure alot of brothas don’t mind & if Swizz don’t want her……..

Representing San Diego, one of the most beautiful cities in the U.S. in my opinion, independent hip hop & spoken word band theBREAX drops a new 2 in 1 type of video for ‘More Of’ & ‘At The Core’ that appears on their ‘Brilliant Realness’ maxi-single thats now available on itunes. Their style is more in the lane of that feel good type of hip hop and the video sort of captures that simplicity especially in the first part of it along the boardwalk. I dig the latin or brazilian influence in the sample used in this song…..
