The Kid Daytona drops a new video for the Dr. Dre Chronic inspired ‘Take Aim’ which appears on his Interlude project that dropped a few months ago. He manages to make sure Freddie Gibbs & Alex of the KickDrums make their appearances in the clip as well. The video is directed by Derek Pike who’s been killing it with many of the visuals for 9th Wonder’s team of artists on IWWMG. Make sure you watch the video to the very end. I let out a little chuckle after it.

EPK: Stahhr Continues To Shine Her Light (Video)

Last year I directed my homie Stahhr’s video for ‘Still Dope’ which was produced by MF Doom & I was very proud to assist her with the project. It was a labor of love because I enjoyed the song & have mad respect for Stahhr over the years as one of Atlanta’s premier emcees period. We did everything literally on little to no budget but it still turned out dope. I also shot some additional footage that we were gonna use for an EPK but we never got around to getting the EPK edited after the video was completed. My West Coast homie Damu (also Stahhr’s manager) finally got the EPK completed sometime last year & uploaded it on youtube. My blog didn’t exist at the time but I know this is a perfect time to bring that video back for yall so people can get get focused again on the Queen before she drops her new project “Mother Nature With A Molotov” on Damu Music Group.

Shout to Davey D & his Hardknock TV team for this interview with Blu as he chronicles his career direction based on his influences in hip hop. From a cinematic standpoint I thought it was a dope idea to interview Blu on a LA rooftop with the sky in the background with a ‘Blu’ hue. Nice attention to detail in addition to a very good interview….

Truck North has made some noise as a solo artist in Philly & on the web but there hasn’t been many interviews with him that I’ve run across. More often than not his music spoke for itself & it never appeared as if he actively pursued interviews or heavy media attention. Maybe I’m wrong but this video with Truck North talking about his band mates the ‘Money Making Jam Boys’ is the most I’ve heard from the North Philly representer other than in a song form. There’s no excuse for young cats in hip hop today to not be skilled at their craft. Biggie was battling emcees & nicer than what most would consider to be the best rap artists of this era. Keep in mind that Christopher Wallace was only 17 in this video. His challenger in the video eventually gave up & walked the f*ck off too. Crazy right? It’s Biggie’s early battle skills that sharpened him to be a talented artist & even crafting ill battle records like the one below…..

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was determined that Lil Kim was correct in her beliefs. You can always look at the past as a point of reference for a clearer road map of insight. Every day it seems like government documents continue to be declassified from the 60s & 70s alone. History has shown us how the government tried to dismantle the black panther party movements & other civil rights & politically based movements of previous eras. Entertainers were some of the primary people being watched back in the day even before the 1940s & 50s McCarthyism era on past J. Edgar Hoover’s era with his cross dressing ass.
